Perpetrators use psychological abuse to control, terrorize, and denigrate their victims. It frequently occurs prior to or concurrently with physical or sexual abuse. Many say church leaders struggled to respond to crisis in their congregations when members are going through abuse or the leaders use the word against the victim and not hold the perpetrator accountable. These men of God want to help us to understand they know how to seek for help. Experts broadly agree on best practices for church leaders to come forward in abuse cases, but a lack of data and the historical underreporting of abuse in the church can make it difficult to know how to address it.

Many times while bringing awareness you can never get a mans perspective. Mr. Hinnant got involved because he seen the impact Domestic Violence was taking place in people of color and because he has daughters and sons and he wanted to educate and bring awareness to others.

Most abusive parents love their children and never intend to abuse them. When these parents find themselves in stressful situations, however, they sometimes lose control of their own actions and emotions, and the children bare the brunt of their frustrations. For abused children, violence is a way of life
