This episode of The Neville Goddard Lectures Podcast features the lecture summary read by Lynna K. Teer, along with the full original lecture “Hope Deferred” by Neville Goddard. In “Hope Deferred,” Neville Goddard explains that an unfulfilled desire is not the result of denial or delay by an external power. It is the outcome of remaining in a state of hope rather than entering the state of fulfillment. Drawing from the biblical phrase, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick,” Neville teaches that hope keeps desire in the future and prevents its acceptance in the present.Neville reminds us that hope is not faith. Hope anticipates, waits, and looks toward a future moment when the desire might be fulfilled. Faith accepts the desire as an accomplished reality within consciousness. As long as man continues to hope, he remains conscious of waiting rather than possessing. When the desired state is assumed, it is entered within imagination and must eventually express itself. The difference between hope and faith is therefore the difference between expecting fulfillment someday and accepting fulfillment now.Disappointment and discouragement arise when man lives in hope while anxiously searching the external world for signs, movement, or confirmation. Desire is fulfilled when it is inwardly accepted as natural and real, not when external circumstances first appear to support it.Scripture, when interpreted psychologically rather than historically, reveals the remedy for hope deferred. Man is called to move beyond waiting and enter the state of possession through assumption. By feeling the wish fulfilled and remaining faithful to that inner reality, he allows life to reorganize itself without force or strain. In this lecture, Neville clarifies:Why hope can keep a desire perpetually in the futureHow hope differs from genuine faithWhy disappointment arises from waiting for external evidenceWhat it means to accept a desire as already fulfilledHow assumption moves man from waiting into possessionWhy remaining faithful to the fulfilled state allows desire to unfold naturallyUnder The Law, man discovers that imagination creates reality through the states he accepts as true. He no longer merely hopes that circumstances will change. Instead, he assumes the feeling of the wish fulfilled and lives inwardly from the certainty that his desire is already accomplished.Under The Promise, man awakens to the deeper truth that God's purpose is not merely to fulfill temporal desires, but to awaken within humanity. Faith ultimately becomes the acceptance of God's completed work and the recognition that the divine promise is already established, awaiting its appointed fulfillment within every individual.Hope waits for fulfillment. Faith accepts that fulfillment is already present.“Hope Deferred” reveals that man does not need to struggle for fulfillment or anxiously search for evidence that his desire is approaching. The remedy for prolonged waiting is assumption. When hope gives way to inner acceptance, the heart is satisfied, the state of possession is entered, and desire unfolds naturally in the world of experience. For structured study resources, original lecture archives, and deeper exploration of Neville Goddard's teachings, visit NevilleGoddardOfficial.com.To explore the practical application of The Law, listen to The Mindset and Manifesting Podcast. For discussions devoted entirely to The Promise and spiritual awakening, listen to The Journey of Awakening Podcast. For insight into the pattern of Scripture unfolding within man, listen to The Bible Your Biography Podcast.Shop Neville Goddard books at The Neville Goddard Collection.

Waiting can be painful, but it is not punishment or abandonment. It's an intentional opportunity to grow in wisdom and favor with God, just as Jesus did. It stretches us to be transparent about our frustration and cry out to Jesus with our questions, to come to know Him and be known by Him in greater ways. God is always after your heart, and when you invite Him into your sorrow and longing, you will find peace that comes through hope anchored in Him, rather than an outcome. Join Rabbi and Pastor Michael as they discuss the potential for waiting seasons to transform and refine your character and how they bring greater spiritual maturity, giving you a front-row seat to experience the wisdom of God's perfect timing. #HopeDeferred #SeasonOfWaiting #WaitingOnGod #FaithJourney #SpiritualGrowth #CurtLandryPodcast #OvercomingDiscouragement #ChristianPodcast

Send us Fan MailOn today's PoM podcast episode I sat down with James McLamb, founder of Generation Youth. James has spent years sitting with young people who are watching the men in their lives closely, not for perfection, but for honesty, steadiness, and integrity. He has also spent time with men who love their families deeply yet feel the unspoken pressure to always be strong, certain, and composed. Through these experiences, James speaks powerfully to the gap many men feel between who they believe God is calling them to be and how they actually experience daily life as a husband, father, and leader. To learn more about James and Generation Youth click here: https://www.generation-youth.com/Learn more about The Pursuit of Manliness: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/ Secure your spot in Tribe XVIII https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/tribe-xviiiSubscribe to Recalibrate, the daily podcast from The Pursuit of Manliness: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/recalibrate/id1797551549Join The Herd:  https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/join-the-herdRegister for our 2026 Fall Men's Retreat: https://www.thepursuitofmanliness.com/gear/p/2026-mens-retreatSupport the show

Episode #314: Celito Arlegue, the Executive Director of the Council of Asian Liberals and Democrats (CALD), offers a reflective account of his organization's involvement with Myanmar. He discusses CALD's initial engagement with Myanmar's National League for Democracy (NLD), providing training and support leading up to the 2015 elections, and recalls the optimism of that period, with many NLD members showing remarkable resilience despite years of imprisonment and torture. These experiences were life-changing for Arlegue, who was struck by the leaders' focus on national reconciliation and democratic progress instead of any justifiable animosity toward the military. However, Arlegue also admits that CALD was unprepared for the challenges the NLD would face in governance, particularly during the Rohingya crisis. The complexities of this crisis strained relations between CALD and the NLD, as the organization struggled to balance its support for democracy with the need to address human rights violations. Arlegue expresses regret that CALD did not do more during this period, acknowledging the difficulty of navigating such a delicate situation. In the aftermath of the 2021 military coup, CALD's connections with Myanmar's democratic forces have become increasingly difficult to maintain, as many leaders are now in exile or imprisoned. Arlegue underscores the importance of international recognition for the National Unity Government (NUG) and calls for greater support for Myanmar's resistance forces, including military aid. Despite the challenges, Arlegue remains hopeful, recognizing the extraordinary courage and determination of the Myanmar people in their fight for democracy and human rights.“I have to say that I'm really surprised that ASEAN is not recognizing this as a regional security issue,” he says. “The mere fact that it's happening within our borders, and as ASEAN, we could not do anything about it! It really baffles me why ASEAN is not doing enough on this particular issue.” Arlegue further calls on ASEAN to recognize the NUG and CRPH as “the legitimate voices of the Myanmar people.”

Summary: Personal Experience and Faith: Leah shares her personal journey through multiple hardships, including the loss of her house, her son's addiction, and her mother's cancer. She emphasizes how these experiences have deepened her intimacy with God and strengthened her faith. Permission to Feel and Wrestle with God: The discussion touches on the importance of embracing emotions and being transparent with God. Leah explains that acknowledging and wrestling with feelings of grief and suffering can lead to experiencing God's peace and presence more profoundly. Community and Support: Leah highlights the significance of community support during times of grief. She shares examples from her own life where friends and community members provided crucial support, reinforcing the idea that healing often involves others helping to "unravel our grave clothes." Message of Hope and Redemption**: Throughout the conversation, Leah and Speaker 1 underscore the message of hope in Christ. They stress that while grief and suffering are inevitable, turning towards God and trusting in His plan of redemption can lead to healing and transformation. Podcast Intro: My guest is Lea Turner, a wife, a mom to 5 children, she's an author and a grief coach. When you hear just a little bit of her story today, you'll see how much experience she's had in the area of grief and it will explain why she's the perfect one to come alongside grieving hearts and help them navigate the seasons of life when we live with loss and uncertainty. A quick overview of her grief journeys (with an S - plural)…within a very short time period of 3 years it included death, cancer, a house fire where she and her family lost absolutely everything include the family dog), her son battling addiction, shattered dreams, heart surgery…and just recently her mom's cancer journey has shifted and is adding yet more uncertainty for the days ahead. Our conversation focuses on Lea's book, The Freedom to Feel: Finding God in Grief and Trauma, Her book goes into greater depth with regard to what we discussed plus additional topics that we didn't have time to discuss. I really picked around in Lea's pain and she was gracious enough to answer every question. She explains how her relationship with God has evolved through each season of loss, emphasizing the importance of building a foundation with God to weather difficult times. She shares a story about a pastor's advice that spending time with God is preparation for future hardships. Lea highlights the importance of embracing feelings of grief and suffering rather than running from them and she explains that acknowledging and feeling pain allows the Holy Spirit to provide comfort, contrasting this with numbing behaviors like alcohol or excessive activities. She also discusses the importance of not becoming a victim of grief, suggesting that continually dwelling on hard stories can trap a person in their suffering. Instead, she recommends balancing necessary daily responsibilities with the need to process emotions and seek God's guidance. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did as we discussed the hope and transformation that comes from a relationship with God. All that she shared is very encouraging but I especially loved the reminder when she said that as believers we lament, meaning we grieve with hope. I'd say that Leah's over all message and I whole heartedly agree with it….is the importance of continually turning towards God. Even in the midst of grief and heartache we can count on God's character and presence to remain constant through every crashing wave of any storm we endure. Let's listen in for encouragement and a reminder that God has a plan of redemption for every form of suffering they endure.
