There is so much in this episode that I love. Hunter's story and his desire to glorify God through everything he does is so inspiring. Luke 12:48 says "From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked." God has given each of us immense gifts, it's what we do with them that determines our relationship with God and our time here on earth. For the last three weeks, we've examined different aspects of community - through friends, church, discipleship, and family. Today we're wrapping up this series with the impeccable Taylor Sink! I'm so glad I got to talk with Taylor because she is so passionate about community. We went over so much, including Taylor's journey from a half committed relationship with Jesus to running the kids ministry at Passion City Church, baptizing sisters in Christ and hosting the Online Experience at Passion2018.
Family is such a vital part of community that sometimes gets overlooked. They're right with you everyday, but we don't always take the time to be intentional with them - and that needs to change. With us today is Preston Glisson, a renaissance man if I've ever met one: world traveler, oldest of nine, TeenPact Program Director, and worship leader legend. He spit fire about his adventures across the world and back home with his family. I love him and loved our conversation here. If you hit up this episode and are like I NEED to hear more of this then get on that subscribe button so you get straight fire in your ears every Monday. You can find Preston on Instagram @prestonthebestone Follow @worthpodcast for the latest good good and maybe some live streams in the future. I'd love if you left a review and gave me some feedback
.Christian discipleship has changed my life and countless others, but not enough people are doing it. Ben Sullivan, the man that helped me find my first discipleship mentor, is here to tell you everything you need to know. Anyone that has met him will tell you how loving generous and honest he is. He's super passionate about discipleship and he shared so much value in this episode.
For the next couple weeks on Worth we’ll be talking about community. Community is such an important aspect of Christianity because without community, the church is nothing. The New Testament Church is such a glorious example of community. In fact the purpose of the New Testament after Acts chapter 1 was to establish Jesus’s church to be a witness: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” - Acts 1:8. We need witnesses for the church - this is where community is essential. Jessica Cmiel is an awesome example of a witness forJesus’s church. She graduated from a large public high school in just three years and is now at the University of Georgia. She has a ton to say about Community and being intentional with friends, especially those who are not Christian. “You can learn a lot about God through how other people know about God and that’s what’s so important about community, your friends may know God in a different way than you do… when you get to know how other people know God you get to know Him better through that.” Find your community and be a witness for the Kingdom of God. Joe Brim is the creative coordinator of Passion Students at Passion City Church. He's such a solid guy and you can easily see God in him and his life. We get into a bit of Godly dating then jump right into how his picture of how he would glorify God with his talents totally changed, hit up the fake natures that are a part of us as well as the importance of discipleship. At the end, you get Joe's and my take on The Last Jedi. Great episode, enjoy! This is the part where I ask you to subscribe to the podcast and rewrite a review. Right now Worth behind a furries podcast, if you don't know what that is, don't worry about it, but it's incredibly depressing.
