Renault is exploring range-extender EV (EREV) technology for its next-generation electric platform — underpinning models like the Scenic successor — where a combustion engine acts only as a generator for trips up to 1,000km, and Provost is pushing for EREVs to be explicitly permitted for sale in the EU and UK beyond the 2035 all-BEV mandate.NORWAY'S EV SHARE RECOVERS AND HITS 98%Norway registered 7,272 new passenger cars in February 2026, with BEVs accounting for 7,127 of them — a 98.01% market share — as the market began to stabilise after a turbulent end to 2025 driven by expiring VAT exemptions. OFV Director Geir Inge Stokke compared the post-surge normalisation to the period following the 2022 VAT reform, with diesel, petrol PHEVs, hybrids, and pure petrol cars dividing up the remaining 2% between them. NORWAY PASSES ONE MILLION BATTERY-ELECTRIC VEHICLESNorway's battery-electric passenger car fleet has crossed one million, with 951,300 BEV passenger cars and 50,300 BEV light commercial vehicles (LCVs) on the road, representing 32.4% of all passenger cars in the country's 2.94 million-strong fleet. Oslo leads with a 48.9% BEV share in its passenger car fleet and is expected to crack 50% before summer, while rural Finnmark trails at 12.2%, and the Norwegian EV Association's Christina Bu says the LCV transition — currently at just 9.7% — urgently needs to accelerate.UPTAKE SPREADS BEYOND WEALTHIER EARLY ADOPTERSResearch from charging firm char.gy and think tank New Automotive shows that EV adoption in England, once closely tied to wealth as measured by the Index of Multiple Deprivation, has spread significantly into poorer areas by Q3 2024–2025, with growth rates converging across most neighbourhoods. Used BEV transactions surged 45.7% in 2025 to a record 274,815 units, lifting used BEV market share to 3.5%, and with more than two million plug-in vehicles now on UK roads, the main remaining challenge is delivering reliable, affordable on-street charging in the most disadvantaged communities. QUANTUMSCAPE UNVEILS PRODUCTION LINE IN CALIFORNIAQuantumScape officially inaugurated its Eagle Line — a highly automated solid-state battery pilot production facility in San Jose, California — on February 4, 2026, designed not for mass production by QuantumScape itself but as a scalable blueprint that licensing partners, including Volkswagen (which has invested over $300 million), can replicate at gigawatt-hour scale in their own plants. With roughly $850 million in liquidity but a history of burning over $100 million annually and Volkswagen having scaled back its involvement in 2023 after missed timelines, QuantumScape's strategy pivot toward licensing means the next 18–24 months are critical for securing a major customer agreement.KIA UK SETS EV2 FIRST DRIVE WEEKENDSKia UK will run First Drive Weekend events for the EV2 across nearly all 190 UK dealers from April 16 to June 27, 2026, offering structured 30-minute accompanied drives ahead of first deliveries expected later in the year. The EV2 is a compact SUV just over four metres long built on the 400V E-GMP platform, supporting 10%–80% DC rapid charging in around 30 minutes, with two battery options (42.2kWh and 61.0kWh) and an expected starting price of around £25,000 — potentially undercutting rivals like the Renault 5 and Ford Puma Gen-E after the UK's £3,750 plug-in vehicle grant.BMW TEASES FOUR-MOTOR ELECTRIC M3 AT NÜRBURGRINGBMW M has released camouflaged footage of the electric M3 prototype — codenamed ZA0 — lapping the Nürburgring, featuring a unique four-motor all-wheel-drive setup with a front-motor decoupling mode for rear-wheel-drive capability that doesn't appear on any other Neue Klasse model. The ZA0 uses a bespoke battery pack with more than 100 kWh of net energy capacity not shared with regular i3 variants, with production targeted for March 2027 — well after the standard i3 sedan, which entered pre-series production at BMW's Munich plant in February 2026.ROYAL ENFIELD SETS 2026–2027 EV AND ICE PUSHRoyal Enfield is launching its first electric motorcycles under a new sub-brand called Flying Flea, starting with the minimalist urban C6 in 2026 and followed by the scrambler-inspired S6 in 2027, both sharing a common battery architecture that signals a modular platform approach. The brand is also developing an electrified Himalayan adventure bike, pushing its EV ambitions beyond city commuting into a segment that demands tougher performance credentials around weight, range, and durability. NEXT POLESTAR WILL BE SPORTIER AND ON CHINESE PLATFORMPolestar will replace the Polestar 2 in 2027 with a lower, sportier saloon that will be meaningfully longer than today's 4.6-metre car — potentially rivalling the BMW 3 Series — with UK pricing expected to start just below £50,000. The new model shifts to a Geely Holdings group-wide platform shared with Volvo, Lotus, Lynk&Co, and Zeekr, developed at "China speed" in a 30-month cycle versus the typical five-to-seven-year European timeline, with software-defined vehicle capability and advanced central computing at its core.ITALY LAUNCHES FIRST OFFICIAL ELECTRIC PORSCHE CLUBRegistro Italiano E-motion has become the world's first Porsche club built exclusively around battery-electric vehicles, earning official recognition from Porsche after beginning life as a pandemic-era chat group for Italian Taycan owners in 2021. The club's inaugural tour brought together 131 participants and 73 vehicles — a mix of 42 Taycans and 31 Macan Electrics, including two Taycan Turbo GT Weissach models — on a multi-day Alpine drive from Porsche Experience Center Franciacorta in northern Italy to the Hans Peter Porsche Traumwerk museum near Salzburg, Austria.

The 2027 lineup also adds a first-ever iX4 coupe-SUV in two variants, an iX3 in three configurations launching in North America this summer, an electric iX5, and an i3 M60 alongside a full electric M3 positioned as the spiritual successor to today's M3 Competition.TESLA BERLIN RUNS HALF FULL AS UNION ROW SIMMERSTesla's Gigafactory Berlin produced 211,235 vehicles in 2024 against a stated annual capacity of 375,000 — a 56% utilisation rate — and output has since declined further, with the factory now reportedly running at around 40% capacity and BYD outselling Tesla in Europe in January 2026. Labour tensions are deepening ahead of works council elections, with IG Metall pursuing collective wage agreements similar to those at Volkswagen and BMW, while Tesla filed a criminal complaint against a union member and Elon Musk warned that "outside organisations" could hinder the site's ambition to become Europe's largest factory complex.T&E: LOCAL BATTERIES COULD CUT COST GAPA Transport & Environment report argues the EU can shrink the cost gap between domestically made and Chinese batteries from 90% to around 30% through scaled-up local production, with higher automation and lower scrap rates potentially cutting the gap to $14 per kWh by 2030 — equivalent to roughly €500 on an average EV. The findings align with the EU's forthcoming Industrial Accelerator Act, which targets ~70% local content thresholds for publicly supported EVs, though some carmakers warn this risks making batteries prohibitively expensive while T&E's Julia Poliscanova calls it "a sovereignty premium worth paying," particularly given China's export restrictions on critical minerals.TRIBUNAL BACKS 5% VAT ON SOME PUBLIC CHARGINGA UK tax tribunal has ruled against HMRC in a case brought by community charging operator Charge My Street, finding that a de-minimis clause in the VAT Act 1994 — capping "domestic" supplies at 1,000 kWh per month per customer — can qualify most neighbourhood charge points for the 5% reduced VAT rate rather than the 20% rate currently applied to public charging. The ruling is significant for drivers without off-street parking, though it also raises commercial complications, as many charge point operators have multi-year contracts priced on 20% VAT, and it opens the door to networks gaming the threshold by splitting sites or charger banks into separate "premises".ŠKODA OPENS €205M CTP BATTERY PLANT IN CZECHIAŠkoda has opened a €205 million (~$216M), 55,000 m² battery production facility at Mladá Boleslav, making it the Volkswagen Group's largest BEV battery system site and the first VW Group plant in Europe to manufacture cell-to-pack (CTP) systems at scale. The line produces over 1,100 battery systems per day — targeting up to 335,000 annually — and Škoda's switch to LFP cells has cut battery production costs by 30% compared to its previous MEB systems.MG CLOSES IN ON EUROPEAN FACTORY PLANMG has narrowed its European factory search to five countries, aiming to begin production by 2027 to circumvent the EU's 45% tariff on Chinese-built BEVs — a levy that caused MG's European BEV sales to fall 33% to 48,479 units last year, even as overall European sales rose 26% to 307,282 units in 2025. MG Europe head William Wang declared "it's time to build local," positioning the brand as a European marque rather than a Chinese import, as rivals BYD, Chery, and Leapmotor also race to establish European manufacturing footholds.CITROËN UPDATES C5 AIRCROSS PHEV FOR EURO 7Citroën has refreshed the C5 Aircross plug-in hybrid with a new 21.5 kWh battery (17.8 kWh usable), delivering up to 96 km (60 miles) of WLTP combined electric range — a 33% improvement over the outgoing model and ahead of rivals like the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 (69 km) and Ford Kuga PHEV (64 km). Priced in the €40–50k range, Citroën positions the updated C5 Aircross as one of the most tax-efficient family SUVs in the mainstream segment across EU markets while still targeting Euro 7 compliance.CANADIAN TRIAL PEGS ELECTRIC SEMI SAVINGS AT $157,126A real-world Canadian trial by FPInnovations' PIT Group and Transport Canada tracked two commercial fleets over 12 months and more than 200,000 km of Montreal-area operations, projecting savings of $157,126 per truck over six years — described as the most comprehensive dataset of its kind outside controlled demonstrations. The study compared the Freightliner eCascadia (BEV) directly against the diesel Cascadia and found that despite the electric truck's higher purchase price, higher-than-expected maintenance costs, and lower residual value, a six-year saving still emerged and may prove conservative.DENZA D9 ELECTRIC MPV ARRIVES IN AUSTRALIADenza has launched the D9 electric MPV in Australia from A$85,990, powered by a 103.3 kWh Blade Battery with 200 kW DC fast charging, 11 kW AC charging, and V2L capability across both variants, all built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0 with a cell-to-body battery structure. The seven-seat, three-row cabin targets the premium end of the people-mover segment with nappa leather, open-pore white ash wood trim, a 14-speaker Dynaudio sound system, adaptive suspension, and second-row captain's chairs offering over 900 mm of legroom, massage, and individual screens.CHINESE CAR BRANDS SPLIT US BUYERSA Cox Automotive survey of 802 prospective US car buyers found the country almost evenly divided — 38% would consider Chinese brands if available, 39% would not — with Gen Z showing notably higher openness at 69%. Chinese brands remain locked out of the US market by high tariffs and software regulations, but cost pressure is a key driver of interest, with 68% of open buyers expecting lower prices against an average new car price of $50,000, while BYD has already surpassed Tesla in European EV sales.

Interest rates just went up again — and right on cue, everyone lost their minds. This week, we've brought in Julien Mougenot, Head of Dashdot Technology, to do something wild: pull apart our own original correlation research — live, on air — and break down what the data actually says in real time. We ran a fresh correlation analysis (literally 24-48 hours before this conversation) comparing median sales price growth against interest rates, interest rate changes, and M3 money supply across every major market in Australia. The findings? They'll challenge everything you thought you knew about the relationship between rates and property prices. Here's what we unpack: Why interest rates and property prices are actually positively correlated (yes, they tend to move in the same direction) The real driver behind Australian property prices — and it's not rates How COVID fundamentally changed the way property markets behave What compressed market cycles mean for your investment strategy Why chasing hotspots without a system is the new trap This one gets nerdy. There are heat maps, correlation tables, and a genuine live analysis on what all this data really means. If you want to understand what's actually driving the market right now — not what the headlines tell you — this is the episode. See you on the inside. --IMPORTANT: The Investor Lab is for educational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice. Introduction de la recherche hybride. Sam Piliero's rise from childhood entrepreneurship to founding the Moonlighters agency wasn't accidental—it was built on years of deliberate skill accumulation. Rather than chasing quick wins, he invested evenings and commute time into mastery while maintaining financial discipline, understanding that sustainable success requires deep expertise before launching independent ventures. This foundation enabled him to identify what actually drives advertising results versus what merely consumes time and resources, crystallizing his philosophy into actionable frameworks that separate high-performing agencies from those stuck in tactical minutiae. Sam's M3 method and seventy-twenty-ten creative rule solve the core problems plaguing most advertisers: misallocated budgets, improper audience segmentation, and reactive optimization instead of strategic control. He reveals that algorithms learn from impressions not time, that platforms like Meta have shifted back toward complexity requiring proper swim lanes, and that the biggest mistake brands make is overspending on existing customers while neglecting prospecting and retention. Critically, he stresses that implementation—not knowledge—is the barrier, and that authenticity must always anchor AI usage to maintain consumer trust and brand value. The Moonlighters agency scaled from four personally-referred clients to nearly one hundred by running ads for itself, sharing transparent case studies, and hiring exclusively senior-level talent despite doubling payroll costs—a decision that eliminated micromanagement overhead and dropped churn to 2.5-3 percent. The 365 Days of Astronomy, the daily podcast of the International Year of Astronomy 2009
Hosted by Chris Beckett & Shane Ludtke, two amateur astronomers in Saskatchewan. actualastronomy@gmail.com This month in episode 516 we talk about the many things to see in the night sky including, carbon stars, double stars, 24P Schaumasse is a Comet that just cracks 8th magnitude making it visible in binoculars. We also detail how people can explore Jupiter through a telescope followed by many NGC and Messier Objects you can see in the winter sky. Jan 1 - Struve 627 in Orion Colorful Double Star Primary Star (A component): Yellow, golden-yellow, pale orange, or sometimes just white. Companion Star (B component): Bluish, blue-green, lilac, or pale green. Jan 2 - 40 Harmonia at opposition a large S-type (silicate) asteroid located in the inner region of the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter. Discovery: It was discovered on March 31, 1856, by German-French astronomer Hermann Goldschmidt. Naming: It is named after Harmonia, the Greek goddess of harmony and peace, to mark the end of the Crimean War. Size: It has a mean diameter of approximately 111.3 kilometers (69.1 miles), making it larger than 99% of all known asteroids. Orbit: Harmonia orbits the Sun every 3.42 years (approx. 1,250 days) with a relatively low eccentricity of 0.046, meaning its path is nearly circular. Rotation: It completes one full rotation on its axis every 8.91 hours Jan 3 - Full Moon - Quadrantid Meteors ZHR = 120 in Evening for NA observers - Moon interferes They are named after Quadrans Muralis, a 19th-century constellation that is no longer officially recognized. Constellation Origin: Lalande created the constellation to honor the mural quadrant, a large wall-mounted scientific instrument he and his nephew used at the observatory of l'École Militaire in Paris to measure star positions. Location: It was situated in the northern sky between the modern constellations of Boötes, Draco, and Hercules, near the "handle" of the Big Dipper (Ursa Major). Decline: In 1922, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) omitted Quadrans Muralis when it formalized the official list of 88 modern constellations, reassigning its stars to neighboring constellations Jan 5 - Sig Orionis colorful double star Sigma Orionis AB: This is the brightest component of the system and is a very close binary that appears as one star in most amateur telescopes. It is actually a triple system itself (Aa, Ab, and B). The primary stars (Aa and Ab) are highly massive, very hot blue stars that orbit each other every 143 days. The outer component (B) orbits the inner pair every 157 years. Sigma Orionis C, D, and E: These are additional companion stars that are farther from the AB pair and can be observed with small-to-medium sized telescopes, making the system appear as a beautiful quartet or quintuple system. Component D is magnitude 6.62 and is about 13 arcseconds from the AB pair. Component E is magnitude 6.66 and is approximately 41 arcseconds away. This star is notable as the prototype of the rare "helium-rich" stars. Jan 6 - Regulus 0.5-degrees South of Moon Jan 8 - 24P Schaumasse Comet just cracks 8th magnitude, at Mag. 7.9 it is firmly a Bino comet Jan 10 - Last Quarter - Jupiter at Opposition - mag. -2.5, 46 arc seconds in Gemini GRS looks nice and Orange/Red NEB and SEB are prominent How to best observe? Powers/Filters/Bino viewers Book rec. Jupiter and How to Observe It by John McAnally - NGC 1851 well placed but I'd need to dig a trench to see it - Carbon Star RV Monoceros Jan 11 -Follow Arcturus into daylight this week - M79, M42, M43, M78 well placed Jan 12 - Lunar Curtis X visible Jan 14 - Antares 0.6-degrees N of Moon - not for us - NGC's 1807 and 1817 well placed Jan 15 - NGC 1514 well placed Jan 17 - NGC 2169 well placed Jan 18 - New Moon Jan 23 Saturn, Neptune 4-degrees S of Moon - 44 Nysa at Opposition M=8.8 Largest and brightest of Nysian Family of Asteroids It was discovered by Hermann Goldschmidt on May 27, 1857, and named after the mythical land of Nysa in Greek mythology - M3, M5 well placed Jan 26 - First quarter - Lunar Straight Wall - Eyes of Clavius Jan 28 - Jeweled Handle on Moon Jan 31 - Jupiter 4-degrees S of Moon - Crater Baily We've added a new way to donate to 365 Days of Astronomy to support editing, hosting, and production costs. On this year's final episode of The MacRumors Show, we take a look back at all of Apple's major announcements and new products from 2025. In February, Apple introduced the iPhone 16e, positioned as a replacement for the iPhone SE as a lower-cost model, starting at $599. It offers the A18 chip and a 48-megapixel camera in an iPhone 13-style design, but with matte back glass, a USB-C port, and no MagSafe. The device debuted Apple's custom C1 5G modem, replacing components from Qualcomm for the first time. In March, Apple refreshed several iPads and Macs. The standard iPad was updated with there A16 chip, and noticeably still lacks Apple Intelligence support. The 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air was refreshed with M3 chip, and Apple released redesigned Magic Keyboard for it. Apple also updated the MacBook Air with the M4 chip and introduced a new Mac Studio with M4 Max and M3 Ultra chip options. At WWDC in June, Apple previewed its major software updates for the year. The biggest announcement was the introduction of Liquid Glass, an all-new design language for all of Apple's software platforms. iOS 26 redesigned apps such as Phone and Photos, and added Live Translation with AirPods, a host of new features for Messages, and a new Games app. iPadOS 26 introduced a new, Mac-like multitasking system with windows, while macOS 26 Tahoe revamped Spotlight with a clipboard history feature and quick commands. In September, Apple released its annual iPhone lineup update. The iPhone 17 features a larger display with ProMotion for refresh rates up to 120Hz and a 48-megapixel Fusion ultra-wide camera. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max tout a completely new aluminum unibody frame with a large, full-width camera plateau and vapor chamber cooling. The telephoto camera received a major upgrade to 48-megapixels, with options for 4x and 8x optical zoom. The iPhone Air arrived as a totally new iPhone option, replacing the "Plus" model in the lineup. Sitting between the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro, the iPhone Air has a radically thin design with a polished titanium frame, and uses Apple's custom C1X and N1 connectivity chips. The device only has one rear camera, a single speaker, and supports eSIM only. All of the new iPhones feature an A19 or A19 Pro chip, Ceramic Shield 2, a 18-megapixel Centre Stage front-facing camera with a square sensor, and new color options. Apple also released updated charging and accessory products, including a new MagSafe battery designed specifically for the iPhone Air, TechWoven cases, and crossbody straps. Apple refreshed its wearable and audio lineups in the same month. Apple Watch SE was updated with the S10 chip and an always-on display. The aluminum Apple Watch Series 11 gained stronger front glass and a slightly bigger battery, while the Apple Watch Ultra 3 gains satellite connectivity for the first time. Cellular models of the new Apple Watches feature 5G connectivity. Apple also released the third generation of AirPods Pro, with improved active noise cancellation, a more refined design with ear tips that include foam, and heart-rate sensing. In October, Apple updated the iPad Pro, 14-inch MacBook Pro, and Vision Pro with the M5 chip. The new Vision Pro also gained a new dual knit headband, promising improved comfort, along with better battery life, higher-refresh rate displays, more rendered pixels. [We weren’t available to record a new show for you this week, so enjoy this rerun instead!] Clinical students are sometimes the only ones who have time to listen In the clinic, med students can feel like bystanders, but they can make all the difference for patients. M3 Jeff Goddard, M3 Tracy Chen, M2 Alex Nigg, and M4 Matt Engelken recount stories of the patients that stuck with them—some painful, some beautiful, and some just plain awkward. From OB-GYN to peds to the ER, they share how student doctors—who can often feel like tagalongs—can often be the ones offering emotional support, catching critical miscommunications, or just being the one person with time to care. We reflect on the pressure to look competent, the sting of lukewarm evaluations, and how one med student realized a patient wasn't constipated—just heartbroken. Also in this episode: talking to dying patients, babies are scary, and what not to say when to overwhelmed family. Send Kris and Rob a Text Message! On a cold December night in 1969, a woman vanished from her comfortable Wimbledon home without a trace. Within hours, the phone rang: a man calling himself “M3” claimed she'd been taken by the mafia, demanded £1 million, and insisted she would die if the police were called. What he didn't realize was that he'd kidnapped the wrong woman. This episode unravels the kidnapping and presumed murder of 55-year-old Muriel McKay—mistaken for Rupert Murdoch's wife, targeted in an elaborate ransom plot, and held at a remote Hertfordshire farm by brothers Arthur and Nizamodeen Hosein. We'll walk through the chilling ransom calls, the botched money drops, and the landmark trial that secured a murder conviction without a body. More than five decades later, Muriel's family are still searching for her resting place as new leads, fresh digs, and recent court rulings keep this case painfully alive. Join us as we look at the planning behind the crime, the police operation that brought the kidnappers down, and the emotional toll of living without answers when there is a conviction—but no body and no grave.sources for this podcastSupport the showJOIN THE HITCHED 2 HOMICIDE IN-LAWS AND OUTLAWSSTART KRIS CALVERT'S BOOKS TODAY FOR FREEH2H WEBSITEH2H on TWITTERH2H on INSTA
This week on America on the Road, host Jack Nerad and co-host Chris Teague dive into a feature-filled show that includes two compelling road tests: Chris drives the newly rugged 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport, and Jack gets behind the wheel of the refined and powerful 2025 BMW M340i. The pair also unpack one of the tech world's most surprising automotive announcements from NVIDIA, discuss a major tariff shift favoring Korean brands, and look at gigantic EV discounts. Plus, they cover the swan-song BMW Z4 Final Edition and comment on the new threats to racetracks that are looming nationwide. Jack also sits down with Tom Kearns, lead designer of the 2027 Kia Telluride, for an exclusive interview recorded at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Paris Chong welcomes back renowned photographer Jeff Dunas, who dives into the photographic books he produced during the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily from his archive. These projects include a small, limited-edition book with publisher Nazraeli called *Highway 61 to Honeyboy*, a Renaissance garden book, and a collection of his American pictures. He discusses the changing landscape of photo book publishing, particularly the unique crowd-sourced model used by Michelle from Minor Matters, who also designed his earlier book, *State of the Blues*. Dunas also reflects on his early career, including his widely known nude photography for Playboy while in his late teens. Dunas shares his deep connection to Leica cameras, which he has used since the early eighties, noting he still owns an M3 and M7. He highlights his attachment to the M9 Monochrome, calling it "perfect" for black and white work—like shooting an M6 with Tri-X film. He contrasts the slow, deliberate process of shooting with film (the psychological importance of a 36-picture limit) and the mastery of the darkroom with the current, faster pace of digital photography. He likens his new hobby of making sourdough bread to the focused, scientific process of working in a darkroom. The conversation also covers the Palm Springs Photo Festival, which Dunas co-founded and ran for 17 years. He proudly defines its portfolio reviews not as critique sessions, but as a crucial "job fair," connecting emerging photographers with industry people who could hire, publish, or exhibit their work. While the festival itself is currently on hold due to the high costs of maintaining its high-quality faculty, the reviews continue online. Finally, Jeff discusses his successful "Palm Springs Photo Festival podcast," which he started in 2020 to maintain a sense of community during the pandemic. On this loaded podcast Guitar legend Warren DeMartini opens up about reuniting with Stephen Pearcy to perform Ratt's iconic catalog after years away from the spotlight. He shares stories about their renewed musical partnership (which began at the M3 festival), the telepathic connection that remains intact, and his time recording covers and original material during his hiatus. He reflects on Ratt's MTV heyday, the making of classic videos like 'Round and Round,' his brief stint with Whitesnake, and his special musical bond with guitarist Carlos Cavazo. Then, Slaughter's Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum discuss their busiest touring year ever with over 50 dates. They reveal surprising statistics about their hits, with 'Fly to the Angels' reaching over 100 million views across platforms, far outpacing 'Up All Night.' The duo shares emotional stories behind their music, including how 'Fly to the Angels' once prompted a murderer's confession and they reminisce about their Vinnie Vincent Invasion days, their transition to forming Slaughter, and the tragic loss of bandmate Tim Kelly. And last but most certainly not least, Don Barnes, the sole original member of 38 Special, joins Eddie Trunk to celebrate the band's 50th anniversary. He reflects on the group's enduring success, attributing it to their truthful songwriting and consistent live performances. He also discusses their new album 'Milestone' - their first in 20 years - featuring a duet with Pat Monahan of Train and shares fascinating stories about touring with Iron Maiden, Rush, and Bon Jovi in their early days, his relationship with the Van Zant family, and how MTV helped launch their career. 237 Apple's brand-new M5 MacBook Pro has landed, and as always, the company is calling it their most powerful and efficient laptop yet.In this episode, Roberto breaks down Apple's official claims — including up to 3.5x faster AI performance, 1.6x faster graphics, and 24-hour battery life — and explains what those numbers actually mean for regular users and creative professionals. You'll learn:What's truly new in the M5 MacBook ProHow Apple's claims stack up in real-world termsWho should (and shouldn't) consider upgradingWhether it's time to buy, or wait for the M5 Pro and Max modelsIf you already own an M3 or M4 MacBook Pro, Roberto's honest verdict might save you a serious chunk of cash.
Jim and Rich review MotoGP Round 17 from Mandalika in Indonesia. After a season of relatively trouble-free speed and consistency, Marc Marquez was hit by trouble in the form of Marco Bezzecchi. It was something of a crash and injury strewn weekend with several riders missing. Through it all came Fermin Aldeguer, demonstrating why Ducati put so much faith into signing the now 20 year old. Elsewhere, Moto3 was boiling up to a big finish before the red flags came out for David Muñoz following a nasty collision with Adrián Fernández; The M3 race saw a deserving José Antonio Rueda clinch the title. Moto2 was a rather steadier affair, with the main drama coming post-race after a technical infringement disqualification for Manuel González, leaving his title position in the balance with Diogo Moreira. As ever, Jim and Rich cover the news and listener feedback. Thanks to Gareth Lock for his feedback and thanks also to Michael Leete for keeping former show host Jim Race in our collective thoughts. Real Life Pharmacology - Pharmacology Education for Health Care Professionals
Revefenacin (brand name Yupelri) is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA) used for the maintenance treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It works by blocking muscarinic receptors, particularly the M3 subtype, in airway smooth muscle. This antagonism reduces cholinergic bronchoconstriction and leads to sustained bronchodilation. Unlike short-acting anticholinergics such as ipratropium, revefenacin provides 24-hour bronchodilation with once-daily dosing. One of the distinguishing features of revefenacin is that it is the first nebulized LAMA approved for COPD maintenance therapy. Many patients with advanced COPD, physical limitations, or difficulty using handheld inhalers benefit from a nebulized formulation, as it allows medication delivery without requiring hand-breath coordination or a forceful inhalation. This makes it a useful option for patients with poor inhaler technique or those transitioning from hospital care. Pharmacokinetically, revefenacin is delivered via nebulization, with peak effects typically observed within a couple of hours. Importantly, systemic absorption is relatively low, but elderly patients or those with hepatic impairment may be more susceptible to anticholinergic side effects. Clinically, revefenacin improves lung function, reduces COPD symptoms, and can decrease exacerbation frequency. Common adverse effects include cough, dry mouth, constipation, and urinary retention. Caution is advised in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma or prostatic hyperplasia due to its antimuscarinic properties. Revefenacin is not intended for acute bronchospasm or rescue therapy—it is strictly for long-term, once-daily maintenance.
