Started in the depths of lockdown, Your Round? is an honest, open and funny conversation between two female friends who miss each other and miss the pub. Like all the best pub catch-ups, we'll be covering only the most important topics so expect to hear where Fiona Hanlon and Amy O’Hara stand on Connell's chain and whether 'lockdown and chill' is really a thing. On 25th May 2020, George Floyd died at the hands of the Minneapolis Police. As his name was added to the endless list of black people who have died as a result of systemic racism, the #BlackLivesMatter movement gained a groundswell of support on the internet and collectively shouted ENOUGH. We were nervous about having this conversation, worried about saying the wrong thing but understanding white privilege and how we uphold the system is the first step in breaking it down. Staying silent just is not good enough. So join us in our little imaginary 'pub' as we have the first of many conversations about the Black Lives Matter movement and how we can (and must) be better going forward. We’ve lost count of the days, lost control of personal hygiene and the pub is still not open. So with little else to do, Amy and Fi crack a can, sit back and have a chat about how their relationships are coping during lockdown, what the isolation dating scene might look like and if Harry Styles can save us all from the post Normal People blues. Say hiya to us here....Instagram: @yourroundpodcastEmail us: yourroundpodcast@gmail.comTwitter:@YourRoundPodFiona Hanlon @fionaradioAmy O’Hara @AmyRosannaOHara
Welcome to episode #1 of Your Round? Stuck in lockdown, missing the pub and each other, pals Fiona and Amy got together to replicate their weekly catch up, this time with a round of drinks at home instead of the boozer. Having both watched/loved/become obsessed with the BBC Three adaptation of Sally Rooney's novel, Normal People, we knew we needed a serious debrief on the show. In true pub-chat style, with frankly no authority or critical insight, we delve into why the show quickly became so beloved, who could possibly take issue with those sex scenes and why we're all so thirsty for Connell and his chain.
