A long, long time ago in a galaxy far away... but not the one you're thinking of! This week we watching 65 -- the hot new release featuring Adam Driver, Adam Driver's shoulders, Adam Drivers legs, and three women who were barely given names! Join your best friends Claire and Anthony as we discuss this story of two unlikely friends risking it all to shoot a T-Rex in the face with a geyser!
We're delighted to be joined this week by the incredibly talented Ellen Winter, musician, writer, and teaching artist extraordinaire! First, Zach brings us a Reddit query which we immediately decide is a horror movie, and what follows is a quest to decide just how weird a horror movie we're making. Then Gabriel puts us all on blast with the story of a specialized cafe for writers in Japan, and we turn it into a story that is absolutely not about writers but is about creativity on a deadline and a young producer who must contend with the most dysfunctional band of all time. Then Ellen comes back to us with an idea of her own: a short but evocative missed connection from Craigslist, which we turn into a twisted reckoning between Nick Cage and Cate Blanchett which is also obviously a meet cute; then we talk to Ellen about the importance of play and jam sessions to the creative process, how to get started and think about the component parts of a piece, and how to plug into what you're most excited about. Plus: a pre-wrapped A24 movie, an impressive amount of surveillance, a Miyazaki liminal multiverse, some perpetually too hot tea, and Adam Drivers all the way down. If you want to check out Ellen's work, go listen to Every Feeling I've Ever Felt, 36 Questions, and follow her on Twitter. C-G, Johan och Göran gör korstecknet inför Benedetta, Paul "RoboCop" Verhovens skildring av religiösa tvivel, böldpest och massor av sex bakom klosterväggar. Djupsinne? Provokation? Antydd kannibalism bland fotbollstjejer! En ilsken George Harrison! Samt pinsamma minnen från Bokmässan -89. Låt det aldrig ta slut!! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

On this edition of the Cinema Clash: the latest not quite a reboot, not quite a sequel version of the female-centric action adventure franchise CHARLIE’S ANGELS; Oscar-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale fuel the testosterone-driven friendship movie FORD V FERRARI; Adam Driver pulls double-duty in the gut-wrenching relationship drama MARRIAGE STORY and the based-on-a-true-story political thriller THE REPORT; Plus, a sad but true documentary about the rise of checkbook journalism, SCANDALOUS: THE UNTOLD STORY OF THE NATIONAL ENQUIRER.
Steven Sodaberg's race track heist movie gave us the courage to talk in our real accents for once in our damn lives as we thoroughly cover Logan Lucky! Channing Tatum was brothers with Adam Drivers and Riley Keough and Seth MacFarlane and Katherine Waterston and Daniel Cwaig and Dwight Yoakam and Rebecca Blunt and Macon Blair! And it's a movie! Plus he loves Neon Genesis Evangelion without reservation! Stick around after the show to hear us continue to talk about the movie for an hour! Cauliflower!
Hani, Marco, Jack and Schulz review The Last Jedi. They address why Star Wars stans and Luke Skywalker himself hated it, why critics and new fans loved it and of course Adam Drivers pecs. INDULGE!
It is now 2018! What a year it will be for movies! But let's not talk about that. Let's talk about the doozie of a year that was 2017. The world of Film and TV burst at the seams with content. You name it, 2017 had it. Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Power Rangers, King Kong, Alien, Blade Runner, Emoji, Apes, Baby Drivers, Adam Drivers, Jumanji, Beauty and the Beast...and on and on and on... Nathan and Kory are here to sort it all out and rank the best and worst of TV and film in 2017!
