2018 studio album by Nils Frahm

I have been having a hard time keeping up my mix output lately. There are many reasons, from too much work to too many concerts and social things to a pennant run in baseball. Also playing a part is me getting a little burned out on ambient music. There is so much of it released every week, every month that it becomes a bit overwhelming and it all starts to blend together after a while. I end up with little motivation to find another theme for yet another ambient mix. I'm sure I'll snap out of this funk but for now, Paul Asbury Seaman comes to the rescue! Just when I needed it, Paul delivers a fantastic berlin-school, train themed mix. As I've said many times before, I like Paul's mixes because sometimes they go in directions I normally don't go with my own mixes. That's the case again here with these berlin-school tracks. I like sequencer-based music but it's not a style I reach for often. And then I hear one of Paul's mixes and I'm like - "Why don't I listen to this music more often?" Whatever the reason, I'm glad Paul is here to remind us about how cool this style can be. Here's what Paul has to say about this collection: “No powerful locomotives this time. No high-speed rail or epic cross-country journey. Just a relaxed excursion through autumn foliage. All but three of these tracks are from 2023. Watch for the REAL guitar on ‘In the Fading Starlight.' Synth Replicants was one of my big/happy discoveries this past year. (This was one of the milder tracks!) Enjoy.” Thanks Paul! Cheers! It's been three years since the last season of Netflix's Stranger Things. Now with the 4th season upon us it must be time for a new mix - Stranger Synths 2022. Similar to previous version of Stranger Synths, this takes the retro vibe of the show's soundtrack and collects tracks that sound like they would fit perfectly in the TV series. I wasn't planning on doing a mix this time around until I stumbled on the opening track Cybernaut by Jonny Fallout. The track can be found on a compilation from Triplicate Records called "Protozoa." As soon as I heard the track I was hit with a great Stranger Things vibe so I knew I had to gather more tracks and put together another mix. I ended up going back to Triplicate Records three more times for this mix, using tracks from Hverheij, BVSMV, and Willebrant. Check the links below for these artists' album and bandcamp pages. All Melody is the latest work and tour by contemporary composer and pianist, Nils Frahm. This programme reveals the creative, emotional and physical processes involved when new material is combined with vast stage shows for an international schedule of truly daunting proportions. Captured during a number of visits to his studio, Nils opens up to his good friend, Sebastian Schipper, director of single-take Berlin heist, Victoria, for which Nils composed the award-winning original score. He also chats to his biggest fan, British TV, film and stage writer, Sam Bain. Not only does the show combine three incredible minds of music, film and TV, the audience is also treated to an immersive binaural experience, recorded at London's Barbican Centre during a run of sold out concerts.

For those of you who have time off for this Easter holiday and feeling bored, why not join us for a few hours, on our musical journey with the latest edition of Sequences. Out of the 18 musicians here, 11 make their first appearance. On the more ambient side we have Jeff Greinke rich textured soundscapes, Off Land’s dreamworld, the mysterious sound of Sampan Viking and Loomer’s sequential ambient music with him occasionally using the accordion, The melodic sounds taken care of by Nils Frahm intricate compositions, the lush cinematic worldly music of Sampan Symbion, influences of psychedelic from Harald Gramberg. and ex Kinetix member Colin Jordan with his new band Axxent Opaque. I would like to welcome three of woman on this issue, dark apocalyptic themes by Dalys and from South America Valesuchi & Sobrenadar rhythmical melodic tunes. Although not electronic, our vintage track comes from the pure mighty sound of the Baroque organ on the 1976 Hymns Spheres, in the hands of Keith Jarrett, who milks all available sonic features to mighty heights, the capabilities of this organ is beyond what is normally heard. Its finally here, the new Wavestar’s album, at the helm once again the delectable, charismatic, John Dyson, in company with Paul Ward & Stephan Whitlan, take it away guys. Drew and Travis spend their Super Bowl Sunday talking about an Elmore Leonard double feature: Tarantino's Jackie Brown and Soderbergh's Out of Sight. IMPORTANT THINGS Uma Thurman has accused Quentin Tarantino of forcing her to perform a dangerous car stunt that caused permanent injury. She has also accused Harvey Weinstein, executive producer of Jackie Brown and other Tarantino features, of sexual assault. Her account of these incidents is heartbreaking, but we urge you to read it. Nils Frahm's new record, "All Melody", is his clearest example of how a musical space can serve an artist and makes a hell of a case for why musicians should seek out the perfect studio to record their work. By making a space that fits for his creative style, Frahm found a way to give complex compositions even more room to weave themselves into the world while you listen.
