"Does the Bible Endorse Slavery?!"Although Christianity played a pivotal role in the abolition of slavery, we do find slavery in the Bible and examples of theologians who owned slaves. So how do we make sense of this? This is a question the AC team has received for years. Join Troy, Andy, and Wes as they unpack this complex and often misunderstood topic through examining Scripture and the character of God.
Although Christianity has significantly influenced many of Western civilization’s cherished ideals and values, it faces ongoing criticism regarding its truth, goodness, and beauty. Palm Beach Atlantic University professor, Paul Copan will join Mornings with Eric and Brigitte to provide a comprehensive, well-reasoned answer to these accusations for both the church and the broader public. GALATIANS 5:1-26 | MATTHEW 7:3-5 Although Christianity is classified as a religion, the Jesus we know did not come to start a religion. Jesus was not talking to His disciples about a religion, He used every parable to teach us about family and to represent relationship. As children of God we need to be careful because we start with relationship and somewhere down the line we all fall into religion. Here are a few ways to catch our religious mindsets: Remember that we have so much to work on in ourselves that we don't need to judge anyone else. Removing the plank in your own will give you clarity and the vision of love. Removing the plank is hard work but you have to be prepared to do it. God set us free from the law, for us to pursue freedom and the fruit of the spirit. Done focus on not sinning but focus on the freedom that God have us go step into the throne room of grace. The world and the church love to condemn those that pursue Christ. So if you ever feel like stepping out in judgment ask yourself how criticising someone is loving them. APPLICATION: Have you been judgemental lately? Thinking things like "this sermon is perfect for__" How can you begin to repent and ask God to speak to the areas of your heart that need strengthening today! PRAYER: Father forgive me for my flesh and my judgemental heart. I ask you to reveal the planks in my eyes so I can continue see your love more clearly. In Jesus name, amen.
Although Christianity began in a small location with a few believers, today you can hardly go anywhere without the gospel having had an impact on someone. In this episode we will talk about the biblical principle of God choosing the insignificant in order to complete His plan. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/discovergrace/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/discovergrace/support
In this episode of PGAP, we talk to Dr Paul Collins, former head of the religion and ethics department in the ABC. He is well known as a commentator on Catholicism and the papacy and also has a strong interest in ethics, environmental and population issues. Paul Collins is also patron of Sustainable Population Australia. Although Christianity is not often renowned in the broader community for its position on reproductive health care or environmental concerns, Paul challenges this presupposition. He is unique in his ability to weave theology into a discourse on environmental centred ethics. PGAP interviewed Paul on the back of his new book “The Depopulation Imperative. In this episode, Josh McNall interviews Dalene Fisher about fiction, faith, and female agency. Dalene Fisher (PhD, Kent) is Assistant Provost and Dean of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Her new book (Resisting the Marriage Plot) explores the work of four beloved female novelists: Jane Austen, Anne Brontë, Elizabeth Gaskell, and Mary Wollstonecraft. Each of these authors appealed to the Christian faith through their heroines to challenge cultural expectations regarding women, especially in terms of marriage. Although Christianity has all too often been distorted to oppress women, Fisher demonstrates that in the hands of these novelists and through the actions of their characters, it could also be a transformative force to liberate women.

Less acknowledged, however, has been the role of the Christian faith in such works. In this latest volume in IVP Academic's Studies in Theology and the Arts series, literary scholar Dalene Joy Fisher explores the work of four beloved female novelists: Jane Austen, Anne Brontë, Elizabeth Gaskell, and Mary Wollstonecraft. Later we welcomed two fantastic daughters-in-law and four grandchildren into our family. After teaching history and literature for eighteen years, I resigned to write full-time. My preferred genre is Christian contemporary fiction. I keep my characters grounded in the real world and the real problems that Bible believers face today. While they grow, learn, and find possible solutions to their issues, my characters must also deal with the detritus of the past. Living well today doesn't mean that yesterday is erased. I write what I know, either first-hand or through close observation, injecting the joy, happiness, and humor that comes with spiritual freedom and love.Purchase Marbeth's book, Plague of Lies, here: https://amzn.to/3FtIjk5Support the Show:https://www.patreon.com/preacherboysPurchase a Preacher Boys shirt, mask, sticker, or other merch to rep the show! https://www.teepublic.com/user/preacher-boys-podcast________________Find more stories regarding the IFB movement by visiting:– preacherboysdoc.com– https://www.facebook.com/preacherboysdoc/– https://twitter.com/preacherboysdoc– https://www.instagram.com/preacherboysdoc/To connect with a community who share the Eric Skwarczynski and the Preacher Boys Podcast mission to expose abuse in the IFB, join the OFFICIAL Preacher Boys Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1403898676438188Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/preacher-boys-podcast/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (08/17/21), Hank encourages listeners to watch their life and doctrine closely just as Paul exhorted Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:16. If believers fulfill this mandate we can turn the world right-side up. Christ trained twelve men, and they, in turn, trained other men, and through the power of spiritual multiplication, they transformed the Roman Empire. Although Christianity is crumbling all over the world, we will be called to give an account for what we did at this crucial juncture in history.Hank also answers the following questions:What does 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 teach about the rapture?Did Jesus realize He was the Messiah during Holy Week?Is stress caused by rejecting the light of the Lord? Why didn't Jesus teach His disciples to end their prayers in His name?Is Allah the name of God in the Bible?
James 1:12Christianity in practice is a struggle. A practicing Christian is one who applies the principles of Christianity to everyday life. Living out your faith is a difficult task. The Christian life is full of trials, tests, and temptations. Although Christianity in context presents much resistance, those who remain steadfast through the struggle that receive the reward of following Christ. As a Christian you will not be judged by how you respond in a perfect environment. You will be judged by how you handle less than perfect circumstances.
There is a remarkable passage in Proverbs where cosmic wisdom is personified in the form of a woman. Although Christianity has been very lopsided in imagining the divine as primarily male, this part of our Bible gives a creative opportunity to bring the feminine into our concept of the divine. At the end of this scripture it says that wisdom knows to take "delight in the human race." Dr. Jim Keck's sermon this week will lift up some of the delightful aspects of our humanity.

Although Christianity has a subjective quality it must bow to the subjective. Every spirit must be tested otherwise you become prey to deception. Truth must rule and it must be definitional.

Bishop Robert Barron’s Sermons - Catholic Preaching and Homilies
Although Christianity is the fullness of Truth, other religions, to a certain degree, participate in that Truth. The Magi, coming from Gentile cultures, seek the truth and find it in Christ.
