Zach “Indiana” Gooch, CST is an archaeologist turned surveyor in addition to being a Geoholics superfan. He spent the early part of his career traveling around the country performing cultural surveys and uncovering ancient artifacts for various projects. Zach has a great perspective on mentoring, educational requirements, what it takes to be a good surveyor and SEC football. He spends his days surveying and his nights programming calculators for fun. Rose Hart is a GIS Analyst for Stantec currently living and working in the great state of Hawaii. She has played a vital role in a number of unique UAV projects including mapping shore erosion and lava flow on the Big Island to remote bush plane airstrips in Alaska. Rose shares what its like to be an assertive young woman in a male dominated profession as well as some lessons learned while flying drones. We attempt to get an understanding of how lava changes the “ground” elevation and if it would be possible to rename a volcano Big Shoots. Robert T. Loane III, PS PLS has been working in the land surveying industry for nearly 20 years and is currently a Senior Survey Project Manager at Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. in Westminster, CO. Robert has degrees from Florida Atlantic (B.S.) and University of Florida (M.S.). He has been published in American Surveyor, POB, Vegan Health & Fitness and is an avid kickboxer, hiker and gemstone collector. Robert also shares how he has overcome being diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Kent requests cream chipped beef to be on the new Social Hall menu and reveals a new “quilty” pleasure. For our new regular time slot this month we will be featuring, Mister Lucky. Mister Lucky is an American rock band formed in 2013 and based in Phoenix, Arizona. Mister Lucky's music has been inspired by a variety of artists including Crowded House, Wilco, The Gin Blossoms, The Foo Fighters, and The Beatles to name but a few. Building on a foundation of Power Pop, their songs feature a variety of other flavors including Americana, Roots, Alternative Rock, and straight up Pop. Mister Lucky's repertoire is a collection of heart breaking ballads, uplifting testimonials, and songs that will make you want to get out on the highway and drive. The band is working on it's first full length record as well as playing shows throughout Phoenix and the Southwest United States.
