On this week's show we catch up with The Replacements' Let It Be Deluxe Edition box set, wake up to records we slept on from Jeff Tweedy and Hayley Williams and pour one out some musical icons who left us in the last quarter of 2025. All this and much, much less! Debts No Honest Man Can Pay is over 2 rock-solid hours of musical eclectica & other noodle stories. The show started in 2003 at WHFR-FM (Dearborn, MI), moved to WGWG-FM (Boiling Springs, NC) in 2006 & Plaza Midwood Community Radio (Charlotte, NC) in 2012, with a brief pit-stop at WLFM-FM (Appleton, WI) in 2004.

New year, new music. But what about last year's great music? Here's a last hurrah for some of the best releases of 2025. These are 20 of my favorites that I listened to on repeat in 2025. So many best of lists are ridiculously long with 200, 250, even 500 releases. What's the point? I like to take my time and actually edit it down to a managable number that means something. It's not easy, there are some bands that didn't make the cut, but were so very close and truly deserving. But not everything can be a favorite, because again, what would be the point? So here's my look back at some of 2025s best. “The 2025 Singles Release Retrospective” remembering April 2025!  Tried “Dave's Hot Chicken” yesterday. Was not expecting it to be a dry rub! The bird was full of flavor, but also full of tendons. If you are hand breading, pull the tendons before the coating process. The tendons made texture of the great flavor of the meat seem tough. The “Extra-Hot” to me was just over mild…but I do prefer “Wing Stops” Atomic or their Haunted Habanero! Not enough “Dave's Sauce” was issued…but even with this being just MY OPINION…the place was PACKED! Families, groups of friends, groups of co-workers. They must be doing something that the masses like. On a 1 to 10 scale, I give it a solid 7. But that's just me. They have just opened. On episode 351 we're joined by my friend Jim Lorino, the artist formerly known as Scoopski, from Philadelphia. I've known Jim since the early days of the podcast, and it's great to have him back. This time, he's here with his new band, DelCobras, a three-headed Power Pop monster that's slithering onto the Philly rock scene in 2025, the Year of the Snake apparently. DelCobras features Jim “Scoops” Lorino, Marc Schuster, and Nick Cervini — all three of whom sat down for this conversation. The band grew out of the live lineup of Scoops, and after an incredible year of shows, the trio decided to shed their old skin, and strike with a tighter, more aggressive sound. On the episode I featured their fresh take on the holiday classic “Last Christmas,” plus the non-seasonal rocker “Someday Soon” — both available wherever you stream music. In the episode, we dive into how DelCobras came together, talk all things Philly, and hear about their recent gig at a Christmas parade.
