It's Mike White March once again, and this year, it's all Chow Yun-Fat films! We continue the month with a film that not only features a chainsaw duel but also some great buddy cop action: Tiger on Beat. Starring Chow and Conan Lee, the two play cops who have been paired together to take down a massive heroin dealer. As hell breaks loose when they find a way to track the dealer which just happens to be his sister. It's a worthy entry into the buddy cop subgenre. The Projection Booth's Mike White joins Chris to talk about the film, the chainsaw duel, and Chow's performance. You can follow Chris Stachiw at @Casualty_Chris and the Kulturecast @kulturecast. Hallo zusammen! ON THE BEAT empfohlen: http://www.davidbordwell.net/blog/2011/01/14/planet-hong-kong-the-dragon-dances/
The HK 80's are in full effect in this '88 buddy cop comedy action film. Chow Yun Fat and Conan Lee work together to bring a drug smuggling operation/new wave band down.
More eighties badness as we review Eliminators! After the Mandroid is ordered to be destroyed he escapes only to come straight back to stop the evil scientist who should just be a plastic surgeon. Seriously, the guy is good.
