Alive & Vaccinated Review: Daniel Fernandes Should Leave Standup Comedy

Do I Like It?

I'm not crazy about Daniel Fernandes, but I have always appreciated him as a very sharp guy; a keen observer of society. I loved his podcast ‘You Started It' (not the online zoom call version, the OG, Cuckoo Club version).  Daniel Fernandes dropped his special 'Alive & Vaccinated' on his YouTube channel, to be viewed for free on a ‘pay as you like' model. This special boasts of having 'smart jokes'. But do these smart jokes actually make you laugh? And why do I think Danny should leave standup comedy? Listen in to find out.

►Check out our https://fanlink.to/Y0UTUBE for your audiovisual experience◄ As Charles Dickens used to say, Champagne is one of the most elegant extras in life. And London-based artist Nikolina is presenting the essence of an elegant Champagne: crisp downtempo grooves, with layers of nu disco and refined deep house textures. Nikolina has developed a strong passion for music since she was a child, taking her first piano lesson at the age of seven (and continuing for ten years). After starting her DJ career in 2021, she quickly became one of the most well-known DJs in Kiev, distinguishing herself for her unusual track selection, with a mix of deep house, tech house, indie house, and melodic house. She held residencies at renowned venues such as L8, Mantra in Odesss, and she was responsible for the soundtrack at Kiev’s fashion week. In 2018, Nikolina moved to London, to be at the centre of the European music scene. She is currently a Resident at Playa, was previously a Resident at Hovarda and regularly plays at Cuckoo Club. She has played at Boneca, Lost in Sound, Nowhere Events and Beats on Toast events and had gigs at some of the best venues in London, including Ministry of Sound, Studio 17 (Blanche London), Opium, MNK House, Blake’s Hotel, Mandrake Hotel and Sunday brunch at Restaurant Ours,. Nikolina has also started to produce her own music and is very excited to announce new releases soon. Past releases include originals and remixes on BE Records, Lump Records, Godeeva Records or Signs. 2021 marks to be a great year for Champagne! Thank you, Nikolina, for this exciting sip! This week, Alan McGee interviews British/ Australian stand-up comedian, poet, author and cooking show tv personality Stephen Belowsky. (Explicit Language/ Adult themed) Stephen was once described as a "train wreck waiting to happen", and he certainly delivers on each and every curve of whatever race track you join him on. His life has included a myriad of experiences - from his time at the famous lobby shows at the infamous Standard Hotel, West Hollywood, to his live talk show Authentic at the Notting Hill Arts Club and opening for The Charlatans at the Cuckoo Club in the West End of London for Death Disco TV, to most recently bringing his quick wit to Foxtel's Quickies in my Kitchen with celebrity chef Anna Gare - any conversation with this international hound dog will leave you wanting more. Stephen also released his book titled, "Stay Greasy, Baby" that has been described as a "Part riotous road trip in the Beat tradition, part sprawling picaresque adventure, Stay Greasy Baby is a true poet's search for authenticity in a world heaving with hucksters, fly-by-nighters and sound biters. “Our family moved from Manchester to Australia but I just couldn't settle and went back to England,” Belowsky says.
