A deep dive into the world of Duncan Lunan - science and science fiction writer near Troon, Scotland - We talk about everything from space object Oumuamua and the "Black Knight satellite" to the real story of tv inventor John Logie Baird...
Followers of the Black Knight Theory believe that there is a spacecraft or satellite of extraterrestrial origin that has been in orbit near Earth for 13,000 years and that NASA and several governments are covering it up. The theory itself has been taken from several different unrelated events and compiled into one idea. In 1899, Nikola Tesla received electrical signals which he interpreted as a series of numeric codes that were sent from Mars, and in 1927, Norwegian engineer Jorgen Hals also encountered a weird sound anomaly which led many theorists to believe that aliens were trying to get our attention. Coupled with the sound oddities, there was the belief that the government was trying to conceal the truth about aliens and their existence. Then in 1973, science fiction writer Duncan Lunan came up with a theory that took all these events and merged them into what is the current Black Knight Satellite Theory. He claimed that there is a 13,000 year old UFO orbiting the Earth and that he has decoded the signals from it in which it is from an alien race on a double star named Epsilon Bootis. The theory has found new life with the discovery of a photo taken during a mission to the International Space Station in 1998 of a black object floating in space. Is there an extraterrestrial space probe in our orbit? Duncan Lunan Joined Mysterious Matters to discuss the Green Children of Woolpit and many other topics, In the late 12th century, two very strange children came out of an ancient earthwork at the village of Woolpit in East Anglia. The incident is recorded, from different viewpoints, by two chroniclers both regarded as reliable. The children wore clothing of color and material never seen before, spoke a language nobody recognized, and were colored green all over. Later, when they had learned 'our manner of speaking and lost their green color, they gave an account of their homeland which definitely was no place on Earth.

Alright Higherside Chatters, if one digs through the vast fortian archives of this weird world you'll find all sorts of unexplained stories: From encounters with spirits, fairies, strange crafts in the sky, missing time, foreign beings, odd disappearances, and everything in between But there are few, if any, stories that your humble host enjoys more than the classic tale, of the Green Children of Woolpit. The story goes that in the late 12th century, 2 very strange children emerged in the village of Woolpit, England. Their skin was green, they spoke an unknown language and wore clothes of a color and material the locals had never seen. Weak from their journey from some mysterious place, and uneasy about any of the unknown food items presented to them, the young boy died- leaving only the older sister – who is said to have been taken in by a local, and eventually grew up to learn English, lose her green coloring, and speak of a mysterious land of perpetual twilight, on the other side of the long and mysterious tunnel she says that her and her bother traveled through. A provocative tail that leaves one with all sorts of questions, and of course uncertainty about the verficationality of the whole ordeal. Well, today's guest, Duncan Lunan, is not one to leave something like this so open-ended, and he investigated the story more deeply than any other person on the planet: he traced back the origins of the tale to it's sources, factored in the political climate at the time, examined the elite-class characters involved, noted some reports of extremely odd events in the sky that might be connected, and has drawn some different conclusions about what might be at the heart of this strange saga A seriously impressive undertaking that is laid out in his 2012 book, Children From The Sky, which clocks in at just over 600 pages. To tell you a bit more about the man- Duncan has been an active author, researcher, broadcaster, editor, critic, tutor, and more since 1970, with many contributions to fiction and non-fiction as well as 9 published books with interesting titles such as: “Man & the Stars, Contact and Communication with Other Intelligence” “Man & the Planets, The Resources of the Solar System” & “The Stones and the Stars: Building Scotland’s Newest Megalith,” just to name a few. A bonafide expert in Astronomy, Journalism, and the strange going on of Woolpit in the 12th century- gracing us with his presence all the way from Scotland, Duncan Lunan
++++++++ VIAS DE CONTACTO: Email: laclave45@mail.com Web: clave45.wordpress.com Google+ : podclave45@gmail.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/laclave45 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/clave45/
At Spring Equinox 2016, we attended the last public event at Glasgow's Sighthill stone circle, constructed in 1979 by local astronomer and science-fiction author Duncan Lunan. The circle has been removed to make way for a housing development, but due to public outcry the Council have agreed to relocate it nearby once the housing construction is complete. Duncan answers many questions about the circle's design and construction, and we talk to Kenny Brophy, the Urban Prehistorian, and Kevin Andrew Morris, a local artist who is co-ordinating a rather interesting art project in the circle (29mins, 20MB).
Host Paul Carr is joined by James Garrison and Tim Jones. Astronomer JL Galache of the IAU Minor Planet Center and author Duncan Lunan enlighten us about the threat that Near Earth asteroids pose to Earth and what we can do about it. Music by DJ Spooky, Jason Robinson and Erika Lloyd. Detailed Show Notes with Links
Is SETA really just local SETI? It makes sense to me, and to Alan Penny, coordinator of the UK SETI REsearch Network. We talk to Dr. Penny about the future of SETI. Duncan Alasdair Lunan, born October 1945, is a Scottish author with emphasis on astronomy, spaceflight and science fiction. In 1973, in an article in Spaceflight, the magazine of the British Interplanetary Society (BIS), he said he had identified and deciphered a hidden radio message sent by an alien space probe that had been caught but overlooked in the late 1920s by researchers who were studying the long delayed echo effect. Some considered the probe might have been sent by an earlier unknown Earth civilization, which was destroyed in the biblical cataclysm that destroyed the fables Atlantis.
Duncan Lunan is an author and astonomer, whose 2012 book ‘Children from the Sky’ explored the tale of the Green children of Woolpit. According to a 12th century folklore, two children – one a boy, the other a girl – were found in Suffolk, England, with skin and hair of a green pigment, dressed all […]
