Nina feels “more Zionist than usual” and Cori criticizes Israel. Then Nina nerds out on recumbent bike history and describes the DREAM BIKE she is finally designing, dropping names like Craig Calfee, Gardner Martin, Fast Freddy Markham, Tom Teesdale, and AD Carson, while only hinting at frame-builder she's collaborating with, Davis Carver. TWR Wednesday | The Groyper To Troon PipelineOn this packed and unapologetic Wednesday edition of The Whitfield Report, Sam Whitfield and the crew dive headfirst into some of the most controversial stories dominating the cultural and political landscape. The show opens with a discussion on the disturbing rise in mass shootings, including recent attacks carried out by transgender-identifying individuals. The hosts examine media framing, political narratives, and the broader societal implications of these tragedies. A clip from Gothics, a left-leaning content creator from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, is also featured as she responds to a recent hockey rink shooting in her district and the political fallout that followed. From there, the conversation widens into cultural critique, with strong commentary on what the hosts describe as overt occult and Satanic symbolism in entertainment and public life — including a look back at Beyoncé's Super Bowl halftime performance as a cultural flashpoint. At the halfway mark, Sam provides an exciting update on his upcoming novel, American Inferno, Book Five in the Shadows of Deception saga. Listeners get a preview of the audiobook introduction, narrated by Doug Green, and details on the March 10th paperback and e-book release. If you've been following John Ryder's journey, this is a must-hear segment. The conversation then shifts to the long-anticipated Epstein Files and the online frenzy over who is named. The hosts clarify an important distinction: being mentioned in documents does not automatically imply wrongdoing. They break down the case of “Grim Jim” as an example of how online speculation can spiral out of control.Other topics include:The role of AI in modern content creation — and why human creativity still matters, even when using tools like ChatGPT and Canva.Ongoing tensions with controversial figure Johnny Fox and allegations of “review bombing” targeting Sam's work.Minnesota's government fraud crisis and its impact on taxpayers and vulnerable communities who rely on public assistance programs. As always, The Whitfield Report blends culture, politics, media analysis, and independent publishing updates — all through the lens of free speech and the Right To Offend.Buckle up.Please Support The Show:Sam's Substack: https://samwhitfield.substack.com/Rumble: https://rumble.com/user/TheWhitfieldReport2nd YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@WhitfieldReportReloadedKick Channel: https://kick.com/whitfieldreportSam's Amazon Author Page: https://www.amazon.com/stores/Sam-Whitfield/author/B00M1DNU88?ref=ap_rdr&store_ref=ap_rdr&isDramIntegrated=true&shoppingPortalEnabled=trueSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4DIcoDO0BIDyuH7SWIsAB8?si=8c06106f817d4eebAmerican Instinct Pulp Adventures: https://americaninstinct.substack.comFollow Sam on X and Instagram @SamW_NGCFollow Right To Offend Media on X @RTOMediaBuy Me A Coffee: https://buymeacoffee.com/whitfieldreport
Minu isiklikule elukäigule on viimasel viiel aastal kõige käegakatsutavamat mõju avaldanud inglise kirjaniku Paul Kingsnorthi silmiavav essee „The Cross and the Machine“ [1]. Kuivõrd mul õnnestus koroonaaja kõige süngematel kuudel säilitada terve mõistus – nii nagu mina sellest aru saan – suures osas tänu Kingsnorthilt saadud intellektuaalsele ja spirituaalsele toetusele, olen temast hiljuti omajagu juttu teinud. 2022. aasta augustis intervjueerisin ma teda Tähenduse teejuhtide 22. numbri tarvis („Stsientism ja seks“ [2]), sama aasta sügisel vestlesime Kingsnorthi kahest esseest „What Progress Wants“ [3] ja „Exodus“ vastavalt Mikael Raihhelgauzi ja Andres Reimanni (TT#167) ning Aleksander Eeri Laupmaa ja Kaarel Otsaga (TT#170). 2024. aasta mais osales Paul Kingsnorth meie kutsel Tallinnas toimunud Aldous Huxleyle pühendatud rahvusvahelisel konverentsil. Tema Tallinna kõne „Huxley and the Machine“ [5] on Edmund Burke'i Seltsi videokanali kaugelt kõige vaadatum video. „Minu arvates on iga kultuuri südamikus troon. Keegi istub sellel troonil. Meie omal istus pikalt Kristus. „Praegune atmosfäär on üha puritaanlikum. Tuleb öelda õigeid asju ja kui keegi seda ei tee, siis peab ta avalikult vabandama jne. Selles kõiges puudub kristlik võime andestada – see ongi põhiprobleem. Meie ümber toimuv meenutab järjest enam Inglise kodusõda, usupuhastust ja Kolmekümneaastast sõda,“ ütles Kingsnorth meie intervjuus. „Ma arvan, et see väide on suures pildis tõene,“ vastas Varro Vooglaid. „Euroopa suurim traagika seisneb minu arvates praegu selles, et olukorras, kus see on enda kristlikust identiteedist lahti öelnud, on peaaegu paratamatu, et tühja koha täidab riigikultus ja sellest võrsuv totalitarism.“ Kingsnorth kasutab siinkohal laia tähendusväljaga metafoori „Masin“ – ta mõistab selle all lugu, milles me elame. „See on lugu revolutsioonist, mille lõppeesmärgiks on minu arusaamist mööda looduse asendamine tehnoloogiaga ja maailma ümberehitamine inimese näo järgi. Me tahame ellu viia oma kõige vanema unistuse: muutuda jumalateks.“Ahto Lobjakas oli pannud näpu meie mehaanilise elutunnetusele juba paarkümmend minutit varem (76. minut): „Meil valitseb masinlik riigi ja ühiskonna kontseptsioon.“ See hakkas tema sõnul koos rahvuslusega kuju võtma 19. sajandi alguse Napoleoni sõdades. „Saksamaal olid [Johann Gottlieb, H.] Fichte ja teised inimesed, kelle ideid loeti kehvas saksa keeles Tšehhi-, Eesti- ja Liivimaal, kus hakati seejärel ehitama saksa ainetel väiksemaid rahvusi.“ Tulemuseks on Ahto hinnangul masinlikule maailmatajule rajatud ühiskonna- ja riigimudel: „Ühiskond peab koosnema ühesugustest, kergesti vahetatavatest osakestest ning olema vajadusel kiiresti mobiliseeritav.“ Piirjuhtumiks on siin teadagi sõda, olgu see siis parajasti batsilli või Putiniga.Kingsnorthi sõnul valmistub seesama masinlik mudel meid nüüd nahka pistma. „Järele on jäänud veel üks küsimus: kas me laseme tal seda teha,“ kirjutab Kingsnorth essee „What Progress Wants“ lõpulauses.Head uudistamist!Hardo––––––––––––––[1] https://www.paulkingsnorth.net/cross[2] https://teejuhid.postimees.ee/7587055/intervjuu-hardo-pajula-intervjuu-paul-kingsnorthiga-stsientism-ja-seks[3] https://paulkingsnorth.substack.com/p/what-progress-wants[4] https://paulkingsnorth.substack.com/p/exodus[5] https://youtu.be/yy_iTsCleGA?si=QHxxdALIqV0GWpNc&t=3[6] https://youtu.be/AygzBvFDyzA?si=7RZMCvZtJVUnngSw&t=1 Hosted on Acast. The private club world and the boutique resort world often feel like parallel industries—adjacent, similar, yet fundamentally different in culture, expectations, and operations. Every so often, we meet a leader who straddles both worlds daily, offering a rare perspective on how racquets programming evolves when a facility must serve two distinct audiences at once. In this week's BeyondTheBaselines.com podcast, we sit down with Dave Neuhart, Director of Racquets at Innisbrook Golf Resort on Florida's Gulf Coast. Innisbrook is not your typical resort. While it welcomes a steady flow of guests who stay for a week or two and move on, it also maintains a robust year-round membership. The result? A racquets environment that blends the pulse of a resort with the continuity of a private club. Dave walks us through how he manages this hybrid model—running programming simultaneously for resort guests and full-time members across pickleball, racquetball, table tennis, tennis, and soon, padel. From themed live-ball sessions built around holidays to the planning of club championships, he shares how he keeps both groups engaged without compromising the identity of either. We also dive into the strategic side of racquets management. Dave discusses the growth of league play at Innisbrook—seventeen teams strong—and how his “Awesome August” initiative boosted participation with four weeks of tactics-and-strategy sessions and creative prize incentives, capturing 60 percent of all league players. Finally, Dave offers insights into reporting into a corporate ownership structure under Salamander Investments, and what profit-and-loss scrutiny means for departments that straddle hospitality and sport. We even explore the broader industry landscape, including the acquisitions of Peter Burwash International and Cliff Drysdale Management by Troon, and how such consolidations may shape the future of racquets operations nationwide. It's a thoughtful, engaging look at what it means to operate at the crossroads of resort hospitality and private club culture.

He highlighted the impact of climate change on their region, noting less monsoonal rain and more record-breaking weather events. Moulton detailed their strategies for transitioning the course from winter dormancy to playable conditions, including the use of black sand and compost for snow melt and the monitoring of ice damage. He also mentioned their efforts to balance sustainability with efficiency and the importance of planning and flexibility in their operations. Also in the news … A Colorado club completes a multi-million-dollar transformation. The Pinery Country Club in Parker, Colo., created an open clubhouse flow that fosters a warm, social club culture. Andy and Brendan are soaring into the weekend after watching an awesome day of golf at The Open, where the wind came up again and brutalized some of the best players in the world. They angrily shout down anyone moaning about the draw creating a disparity. Then they get into the conditions that ejected Rory, Bryson, Tiger, and many more. They outline some of the older vets on the board while praising the work of Shane Lowry and especially Justin Rose. Scottie and Rahm are given their flowers, too. There's a brief Tiger chat -- what is he at this point and how should we cover him? A fresh new slate of games within the game are set up for the weekend, bringing the golf's biggest superstar, Marcel Siem, into the fray. They close with a few thoughts on some big name cut missers.
Who will cement 2024 as their year? Scottie? Rory? Bryson? Xander? Tiger? Collin? Another? Troon will be windy, rainy, and present many opportunities for disaster. Rory changed his phone number; London is cool; a UK Barstool Classic may be in the future; Jonesy is getting married; Tiger looks good. Andy and Brendan are buzzing after a bountiful first day at the Open at Royal Troon. They begin with the first tee time of the day, which offered its own stimulant in place of coffee in the form of Todd Hamilton's electric swing. This leads to a running Hamilton facts segment, some Dan Bradbury woe, Dan Brown praise, and Ernie apologia. They also discuss Shane Lowry, JT, and some of the other leaders on what was a very tough day at Troon, especially early. There are some ample course notes about the winds and the challenge it presented with a few specific holes that rang out during the marathon watch. There is a games-within-the-game checkin, and a few new creations, and best and worst surprises from day one, which put a certain Aussie in the crosshairs. They cover the disappointing days of Rory and Bryson and assess if they are completely out of it for the weekend. Just-A-Guy gets an evaluation after, who could have guessed, an up-and-down day. They close with some thoughts on coverage and a few awards from round one.

Brendan is joined by the inimitable Geoff Shackelford for this Wednesday episode of the Shotgun Start, and they begin by pondering whether Andy has achieved “America's guest” status. Then they quickly transition to the upcoming “links season” in pro golf with Geoff's impending trip to Scotland and with The Open and the Scottish Open fast approaching. There's a chat on the current issues with the Scottish, where Troon falls in the Open rota and what really works for it as a venue, and some favorite memories from walking the grounds at the 2016 edition there. Then they have a lengthy chat about the R&A announcing a successor to Martin Slumbers, what it says about the direction of pro golf, Slumbers's tenure, and what that new job must confront right away. They then bounce back to the last major at Pinehurst for some Shackelford thoughts on how the course played and a few spots that could be fixed ahead of the next U.S. Open, which is already coming up soon. They close with a few thoughts on Scottie Scheffler's season which dovetails into some big Open storylines and the prime contenders, namely Rory McIlroy.
