Sean Fox and his partner Zac Horton founded Mjolin Technology in 2018, after working together at Greystone Technology. We might call it a boutique IT agency, named after Thor's hammer! Sean's family has a long banking heritage, and before getting into technology, he was a Loan Officer / IT Administrator for their family banking organization - and he remains CTO today! We talk about a lot of nerdy stuff in this one - building and maintaining secure systems, common mistakes business owners make with their technology and security, and the attack vectors that ransomware hackers are using the most. And, we get into current events in banking and economics and politics too, there's something for everyone and Sean's one smart cookie, so I hope you'll tune in and enjoy my conversation with Sean Fox. In this episode, Curt enjoys time with Peter Melby, CEO of Greystone Technology, only one week removed from their 20th birthday! Peter shares important lessons from Greystone's founding and first years in business, and reflects on a business journey that has seen them achieve quarterly revenue growth for 50 straight quarters! Greystone is unusual for an IT company, first for its' size (~100 total employees in 4 locations at time of press!), but also for its' commitment to team principals and philosophies. They're a people-first culture in a world of software and technology, and they put their best problem-solvers on the front lines. Though they've built a great reputation and achieved consistency of growth only dreamed about in most companies, Peter also gets real about some of the missteps and learning along the journey, and the challenges and imposter syndrome leaders often face. This episode is chock full of sound business and tested leadership principals, shared by a humble guy who brought me a nice bottle of Irish Whiskey for the occasion!

Matt’s from Chicago. Guest host Mike Bloomfield, of MSP Tekie Geek, is from New York. They have firm opinions about hot dogs. Rich, who is from Seattle (where they like their hot dogs slathered in cream cheese) wisely steers clear of this debate, but joins in the conversation about ID Agent’s new identity and access management solution and ConnectWise’s strategy for weathering the COVID-19 crisis, not to mention interviews with Peter Melby of Greystone Technology about the MSP stimulus pledge initiative he’s spearheading and IoT Playbook podcast host Mark Smith about opportunities in the Internet of Things. Matt’s museum pick, by the way, is a brick with keys that was apparently once considered a laptop. No debate that it’s neither thin nor light. Today, an interview with Peter Melby, CEO of Greystone Technology, a MSP in Denver who has launched the MSP Stimulus Pledge, at www.mspstimuluspledge.com. The pledge states that MSPs will pledge to avoid layoffs, pay bills on time, not increase owners compensation, not make demands of vendors because of the current condition, and run businesses intended to create a strong foundation. This is my interview to learn more, as I certainly had questions, and there is my “why do we care?” segment at the end.
