Sign up for their hackathon here! Crypto markets this year failed to live up to expectations, raising questions about the trajectory for next year. The situation is further complicated by speculation that Bitcoin is about to kick off a multiyear decline in line with the so-called four year cycle. In this Unchained podcast episode, Delphi Digital analysts Jason Pagoulatos and Jordan Yeakley break down the market and applications outlook for next year. They look at whether the four year cycle would hold, what gold's run means for Bitcoin and the conditions that have led to recent market apathy. They also discussed whether the recent resurgence of privacy coins is a fad and who would come out on top in the race to become an “everything app.” Is the four year cycle the result of multiple coincidences? And, is X the dark horse in the everything app meta? Rachael Ardanuy is a purpose-driven attorney, as passionate about business and community as anyone I've come to know lately, and also an adjunct professor, Certified Jazzersize Instructor, and co-founder with her husband of Grow Your Own Fort Collins - a design and install firm focused on home gardening.  We traded some home grown gifts before the show, and enjoyed a lovely conversation.  Rachael came to Colorado as a marijuana industry attorney - helping with formations and contracts and navigation of the regulatory hurdles in the still-young industry.  As the pace of growth in the industry slowed - and regulatory hurdles in other industries increased - she has expanded to become a full-service contracts and counsel firm with a specialty in regulatory navigation. In this conversation, Rachael shares a lot about what you didn't know about the marijuana industry and the local constrictions to growth - and some ideas about what's ahead.  Smoking lounges, ketamine healing centers, and guided psychedelic journeys are all on the radar.  She's a smart cookie, and a lotta fun, so please tune in and enjoy my conversation with Rachel Ardanuy. The LoCo Experience Podcast is sponsored by: Purpose Driven Wealth Thrivent: Learn more

They discuss White Noise, a decentralized messaging app built on Bitcoin-adjacent cryptography and Nostr, and the Marmot protocol that enables secure, private communication without centralized choke points. The conversation expands into the broader implications of digital identity, metadata surveillance, AI-driven monitoring, and the shift from physical repression to financial and digital control. In High School Students Unite! Teen Activism, Education Reform, and FBI Surveillance in Postwar America (UNC Press, 2025), Aaron G. Fountain Jr. highlights the crucial impact of high school activists in the 1960s and 1970s. Mid-twentieth-century student activism is a pivotal chapter in American history. While college activism has been well documented, the equally vital contributions of high school students have often been overlooked. Only recently have scholars begun to recognize the transformative role teenagers played in reshaping American education. Inspired by civil rights and antiwar movements, students across the nation demanded a voice in their education by organizing sit-ins, walkouts, and strikes. From cities such as San Francisco and Chicago to smaller towns such as Jonesboro, Georgia, these young leaders fought for curricula that reflected their evolving worldviews. Drawing on archival research and interviews, Aaron G. Fountain Jr. reveals how teenagers became powerful agents of change, advocating for constitutional rights and influencing school reform. Ironically, the modernization of school security, including police presence, was partly a response to these student-led movements. Through oral histories and FBI records, this fascinating history offers a fresh perspective on high school activism and its lasting impact on American education. Learn more about your ad choices.

In this episode of The Loco Experience podcast, I sat down with Kevin Pallaoro, the CEO of Grass Fed Foods. Kevin shares his journey from growing up on a ranch in Salida, Colorado to becoming a leader in the natural beef industry.  Did you know that Salida was heavily settled by Italian immigrants? - well you do now.  We delve into the history and operations of Grass Fed Foods and its brands Teton Waters Ranch and Sun Fed Ranch.  Kevin's passion for healthy, sustainable food is evident as he discusses challenges in the industry, including the economics of beef production and honoring commitments to animal welfare and environmental sustainability.  Did you know that most “grass fed beef” in the US is fed pelletized grass in a feedlot?!  We also explored Kevin's family and career path, from financial roles in various food companies, including a season in Germany - to his current leadership position and how he ascended to the role.  Kevin emphasizes the importance of balancing work and family, and drawing wisdom from  experience and from mentors.  Overall, it's a rich conversation about values, business strategy, and the drive to make a difference in the food industry.  So please join me in enjoying my conversation with Kevin Pallaoro.  The LoCo Experience Podcast is sponsored by: Purpose Driven Wealth Thrivent: Learn more

This is a mix I originally created back in December of 2006, during my first year of posting mixes online. This one never made its way to Mixcloud so I figured, with all the cold and snow I'm getting in my neck of the woods, now would be a good time to resurrect this set. The original post here on the blog has a bad link to the mp3 so I wanted to post it her as well. It's interesting to see the artists that I was listening to at the time. Such as Freescha, Svalastog, Yellow 6, Klimek, and the track by Clint Mansell from the soundtrack to The Fountain, which I was absolutely obsessed with for a few years. Every tune has one of these words...snow, winter, cold, frozen, ice, or freezing, in the title. Btw, the pic is my mom, taken in the mid 1970s. :-)  Cheers!   T R A C K L I S T : 00:00 Scott Solter - The Great Cold 04:20 Klimek - Snowfall 1 13:15  Greg Haines - Snow Airport 14:20  Corker & Conboy - Colder 17:20  Clint Mansell - First Snow 18:20  Library Tapes - It was a cold day in February... 20:15  Loren Connors - Falling Snow 24:40  Yellow 6 - (The First) Of Winter 30:00  Svalastog - Snow Tracer 35:20  Taylor Deupree - Snow Sand 39:00  Last Days - Snowing 42:30  Outputmessage - Snow 47:20  Trentemoller - While the cold winter waiting 49:20  Brian Eno - Cold 50:40  Freescha - Frozen Stiff 54:15  Hammock - Winter Light 56:45  Forrest Fang & Carl Weingarten - Freezing Days 60:10  Boc Scadet - Ice Shelves & Glaciers 65:20  Stuart Busby - Snow Fall

We spend so much time trying not to age… but the real question isn't how not to age — it's how can we age well? In this heartfelt conversation of the HEAL with Kelly Podcast, I sit down with Dr. Kerry Burnight, leading Gerontologist and author of the bestselling book Joyspan: The Art and Science of Thriving in Life's Second Half, to explore what it truly means to live a long, meaningful, and joy-filled life. We talk about how to expand not just your lifespan or healthspan, but your joyspan— the quality of your days, your relationships, and your inner life. Dr. Kerry shares inspiring insights on how joy differs from happiness, why internalized ageism keeps us from thriving, and how autonomy, purpose, and connection become essential nutrients as we grow older. We also talk about what really matters at the end of life — and how to start cultivating it right now, no matter your age. A beautiful reminder that aging isn't something to fear—it's a sacred invitation to grow, love, and live more fully. Key Moments You'll Love ✨:
