French-based label Cielo Records is a techno project from JC Laurent that has so far been a vessel for his own cutting-edge ideas and diverse taste. Having over ten years of production experience to his name, JC Laurent has released on the likes of Coyu's Suara, Abstract Division's Dynamic Reflection, and Deepak Sharma's Hidden Recordings amongst others. Na Nich is a Ukranian artist who features with the solo remix here and can be found on the mighty Delsin Records, Svreca's Semantica, Viels' End of Perception and his own Rhythm Büro. Starting with "Comet" it's a melting pot of dub techno and modular sound effects with an ethereal, analogue presence. Second up is the "Comet (Na Nich Remix)" which adds an even more dreamy textures to some elements turning it into a dystopian soundscape. "Nothing But An Illusion" steps into a slightly leftfield approach with cyclical tones, shuffling beat and a sci-fi aesthetic. The final track titled "The Switch" is an overall deeper facet of techno that intertwines with a looming intensity. Episode #51 of the Meet the Locals Podcast sees the triumphant return of Steve Kirn with 77 minutes of quality underground, slow BPM techno. Just the way we like it! "So this mix is back to what I love to play the most which is underground techno. Since I do the vinyl and digital art work for the techno labels Hidden Recordings and Brood Audio I only found it fit to play a few tracks from those labels (a couple unreleased but set for a month or 2). This mix is meant to have a dark warehouse feel to it but I enjoy playing slower BPM techno. In the 90’s Mike Wall(@wallbrother) made his first experiences with electronic music. In these years, he started mixing tapes and playing his first gigs in the East Germany. But he released under the name Mike Wall for the first time on the record label Modulat in 2005, and since then things started looking up for him. In 2006, his début vinyl was released on the London minimal label named “Safari Electronique”, which is home to very talented producers such as Italoboyz, Delete and Arnaud le Textier, Cesare vs. Disorder, Christian Burkhardt, just to name a few. Since then, a lot happened and he released on labels like smallroom music, Hidden Recordings, Sleaze and his own label Wall Music. With the foundation of Wall Music/Wall Music Limited, he took a further step into independence and he began to push unknown artists and labels with the credo of having the best fun out of it. So far this year you could get hold of his new Album “DREI” released on Wall Music Ltd. Continuing representing local talent, in this episode we are very proud to present veteran DJ, talented producer, event co-founder, radio host, and close friend of Erratic, CRAFT. Man of many trades, Daniele Ciocio epitomizes true passion and unyielding dedication: he's been DJing since his teens, producing for over a decade, promoting events for 7+ years, and hosting his own radio/podcast show, Feed The Raver, since 2012 ––his most recent endeavor. His repertoire includes releases on Freitag, Hidden Recordings, Subtrak, Kaputt, and most recently, Reloading, to name just a few. The contribution to the latter was released just last month and mastered by Audio Injection, and has already received massive praise and chartings across the top names in the industry. This remix, titled Steady Balance, is included in this excellent 60-minute mix he surgically put together for us ––an introspective journey through the deep, the dark, and the cerebral. And we are extremely thankful for it. So Enjoy! TRACKLIST 01. Alan Backdrop - Nohim (Save The Planet Earth) 02. Marcel Dettmann - Range 03.
