This was my first time at Burning Man and it was magical for so many reasons. The morning of my set at DISTRIKT with Carl Cox, we rode out to the deep playa where my boyfriend of 10 years got down on bended knee and proposed to me, just as the sun was peeking above the mountains! The magic in the air was electrifying, I didn't think it could get any better than that moment, and then that same afternoon I found myself onstage at Distrikt, playing the music I adore to a crowd of burners, all so pumped to get the party started after a few days of bad weather! Handing over to Carl was such a surreal, special moment for me. I'll cherish that day for the rest of my life!

Pour commencer cette émission un peu spéciale, je vais citer notre directeur des rédactions, le grand Patrice Bardot dans l'edito du Tsugi N°118 qui mettait à nouveau en une un certain Agoria. « C'est une chance de notre métier. Celle de pouvoir rencontrer des artistes très tôt, avant leur éclosion. Et de suivre ainsi au fil de leur évolution les hauts et les bas de trajectoires souvent plus en diagonale que rectilignes. Alors évidemment, des liens affectifs se créent, mais appelons ça de la déontologie, même si ça peut apparaître pompeux, en essayant toujours de ne pas être aveuglé par le phare de l'amitié. » C'est vrai que les souvenirs sont nombreux avec Agoria, que ce soit ici à Tsugi ou dans ma vie d'avant à France Inter. Je me souviens d'un B2B improvisé entre Agoria et Ricardo Villalobos à Nuits Sonores à Lyon. Je me souviens qu'un jour dans notre bureau de Radio France avec Didier Varrod, c'est Agoria qui nous a fait découvrir le duo Paradis et leur reprise de "La Ballade de Jim". Je me souviens de mes larmes la première fois où j'ai écouté "Les Violons Ivres" sur son 2ème album, The Green Armchair. Je me souviens d'Agoria intarissable quand il m'a raconté son premier voyage à Detroit. Je me souviens de toutes ses heures à danser sur les mixes d'Agoria mais aussi d'avoir fait dialoguer l'entrepreneuse Emmanuelle Duez et le musicien Jacques à son initiative. Cette année Agoria fête ses 30 ans de carrière. Lui qui découvre la techno de Jeff Mills à quinze ans dans la maison bulle de ses parents, architecte et chanteuse lyrique. Agoria commence à mixer dans les soirées lyonnaises à 17 ans, il partage déjà l'affiche avec Ritchie Hawtin et Carl Cox. Inlassablement depuis 30 ans, il défend sa vision de la musique : exigeante et généreuse, festive et profonde. Il a participé à la création du festival Nuits Sonores, du label InFiné et avec les années est devenu aussi un formidable grand frère pour beaucoup d'artistes. Si parfois les routes se croisent un peu moins souvent qu'on ne l'aimerait, certaines relations remontent si loin qu'on sait qu'on sera toujours là l'un pour l'autre. Il y a un peu plus de 10 ans, avec la team Tsugi, je crée Tsugi Radio. Et c'est bien sûr Agoria qui en devient le parrain. Aujourd'hui Agoria fête ses 30 ans de carrière, et c'est une évidence de lui donner carte blanche. Au micro, au téléphone et aux platines ce soir : la chanteuse Phoebe Killdeer, Blasé, Mooglie, le réalisateur Olivier Van Hoofstadt. Des célébrations qui commencent tout de suite avec la sortie n°100 de Sapiens, un label pas comme les autres : We Were Little, un morceau qu'Agoria a réalisé avec le pianiste Rami Khalifé, Blasé et Noemi.

Markj is a Melbourne based DJ from New Zealand. His sound encompasses all things House, Techno, and everything in between. He runs a little project called Soundfood. This is where he simultaneously cooks food and DJs for his audience. Over the years he has been lucky enough to open for a bunch of amazing musicians, including Carl Cox, Seth Troxler, Moodymann, James Curd, Psychemagik and D-Nox. He has also had the pleasure of showcasing his projects at some incredible festivals, including Rainbow Serpent, Burning Man, Strawberry Fields, Rhythm & Vines, Happy Daze and Chi Wow Wah Town. In 2014 he released a cookbook featuring a group of musicians who all provided a tune to go with a recipe. Some of the artists included Opiuo, Spoonbill, Tom Cosm, Fiord and Mr Bill. For the last few years he's been working on a follow up to that book. This time to be released on vinyl, and featuring artists such as Doppel, Uone & Out Of Sorts, Electrocado, James Curd and K+Lab. Mark Williams is a veteran that has paid his dues over more than two decades on the scene as a DJ and producer. Since the 80s, when he started his career at UK hot spots like the Ministry of Sound and Final Frontier, he has been laying the groundwork for his future success. His production work has also gained him acclaim the world over and he has released a staggering catalogue of quality tracks on some of the most respected techno labels in the world including: Tortured, Dark House, Pure Plastic, Phont, Primate, and Carl Cox's Ultimate Trax imprint, to name a few. In addition to releasing on other labels, Mark also has his own imprints: Artificial Vinyl, Real Sessions, Macumba and Real Vinyl. Mark has also gained worldwide recognition with his skilful and distinctive DJing style. Mixing tribal, tech house and techno on three decks and CDJs, his rocking performances have helped him to develop a strong fan base and facilitated gigs in places like Spain, Turkey, Slovenia, Japan, Brazil, Colombia, Macedonia, and Sweden. His first major tour was in 1998 when Mark was asked to join Carl Cox on his “World Wide Ultimatum Tour.” In 2000, Mark became a resident at a club night called “Damage” in Dublin and later that year he supported Billy Nasty on his “Torture Chamber World Tour.” 2003 found Mark on his first “Ingoma Tour” with Ben Sims which culminated in a now legendary party at the Loft Club, Barcelona, the weekend of Sonar. In 2004, Mark and Ben set out for another tour to promote Mark's debut album, “A Point in Time” on Ingoma. 2005 was another banner year, with Mark playing at clubs, parties and festivals around the world including a set for more than 40,000 people at the Monegros Festival in Spain. 2005 also saw Mark bringing his sound to radio. The “Concept Show” (www.conceptshow.com) is a monthly broadcast that Mark co-hosts with Macedonian DJ Goran Kan. Some of the past guests have been Mark Broom, Paul Mac, Ben Sims, Cari Lekebusch, Oscar Mulero and DJ Bone. From the studio to the DJ booth, Mark Williams is one of the brightest stars in the world of techno and his list of accomplishments is impressive and ever growing. In 2007, Mark has teamed up with Paul Mac to provide a new way of presenting his music using a combination of three turntables, 2 CDJs and a laptop running Ableton. Sou Tai are intending to fuse their customary sounds to create something new and fresh. The addition of Ableton to the standard setup enables the use of custom edits of classics and to be able to drop all manner of surprises into the mix. Mark has also found time to create a masterpiece of an album that expresses all the sides of his musicality. His love for tribal, Detroit techno and house music shines through in his album “You can't hide what you truly feel” (out later this year) for the label Subject Detroit. So far Mark has soared to new heights, with Sou Tai closing the Awakenings party in Holland to outstanding reactions from the crowds.
