Interview with Arnaud de Korver. Arny is a transformational purpose coach who helps bridge the gap of internal and external selves. He helps individuals step into a place of leading by their inner authority and achieve mental, emotional and spiritual balance. Having worked in the events world for over 15 years as a project manager working 100hr weeks, he came to realise that this was not fully aligning with what his inner authority was and wanted. Arny's coaching utilizes a simple model that allows individuals to redefine their core values and lead from a space of internal truth. We all possess an internal intelligence that we often seem to neglect - however Arny allows his clients to discover themselves and from there on out lead from the inside out rather than outside in.Arny's clients include executives, leaders, entrepreneurs, managers, and family members and allows his clients to confidently step into each life area guided by their inner authority. In this podcast episode you will learn:✨ How to tap into who you are✨ How to let curiosity guide you✨ How to balance the feminine and masculine energy✨ How to listen to your inner voice✨ Tools to help you start the process of inner guidanceEnjoy listening / watching. With gratitude,Julia-----Shownotes:www.arnydekorvy.comInstagram: @arnydekorvyLinkedIn & FB: Arnaud de Korver-----

Catherine: Excellent, Arnaud. One of the largest issues I've seen with men is the over identification with “the thinker” - the thoughts in our heads. Many of us think that we ARE the thinker, not realizing that there is vastly more to us than mere thought. There are emotions, values, bodily sensations, interconnectedness, and the spiritual dimensions. It's a one-two punch between the Man Box Culture in which we are socialized and certain influential philosophers. Rene' Descartes really f*cked us when he wrote “I think, therefore I am” and thus separated mind and body for centuries. When we buy into this bullshit distinction, we effectively cut ourselves off from humanity with the belief that we are somehow unique, separate and wholly self-reliant. Yet, that's not how things work. And we do ourselves a huge disservice in terms of interconnectivity and, ultimately, happiness when we buy into this false belief. We must learn to balance head and heart, independence and interdependence, masculine and feminine. So how does one go about opening up the hearts of a billion people? And why? To quote Arno, “Can our life be just summarized by this constant ebb and flow of drama and joyful moments? Should we choose for it to be just that or bring some meaning to that flow? When we look back, can we find some hidden coherence in the series of events that makes our past? What would be the purpose of this life if not to figure out who we are?” Find out more in this fascinating interview with French spiritual teacher, Arnaud “Arno” Saint-Paul.Discover what Arno has learned studying numerous world religions, philosophies and spiritual teachings. In his quest to understand himself, he may be able to shine some light on you as well!About My Guest - Arno Saint-PaulAs a philanthropist and award-winning serial software, finance, and social impact entrepreneur for more than 20 years, living between Los Angeles and Paris, Arnaud went through his awakening when 13. While having a successful career in Finance and Technology across continents, he has been traveling throughout the world to study the different religions and philosophies in his relentless quest to understand himself. His life purpose is now to open billions of hearts and help them find harmony inside and out. Transcript:Hello, this is Pastor Don Willeman of Christ Redeemer Church. Welcome to The Kingdom Perspective.Freedom is a byproduct of virtue. And virtue is a byproduct of objective moral restraint. In other words, the only way you can be truly free is not by doing what you want, but by being the kind of person who does what's right. This is why the late Jonathan Sacks (1948-2020), the former Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom, spoke of “freedom” as a “moral achievement”.1 The Framers of our constitution understood this well. They knew the precarious position they had placed this new country in by not having a king or pope to restrain or rule over the moral behavior of the people. They understood that if the people did not voluntarily govern themselves before God, then this experiment in self-government would inevitably fail. As the great Benjamin Franklin put it:“Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”2This is why Rabbi Sacks spoke out against what he identified as the “idols” of our age: “self-esteem without achievement, sex without consequences, wealth without responsibility, pleasure without struggle and experience without commitment.” He correctly noted that such “relativism that tells us there is no [objective] right or wrong” leads only to nihilism, to meaninglessness. “A world without values quickly becomes a world without value” (Rabbi Jonathan Sacks). As the book of Proverbs suggests, where there is no object/divine moral law, the people become unrestrained (Proverbs 29:18). A world without objective moral truth is not a world of freedom; it is a world of chaos.Something to think about from The Kingdom Perspective.Proverbs 29 (ESV)16 When the wicked increase, transgression increases, but the righteous will look upon their downfall.17 Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart.18 Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law.19 By mere words a servant is not disciplined, for though he understands, he will not respond.References:1 Speech delivered at 2016 Bradley Prize by Rabbi Jonathan Sacks (2016).

What if you were given permission to shoot most of your film in one of the busiest and iconic streets in the world, Times Square. Well, today's guest did just that. He shot most of his new film Rapid Eye Movement. In the heart of Times Square, radio DJ Rick Weider is driven to the edge of insanity as he tries to break the 11-day world record for staying awake, under the threat of a deranged caller who will kill him if he fails. In his quest to stay awake, he endures a harrowing physical, mental and emotional ordeal while summoning the will to survive against all the odds.Rapid Eye Movement was given unprecedented access to Times Square by New York City to shoot the majority of the film right in the heart of the “crossroads of the world”. This included closing a lane of traffic for several weeks to accommodate the placement of the main set – Rick Weider's mobile radio broadcast booth where he takes on the 11-day struggle to stay awake. No film has ever had this extensive shoot in Times Square. The mandate of the film was to create absolute authenticity. A custom-made soundproof windowed booth was built to allow live audio recording, eliminating the need for ADR. Literally thousands of “extras” were always on hand to give the film scope and realism. The majority of the film was shot using an ultra-fast 18mm Zeiss lens, creating a much bigger visual space within the confined setting. No green screens were used for any of the Times Square scenes. It is a true New York film.Canadian-born actor François Arnaud takes the lead role of radio DJ Rick Weider. He embraced the challenge of shooting on location in Times Square, having to undergo a difficult emotional journey in the middle of the intensity of New York's famous landmark area. We always strove to be authentic and nothing is more real than portraying mental and physical torment in the midst of thousands of real people, the cacophony of the city and the dazzling neon lights all around. With the cooperation of New York City's Mayor's Office, The Times Square Alliance, a band of determined filmmakers, an exceptional cast and the enthusiasm of thousands of passersby who clamored to appear in the film, Rapid Eye Movement has become a unique and thrilling movie experience about pushing the limits of human endurance.Peter Bishai wrote and directed the epic true-life saga Colors of Heaven (aka A Million Colours). It is the winner of two South African Academy Awards, Best Foreign Film at the WorldFest Houston Film Festival and was the Opening Night Gala film at the Hollywood Black Film Festival. He also directed the comedy-adventure The Dueling Accountant, which won Best Comedy Film at the Philadelphia Independent Film Festival and Best First Feature at the Long Island International Film Expo.It is profiled in the book Fervid Filmmaking: 66 Cult Pictures of Vision, Verve and No Self-Restraint. His newest film is the psychological thriller Rapid Eye Movement. He lives in New York City.

Sustainability is overlooked by the market. Sustainable companies are undervalued most of the time. The financial headlines have done a great job of continually reminding us what a crazy year 2022 has been. It feels like every news show, podcast, and article has been quick to point out the calamity being caused by uncontrollable inflation and the financial chaos that will accompany an upcoming recession. Is that really the case though? The media's job is to get your attention. Viewership ratings are more important to them than accuracy. Their hyperbolic language, exaggerated market forecasts, and consistently slamming the "Buy button" come across like endlessly screaming into a megaphone. Perhaps there is instead a more diligent way for investors to interpret this unusual Year of the Tiger. Are financial metrics like inflation and interest rate increases causes for sounding the alarm -- or are they just reflections of the normal expansion and contraction of the global economy? Are consumers really running for the hills and burying their heads in the sand -- or is unemployment under control and are luxury brands still thriving? And how do those who are managing billions of dollars and investing it into equities actually feel about the status quo? To answer those questions, we've brought in a team of experts. 7investing CEO Simon Erickson recently interviewed Comgest CEO Arnaud Cosserat and two of his portfolio managers, Rick Mercado and Richard Kaye. Comgest is an independent global asset management firm based in Paris, who manages $35 billion and has a knack for finding long-term growth opportunities. In the discussion, Arnaud, Richard, and Rick shared their thoughts about the macroeconomy and why it doesn't have a significant impact on their decade(s)-long investing time horizon. They believe 2022 has given patient investors an opportunity to buy great businesses at very attractive prices. Investing is less about jumping in and out of the stock market, and more about "finding quality and managing risks". The team dug into the semiconductor industry and described several of the long-term trends that are driving it forward. Generous government subsidies and an increasing content of chips required in electric vehicles and in telecom infrastructure are leading to aggressive expansion of the semiconductor supply chain. The Netherlands' ASML (Nasdaq: ASML), Taiwan Semiconductor (NYSE: TSM), and Japan's LaserTec (TSE: 6920) might be good investing opportunities who are capitalizing on these trends. Elsewhere, Comgest also sees an opportunity for retail, especially strong brands who are built to endure. Italy's Ferrari(NYSE: RACE) has a captive customer base and a strong order backlog, America's Costco (Nasdaq: COST) has a membership model that provides resilience against inflation, India's HDFC Bank (NYSE: HDB) is capitalizing on a vast increase in mortgages, and Japan's Don Quijote (TSE: 7532) is the country's largest discount retailer. Investing internationally also carries its share of risks, including the ever-evolving relationship between corporations and governments. The team discussed the rising geopolitical tensions between China and Taiwan, as well as how "long-tail" risks (i.e. unlikely events that would have significant impacts if they occurred) influence their investing approach. Lastly, Simon and the Comgest team discuss how investors should think about valuation. Several stocks are selling at lower multiples this year than they did in 2021. But are they attractive yet for investors who have a ten-year time horizon? --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/7investing/message

People who come to New Orleans as visitors often spend most of their time in the French Quarter and pack their stay with excessive indulgence. They start drinking way earlier in the day than they do at home. They stay out way later at night than they do at home. And they eat meal after meal of New Orleans' specialty dishes, laden with cream, butter, and fried everything. If you talk to any of these folks on their way out of town, they'll typically look at you with the kind of reverence normally reserved for endurance sports champions, and say something like, “Man, I don't know how you live here.” We who live here tend to respond with the explanation that the French Quarter is filled tourists. Locals don't eat, drink and party like that. Have you been to Arnaud's restaurant in the French Quarter? They've been there since 1918 and built their reputation on serving a vast menu of French Creole fine dining - including 9 different oyster appetizers, 51 seafood entrees, 40 different vegetable sides, including 16 different types of potatoes. Arnaud's is massive. It's an amalgamation of what was originally 13 different buildings. There's a jazz bistro, two bars, and the main dining room seats 950 people. Yes, 950. And here's the kicker. The place is typically packed. With locals. Don't tell your tourist friends who you're trying to impress that you live an upright, healthy lifestyle, but there's more than a good chance you or someone you know has plans to go to Arnaud's - for a rehearsal dinner, a wedding, or just because it's Friday. Since 1918 Arnaud's has been owned and run by two families. First the family of the founder and namesake, Arnaud Cazenave, and since 1978 by members of the Casbarian family. The current Casbarians are brother and sister Archie Jr and Katie, and their mom Jane. French Creole fine dining is all well and good, but you can't eat like that every day. And especially if you're an athlete. Not just a professional athlete. Anyone who takes fitness seriously also takes their diet seriously. If you're a professional athlete, you have access to dietitians and nutritionists who craft specific meal plans for you - to maximize your strengths, and help bolster any deficiencies you might naturally have. For the rest of us, here's some good news. You no longer have to figure out your sports diet on Google. You can download an app called Eat 2 Win, the product of a company called My Sports Dietitian. My Sports Dietitian is set up to give everyone in sports – from high school coaches to individual amateur athletes – the same access to specialized dietary and nutrition advice the pros get. The co-founder of My Sports Dietitian and the Eat 2 Win app is Ronnie Harper. We hear a lot these days about work/life balance. The acknowledgement that there's more to life than work and money. The point being, if you want to be happy, you need to prioritize happiness. Apparently, the rest of the country just figured out what we've known for generations in New Orleans. It's part of the reason living here is so attractive. And so different from anywhere else in the US. We don't think there's anything strange about wearing a costume, or going to work on Monday morning and partying with our boss and colleagues at The Maple Leaf on Monday night. Similarly, we accept as matter of fact that we can live a healthy life, subscribe to a sports diet from My Sports Dietitian, and occasionally indulge ourselves with dinner and drinks at Arnaud's without having a melt-down guilt trip about it. Because, in New Orleans, that's life. In any other city Archie Casbarian Jr, and Ronnie Harper might be regarded as being at opposite ends of the spectrum. In New Orleans, they're two sides of a coin. Probably a doubloon. Out to Lunch is recorded live over lunch at NOLA Pizza in the NOLA Brewing Taproom. The US is trying to reshape NATO into an anti-China alliance while demanding that the EU join in. So far the US has been somewhat immunized from the consequences of cutting economic ties with Russia. For Europe though, the outcome of sanctions has been much more dire as winter approaches. A decoupling from China would be even more devastating to Europeans, as indicated in the recent meetings with Macron and Scholz. Is the EU really willing to commit economic suicide for the US as it's already doing with its Ukraine policy? To discuss this and more, Rania Khalek was joined by Arnaud Bertrand, a commentator on economics and geopolitics based in Shanghai.
