Fredrik chats with Dave Jones of Podcast index - a new open podcast directory and API, and also one of the drivers of a new podcasting namespace for RSS. Podcasting as infrastructure has not advanced much at all in a long time. Dave, Adam and Podcast index wants to preserve podcasting as free and distributed, and also advance what the ecosystem can be - such as providing value. The namespace contains down-to-earth things such as chapters and location tags, but also much more ambitious ideas. Part of the vision is to reimagine podcasting as a platform of value where listeners can more easily and naturally support not only podcasters, but also app developers and anyone else who might be involved. This is where the value tag and cryptocurrencies enter the picture. We also discuss programming languages a bit - what it takes to entice you to really get into a programming language. Perhaps the specific languages we use are no longer as critical as they used to be? How hard is it to set up your own podcast directory? Not that hard, says David, but keeping it within a sane budget can take some balancing. And if everyone supported Websub things wouldn’t be nearly as tricky. Welcome back to Meandering; Episode 45 kicks off with a discussion about Halloween 2020; some nostaligic memories, our favorite treats and tricks and our perspective of what the October tradition could look like in 2020 (12:00). We move along to early 90s TV show talk in light of the recent Saved by the Bell reboot and the guys go over their old faves including The X Files, MacGyver some mid 90s starlets including Jennifer Love Hewitt and Neve Campbell (46:00). Hot off the heels of our Social Dilemma talk we experience a strange organic internet search effect and we decide to experiment a bit more with it. We also comment on the recent Joe Rogan / Alex Jones interview from the Joe Rogan experience which leads to a discussion on cults and powerful personalities (60:00). That's where the fun and games end though.... as we all know the 2020 election is right around the corner and its a big one. We take a look at the recent happenings on both side and what the future could look like with either 70 something in power (88:00). We continue on our final week of election coverage with a discussion on the psyche of both the left minded and right minded hyper polarized political citizens in this country and talk about which side we trust more with losing and how both sides react to thing based on scientific studies and research done earlier this year and Sacha introduces his concepts for lifting the intellectual state of all American citizens by using technology (117:00). A deeper discussion evolves from the previous weeks and Sacha establishes an initial conceptualization of THE MINISTRY of TRUTH and the guys discuss how curbing misinformation can and should work in the future. A discussion of the current power hierarchy is talked about too and of course it meanders into a much more elevated talk on secret societies, aliens (147:00). In the final hour of this weeks show we tie everything back to some current event stories like Monkeys being used to slave for Coconut farmers and using animals for medical and capitalistic advances. We further the talk by applying the Law of Polarity and ancient civilizations thought processing when it came to putting humanity to work (170:00)

Cian downs a Theakston's Old Peculiar and gets a little serious in this episode about conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his frenemy and all-round bro Joe Rogan. See, conspiracy theories are no longer a silly fringe interest that we can afford to dismiss. They are mainstream, and are having serious effects on world politics. So we might as well understand them. And what better place to start than with the hilarious feud between Alex Jones and Joe Rogan? Alex Jones is a despicable human being. His worldview is dangerous and incredibly popular. We cannot afford to simply smirk because he sounds like a loon. Yes he says silly things about frogs, but he says not-silly things about people, and other truly silly people act on this. Joe Rogan is a guy who has a lot of influence, and should know better than to entertain Jones quite so often. Listen and find out why all of this is more serious than it sounds in a rather intense episode of WIDE ATLANTIC WEIRD! Now They May Bring Him Down Forbes: Alex Jones and Joe Rogan Made Peace With A Bizarre Podcast Joe Rogan Vs Alex Jones 2 (PingTr1P)

We are living in a crazy time where the future seems to be right at our fingertips but we squander our opportunities. Look at what Elon Musk and the Space X crew have done putting the first privately owned company's space ship to dock with the International Space Station. Then if you listen to Joe Rogan's interview with Alex Jones you hope to God that Alex is crazy, but you tend to find out that most of what he's talking about is true. It's terrifying to think of NASA as anything other than a purist group trying to explore the cosmos outside our planet, to find out where we come from and where we are going. I'll be honest, I think Alex is a bit crazy, and he may be right, which is even more terrifying. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/joshua-peek/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/joshua-peek/support

Talking about the suspicious suicides of two NXIVM devotees Kristen Snyder & Gina Hutchinson. Snyder was said to tip her kayak over but she was last seen in pants, a shirt and purple slippers. Who drives and kayaks in slippers? I also talk about the assertion by Joe Rogan & Alex Jones that NXIVM women's sought out and enjoyed their abuse. Be sure to listen to William Ramsey's excellent interview with journalist & NXIVM whistle blower Frank Parlato pinned in the comments.
