Get More LVWITHLOVE Content Guests: Ian Mondrick – Comic Book Author, Co-Creator of STASH BOX www.stashboxcomic.com In this episode of the Lehigh Valley with Love Podcast, host George Wacker sits down with Ian Mondrick, a comic author and Lehigh Valley native whose latest project, STASH BOX, is currently live on Kickstarter. We talk about how Ian got started in comics, what goes into writing a horror book that's equal parts terrifying and thoughtful, and how STASH BOX draws from both retro horror aesthetics and modern anxieties. Set in a quiet suburban home and spiraling into surreal terror, the book explores themes of identity, love, and transformation—wrapped in the gory fun of classic horror. You'll also hear about the behind-the-scenes process of comic creation, what makes Kickstarter such a powerful platform for indie creators, and why supporting projects like this matters. WDIY Lehigh Valley Health Network Wind Creek Event Center Michael Bernadyn of RE/MAX Real Estate Molly’s Irish Grille & Sports Pub Banko Beverage Company Episode Recap Comic Author Ian Mondrick and the Dark Side of Suburbia in STASH BOX “This book is for horror fans first and foremost.” Ian Mondrick opens the conversation with a clear warning—STASH BOX is not for the faint of heart. It’s violent, strange, and deeply unsettling. But beneath all the gore is a surprisingly thoughtful exploration of young love, change, and the anxiety of growing up in a world that feels like it's shifting under your feet. That layered tension—between blood and meaning—is exactly what STASH BOX was built on. From Script to Scare: Writing Comics from the Lehigh Valley Ian shares how his journey into comics began in the Lehigh Valley and evolved into scripting indie horror books like Tomb of the Black Horse and now STASH BOX. He breaks down the mechanics of writing a comic—what goes into a script, how he collaborates with artists like Frederik Hornung, and why writing for comics is not like writing a novel. “There's a language to comics that you have to learn,” Ian says. “It's not just writing dialogue—it's pacing, paneling, page turns. You're writing something someone else is going to draw, and you have to trust that relationship.” The Horror of Transformation At the center of STASH BOX are two characters—Harrison and Lou—caught in the kind of one-night suburban misadventure that goes from strange to full-on horrifying. Ian explains how the comic plays with body horror and psychedelic imagery to reflect the fear of growing up, losing control, and becoming something… else. “It's about transformation—physical and emotional,” he says. “And it's not always pretty.” The comic's tone is inspired by classic EC Comics, Creepshow, and films like Videodrome and The Thing. But don't expect a nostalgia piece—STASH BOX is modern in its themes, experimental in its presentation, and printed on retro newsprint to give it a haunting, vintage feel. Kickstarter and the Power of Direct Support Ian talks about why launching STASH BOX on Kickstarter was the right move—not just for funding, but for community. “When someone backs a Kickstarter, they're saying, ‘I believe in this idea,'” he says. “And for indie comics, that kind of support is everything.” The campaign offers a variety of rewards: alternate covers, original art, mystery sketches, and even a chance to have your own comic cover drawn by artist Frederik Hornung. It's not just a comic—it's a piece of horror ephemera for collectors and fans. Backing Creators, Supporting Local Voices Though STASH BOX is set in a fictional suburban street, Ian admits that its quiet unease and layout were very much inspired by his own upbringing in the Lehigh Valley. That connection to place shows in the comic's atmosphere—a mix of the familiar and the uncanny. When asked why people should support this project, Ian puts it simply: “Because you're helping stories like this exist.” Final Takeaway This episode isn't just about a horror comic—it's about storytelling, risk-taking, and the power of direct creative connection. With STASH BOX, Ian Mondrick is building something weird, thoughtful, and terrifying—and he's doing it from the Lehigh Valley. If you love horror, independent art, or just want to see something new, this is the kind of project worth backing. Back the comic or learn more at: www.StashBoxComic.com

I'm biased, of course, but this is a fantastic episode of the Cryptid Creator Corner as Jimmy welcomes Ian Mondrick to the podcast. Ian is the writer and co-creator of one of the Yeti's favorites, the Tomb series: Tomb of the White Horse, Tomb of the Red Horse, and Tomb of the Black Horse. Ian comes on the podcast though to discuss Mongoose: The Unconventional Art of Joseph Mondrick. It's 150 pages of unconventional black & white art created by Ian's father over decades that has been put together by Ian and designed by Jeremy Heiman. Ian's father passed away in 2020, but he left behind decades of illustrations. Ian shares stories about his father, their relationship, and what his father taught him about being creative. This is a wonderful conversation that covers comics, art, movies, and, of course, dads. The Mongoose campaign will be live on Kickstarter until January 27th. You can back the book here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ianmondrick/mongoose-150-pages-of-unconventional-black-and-white-art From Ian and the Kickstarter campaign: MONGOOSE: THE UNCONVENTIONAL ART OF JOSEPH MONDRICK is a book incredibly close to my heart. After losing my father to MS in March of 2020, I began scanning his decades of artwork to preserve it at my mother's request. That snowballed into the book we've already compiled, designed, and test-printed. Bringing it into existence was a victory in itself, but we'd like to see if we can share his talent with a larger audience, hence the upcoming campaign. The BBC reported yesterday that four people were injured as 5 horses of the Household Cavalry threw off their riders and raced through London. A video of the incident showed one black horse and a white horse whose breast area was covered in a massive amount of blood, madly galloping over the cobblestone streets. The fleeing horses are just one more checkmark in the ghoulish nature of the monarchy and their penchant for medieval theater. In the Bible, the Black Horse represents famine or plague and the White or Pale Horse represents death. It is a meaningful coincidence when you take into account how those in power use symbology to get the attention of the minions. When Artificial Intelligence first came on the scene there was a lot of skepticism, doom, and gloom. And for many there still is. Is there a place for AI in ministry? That’s a great question for Steele Billings, head of AI at Gloo. Gloo is the Church’s place to build a more connected ministry. We ask Steele: Is it unethical to use AI? Is it deceitful? Wrong? Steele shares the benefits of using AI as a sparring tool to sharpen our own thinking and enhance our engagement with people. He also shares the need for the our own God -given conviction around the appropriate use of AI. He shares his greatest concern regarding AI: That it would replace relationships. Conversely, one of the great things about AI is how it connects us to one another. AI is here and it’s not going anywhere. So, how can we use it to advance the Kingdom of God? Perry shares, “Regarding the resurrection, I want to know I’m not believing in a fairy tale, that Christ really did rise in history.” So what is the evidence? Last, If Christianity feels like a list of do’s and don’ts, it might be time to discover or remember your “Why?”Support the show: https://give.moodyradio.org/fall-share?v=def&appeal=MRWM&_gl=1%2a142i9we%2a_ga%2aNTE4MTE5MmUtY2U1Yy00YmQ3LWU4MmUtNjEwYTQ5YzAyODRj%2a_ga_4WH1937046%2aMTY5NTExODEwMS4yOTkuMC4xNjk1MTE4MTAxLjYwLjAuMA..&_ga=2.197426156.215784306.1695059984-1182841406.166859587See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Audio Intro: Brief history of the series... note that in this episode Jack Mather plays Cisco and Harry Lang plays Pancho. Jackson Beck was the original Cisco Kid and Pancho was played by Louis Sorin. When died at the age of 53, Mel Blanc played Pancho. On television and in motion pictures Duncan Renaldo played the Cisco Kid and Leo Carrillo was Pancho. Radio series ran from 1942 - 1945...producing 600 episodes! TV series was on from 1950-56... producing 156 episodes. The show was the first TV series filmed in color! The series was based on O'Henry's short story "The Caballero's Way" in 1907. O'Henry's "Cisco" was a murderous criminal...deemed too violent for a program targeting children... hence the change in the nature of the characters. This track will be living in the "Westerns" Playlist

#MONEY #NIGERIA #PROPHECY Welcome to The Master's Voice End Times Prophecy Blog: (Hear the words of the Lord). Today's word: Partial fulfillment of prophecy from March 2022: Economic instability in Nigeria, currency collapse, and a rogue government breaking the rules- but to whose benefit? Citizens are suffering as the old Naira note is retired in a terrible financial rollout that's left many without access to basic cash for daily life. Protests and violence is the response yet the government continues on even as banks shut their doors and ATMs. THIS IS THE GREAT RESET, nations falling under global policies that are not intended to benefit them but to establish the kingdom of the Beast [Rev. 13, Daniel 7] worldwide. Hear the word of the Lord. VISIT THE MASTER'S VOICE PROPHECY BLOG: the-masters-voice.com Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against PRINCIPALITIES, AGAINST POWERS, AGAINST THE RULERS OF DARKNESS OF THIS AGE, AGAINST SPIRITUAL HOSTS OF WICKEDNESS IN THE HEAVENLY PLACES. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Today's headlines could be taken directly from the book of Revelation in the Bible. In this episode of Finish Strong, Bible scholar John Hope explains the meaning behind the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. In 1983, Reverend Billy Graham wrote, “I have heard the distant sound of hoofbeats that signify the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Today, the hoofbeats are coming closer as we approach the end of time.As Christians, our hearts should be filled with anticipation and excitement as we witness the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy!Websiteffaith.orgFearless Faith Websiteffaith.orgTo leave a review - Open Finish Strong on the Apple Podcast app and scroll down until you see "Ratings & Reviews". Death is the great equalizer, a debt that all men pay. As our yearly wheel turns past Mabon (the Fall Equinox) and approaches Samhain in late October, we witness in the Northern Hemisphere three things: the Black Horse of Revelations bringing death, the ‘fall' of man, and the unveiling or lifting of the veil by way of apocalypse. But death is merely a prerequisite for rebirth and so throughout history death has been a central feature in human culture. Death is both part of the microcosm of the body and the macrocosm of nature itself.Skeletons, ghosts, death-masks, and other Memento Mori have always been reminders of the fragility of life rather than symbols or tropes of death worship. Instead, death is venerated alongside life as part of a cyclical process. The Freemasons have skeletons and coffins for these reasons, as do traditional Satanists of the Anton LeVay order. Death only identifies with evil when the cycle of life is broken. From the East Asians traditions of Jesa (any time) and the Hungry Ghost (August 30) to the Mexican Day of the Dead (November 1-2) and commercialized western ‘Halloween'. The Japanese Buddhists have Bon (August 13-15) and the Hindus have Pitru Paksha (September 10-25). They are all similar if not the same; honoring ancestors and the dead with celebration, food, and dance among other things. Laura Lavender joins the show to discuss Santa Muerte and the Season of Death (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/mysteries-beyond-with-laura-lavender/id1550240417)
In this episode, J talks to BlackHorse about capital punishment, forgiveness and life
In 2004, KT Tunstall was a last minute addition to an episode of Later...With Jools Holland. Her performance of "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" launched her career sky high, as she blew away the television audience with her inventive loop pedal rendition of this brand new song. The song was SO new and the demand for it was SO high, in fact, that the Jools Holland performance was featured on the first 10,000 copies of her debut album Eye To The Telescope because the studio version was not yet finished. In this episode, she breaks down the writing, recording, release, and legacy of this beloved hit single. He sees "The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse"... a White horse, a Red horse, A Black Horse, and a Pale Horse. What do they depict? Who do they impact? What percent of the earth's population is wiped out in the seal judgments? What can I do to avoid going through this cataclysmic holocaust? Listen to this episode and gain some Wisdom from Above!
