We are playing Tentacle City by Willow Palacek! The people of Tentacle Garden City are going about their ordinary and, let's be honest, faintly ridiculous lives. Lovecraftesque is a storytelling card game of creeping cosmic horror, emulating the tone and pace of eldritch horror stories. The game will guide you to create the story of a lone individual who stumbles upon clues to a terrible evil. It creates slow-building, brooding horror that the main character at first dismisses, until all too suddenly it becomes impossible to deny. The ending will certainly be bleak, and the main character is likely to meet their doom. Lovecraftesque is an emergent mystery game, which crafts a story out of clues that you take turns to create. The game includes hundreds of creative prompts to help you generate your story and guide the main character towards a confrontation with cosmic evil. You take turns to drip weird events into the story, building up your mystery one clue at a time. Each player creates a secret theory about the horror and the truth about the horror emerges from those theories. By the end you'll reach a chilling climax that none of you could have predicted at the start. A new edition We created the first edition of Lovecraftesque back in 2015. It was our first game design project and we were delighted with its success. It's received critical acclaim, won awards and gained thousands of fans around the world. But since then we've made it even better. The new edition gives your group more support for their creativity through prompt cards that help you get your story set up and populate it with interesting clues and characters. The story will seem to write itself. It will also include brand new card-based scenarios to get your story off to a flying start, and which you can also mix and match to make up your own weird tales. The game is even easier to play with the rules and structure of the game written into the cards and your progress tracked on the board, so you always know what you're meant to be doing. As always we include teaching text to make it easy for you to learn and teach the game at the table, and tools to avoid the stereotypes of Lovecraft's own work. We are also commissioning new art by Vincent Sammy and Paul Tomes to make the game look cooler than ever before. Lovecraftesque second edition will be available as a boxed set with the rules and all the cards you need, and as a virtual tabletop for online play. ********************************************** About us: Paco and Martin are a couple who love playing games and recording videos about them. Dezember 2019.Vielen Dank an Michael L. Jaegers (Jaegers.
Dezember 2019.Vielen Dank an Michael L. Jaegers (Jaegers.
Dezember 2019.

"Certain things, they should stay the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave them alone." — J.D. Salinger (The Catcher in the Rye) An abandoned factory turned Stasi prison is abandoned and ripe for development when the wall falls. What will be unearthed from beneath the layers of history? To learn more about how Lovecraftesque is played check out our primer episode. The Setup: •brooding & investigative horror •The former East/West divide in Berlin, Late 1980's/early 1990's •Main location: Abandoned Car Factory that later served as a Stasi secret prison, now empty •Additional Locations: a Beirhall on the Western side of Berlin, A rocky quay on the banks of the Rhine, A tiny Catholic church near the main location. •The Witness: Anna Schmidt - A developer, she scouts for real estate deals for a big french firm. She is here to check out the abandoned factory for possible purchase, demolition, and development. Anna is persistent and practical. She has face in progress and that gives her an optimistic philosophy. The Clues: •The Demon Key - it arrived in a black envelope and has teeth •The Ledger of Names - a stained tome with hundreds of names and coded annotation. •The Photo of a group of people taken at the factory - One person has their eyes open, they all resemble one another and each person in the photo is labeled with strange coded annotation. •A Large Inky Pool - a black liquid that seems to absorb the light, it is spilled out over the factory floor. •The Black Door - a massive barred portal, ringed with writing •The Body of a Person - It resembles the figures in the photo •The Clay Figure - a crude representative figure with a spiced odour •The Demonic Magic Circle - a face in the floor of the room behind the black door Find Sharang Biswas on twitter @SharangBiswas, and check out his game Mad Science Foundation Find John on twitter @LordJoho Find Ken on twitter @Berlingsbeard Follow us on twitter @boredghostworld Our Bored Ghost theme song is by the amazing Pat Cupples, see his band website Hotels and Highways. Michael Chabon is no stranger to genre fiction. He has a Lovecraftesque alter ego. He's written essays decrying navel-gazing trends in the short story world. His Pulitzer Prize-winning The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay tackled its larger themes through the lens of two comic book writers. So it should come as no surprise that in the early 2000s, Chabon took a stab at young adult fantasy with Summerland, a sprawling tale that mixes American folklore, Norse myth, and baseball.Listen on as Craig attempts to convey his enthusiasm for the book, Andrew attempts to name baseball heroes, and both of us attempt to (mis)pronounce Michael Chabon's name.
