Instead of burning coal to make milk powder, one New Zealand company is using geothermal steam. Miraka emits 94% less carbon compared to similar dairy driers in New Zealand.
The charity, Meat the Need was launched during last year's Covid lockdown. In its first 13 months farmers donated enough meat to make more than 430,000 meals.
As part of this week’s “Change Maker” show of Sarah’s Country, Wayne Langford & Siobhan O'Malley, co-founders of Feed Out discuss the new charity, an extension of the Meat the Need charity which feeds local families with milk. The charity will be supplying farmer-donated milk to foodbanks in the local district, providing much-needed support to a growing number of families in need. The milk will be sourced from Miraka supply farms, and Miraka will cover the cost of processing the milk into UHT packs at their Mokai factory. Graham and Tess Smith live in a beautiful valley 50 minutes' drive south of Hamilton. Their dairy farm is tiny by today's standards with just 83 cows but that's just the way Graham wants it. He also grows paulownia trees and exports the super-light timber to Tahiti where it is crafted into waka ama paddles. In New Zealand paulownia timber is used to make surfboards, snow and water skis, fishing lures and competition gun butts. Graham's also setting up a museum on the farm to preserve memorabilia from New Zealand's oldest introduced sport - Tug of War. It came to New Zealand in the 1790's with whalers and Graham's the president of the New Zealand Tug of War Association.
I honestly don't know what happens in this episode, host- Meso, Tom, Sumiki, Alena, Miraka, Brickeens
A really bad episode, but the Kanohi Journal ad is hilarious! Meso, Var, Eljay, Sumiki, Tom, Miraka, Alena, Kahi
Well I...guess you cold call this...a TTV episode. In this week, the folks talk about the weather outside (it's frightenin'), Eljay threatens to kill everyone with a ball-point marker, and we still can't seem to stop talking about them new-fangled 2011 HeroFactory sets. Var continues to amaze with Around BZP in 80 Seconds, and Eljay failtasticly sends us into nostalgia land with BioTalk (which also, ironicly, fails). We also actually get some mail this time from Toa Utah and Lord of Ice, and Eljay continues talking (yes, he's still going) by going to the Comics section, looking at the BZP Comic Makers advent calendar, made by Lavaside Rahi. Looks like we've got sections...all over the place. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAA- Hosts in this episode: Meso, Var, Eljay, Tom, Sumiki, Miraka

Also Tom reviews MOCs from Junkmaster and the legendary Bfahome (and gets a comedic interruption from Var whilst doing so). Hosts in this episode: Mesonak, Eljay, Tom, Sumiki, Miraka, and Alena (and maybe Var).

Both Meso AND Var decided to skip out on this one, so Eljay, Tom, Sumiki, Alena, and Miraka decide to have all the fun for themselves! In this funtastic 42 minutes of an episode, the peoples talk about minifigs, custom molds, and

In this funtastic 42 minutes of an episode, the peoples talk about minifigs, custom molds, and things they can't do; Eljay looks at the legendary comics of member lavaside rahi, and Tom looks at some fantastically put-together MOCs from members =Zion= and Fsnorglepuff (respectively). Also they make fun of Meso and Var not being there, so =D
This time, Var takes a hike but Miraka steps in for a change! And some stuff about Halloween that no one cares about.
