“What if instead of 25 clients in a year, you had a base of 5 clients you worked with over the course of the whole year? And instead of $5,000 per client, it was $100,000 or $75,000? You would have the foundation of a business that would give you peace of mind.” So many consultants come to me living in the land of one-offs. They might have 25 clients in a year, mainly doing one-time projects. One-offs keep you on the Revenue Rollercoaster, and they don't allow you to do your most impactful work. I too did one-offs for years when I first started, and what I saw was that the results my clients got wouldn't stick. There just isn't enough time in one-offs to get to the root cause issue and really solve it. I was missing out on the opportunity to make a bigger, more lasting impact, and to build a reputation for doing so. I want you to say no to one-offs—and that takes courage. However, if you keep saying yes to what you don't want, you're just going to keep getting more and more of it. Tune in to this episode of the Profitable Joyful Consulting podcast to learn how to escape the land of one-offs for a more profitable, joyful business where you can really shine. Key areas discussed: 0:00 Introduction 0:38 Living in the land of one-offs 2:42 Why one-offs are so terrible 4:50 How to turn a request for a one-off into a transformational engagement 9:12 What if you try to turn a request into a transformational engagement, but they just don't have the budget? 12:14 The deeper opportunity present in the discovery process 14:22 Visioning what's possible Watch this episode on YouTube: LINK or listen on your favorite podcast app: LINK. “By the time women are 12 years old, they have been completely trained with, ‘Say whatever you want to say, but don't upset anybody and be nice.'” - Tracy Goodwin Women are programmed to be nice and quiet, to ask permission, to be tentative, to make all these sounds that make a person go, “Nope, I don't want to listen to her.” We're often stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to using our voices and expressing ourselves fully. If you ask this episode's guest, Voice Coach & Communication Consultant Tracy Goodwin, we have to start on the inside to change all those stories, to change the foundation that was given to us that we never asked for. That makes your relationship with your finance business partner intensely critical for you to get both the flexibility and the support you need to build for efficiency and performance, with agility. Mark Koster, Digital Shelf Strategist and Ilse Goverts-Van Kesteren, Lead Business Consultant, at Wunderman Thompson joined the podcast to unveil the key findings from some new research on how digital shelf leaders are collecting the right data to demonstrate value realization, not just value targeting, in order to secure budget flexibility and a omnichannel view of the true impact of your digital shelf investments.

Fake Guru vs. Real Business Consultant | How to Spot a Fake GuruIn this episode of the Inside BS Show, hosts Nicola Gelormino and Dave Lorenzo discuss how to spot a fake guru in the coaching & consulting industry. They address the prevalence of coaches & consultants selling unrealistic dreams and explore ways to identify legitimate professionals.Dave Lorenzo emphasizes the importance of working with coaches and consultants who prioritize the client's needs and focus on delivering value rather than showcasing material possessions like Lamborghinis or private jets. Genuine coaches and consultants concentrate on helping clients achieve their desired results through expertise and customized guidance. One of the major red flags is emotionally manipulative language. Fake gurus use high-pressure tactics, trying to instill fear and desperation in potential clients to make a quick sale. On the other hand, legitimate coaches and consultants offer transparency and provide a clear roadmap for success, allowing clients to make informed decisions.Dave Lorenzo shares a personal experience where he demonstrated his confidence by competing against another provider in a sales challenge. Legitimate consultants should be open about their track record and welcome opportunities for potential clients to connect with past or current clients for references. The video stresses that hesitation or vagueness from a coach or consultant when asked about their background or success story, is a significant warning sign. A genuine coach will readily share their achievements and provide concrete evidence of their expertise and the value they offer.Overall, the key takeaway from the video is to be vigilant and discerning when selecting a coach or consultant. Legitimate coaches and consultants focus on the client's needs, offer transparency, and are willing to provide references to demonstrate their capabilities. By avoiding emotionally manipulative tactics and flashy displays, individuals can protect themselves from fake gurus and make more informed decisions in choosing a reputable and helpful coach or consultant.Chapters:00:00 How to Spot a Fake Guru01:41 Coaches Are Accelerants02:10 Red Flag: Focus on Lifestyle of the Coach03:56 Red Flag: Emotionally Manipulative Language08:34 Red Flag: Selling the Dream16:54 Red Flag: Vagueness19:28 Red Flag: Never Admitting FailuresAbout Inside BS Show with The Godfather and Nicki GThe Inside BS Show with the Godfather and Nicki G provides business leaders with inside business secrets to help them make a great living and live a great life.Since its inception in 2020, the show has been a valuable resource for CEOs and business leaders seeking the personal and professional knowledge they need to take their businesses to the next level while making the journey more rewarding. In this episode of the Seven Figure Consultant Podcast, I spoke to Fabienne Raphael, who was a successful athlete and became a successful business coach. This episode is one for women who aren't at 6 figures yet. Fabienne has some great tips on taking your business to the next level, sharing analogies comparing sports to entrepreneurship that you can apply to your business. Enjoy this episode and gain insight into achieving a six-figure income and your business goals. In this episode: [01:15] Fabienne shares her backstory and compares entrepreneurship to a successful sports career. [09:47] Explanation of anti-fragility and self-realization that I am capable, worthy, or I did it. [12:39] Fabienne discusses the need and value of a sports coach and how that compares to having a business coach. [19:56] How to avoid burn-out in business and the importance of keeping your goal in view. [27:33] Fabienne discusses mistakes entrepreneurs make, and she offers a free download called The Seven Crucial Mistakes that Stops Coaches and Consultants Reaching Six-figures and Beyond, available on her website. Key Takeaways: Entrepreneurship is similar to the sports world in that you need to stay on top of your game, and as with a team sport, you learn to work with all types of clients when you own a business. As an athlete or a business professional, you must decide that you “will” do something. Don't give up. Coaching is valuable for athletes and business owners alike. Trust a qualified coach to show you what you may need to see in your business. Quotes: “A coach brings the light to your life, right? Seeing where the hidden parts are or things you can't see for yourself.” - Fabienne Raphael “You show up to practice even when it hurts, and continue because you know it's part of the journey. Entrepreneurship is the same thing. When the vision is clear in your mind, you won't always mind doing what you don't necessarily like to do, but it will move the needle closer to getting you to the goal.” - Fabienne Raphael Useful Links The Six Elements of a Seven Figure Business – Free Download Get in touch with Jessica to discuss your consulting business Jessica's LinkedIn Fabienne Raphael - Website 7 Critical Mistakes that Hold You Back from a 6-Figure + Business - Fabienne Raphael Coaching Guest Bio: Fabienne Raphael is an online business coach. From being left at a yard sale as a 12-week-old baby to losing $160k of his own money in a failed company, Kyle Livingston knows what failure feels like, tastes like, and smells like. But he did not let his circumstances determine his altitude or success in life. From the lessons he learned, Kyle has since built three 7 figure brick and mortar companies and helped turn nine companies in the red to be wildly profitable. President and Founder of 7 Figure Industry Inc., a complete-turn key consultancy that partners with visionary Entrepreneurs to get them the grip they have been looking for. Now, as a Business Consultant and Coach, his goal is to help others turn chaos into profit.Kyle lives outside of Nashville, Tennessee and his expertise is really gamifying businesses and going into specifically online companies, finding hidden cash and little pockets of money that he can pull out for the owner, and then focusing on getting the owner out of the day-to-day operations of the business so they can focus on the freedom that they want because of the reason that they started their business, but actually turned it into a job. Kyle and his team are great at helping visionaries take the job that they've built for themselves and turn it into an enterprise. A lot of what Kyle is doing is delegation, but there's also big mindset stuff that needs to happen. It's one of the hardest parts of working with visionaries and CEOs. He will have conversations with them and typically start with figuring out what the business owner is really good at that's unique to the owner or the visionary. The things that only they can do, which is typically three to five things, and giving it a title. He would then have them spend a bit of time watching themselves in the 9-12 hours a day through a time study, writing down all of the things that they do. At the end of the week, he would have them highlight every single thing that did not fit their core and that's the first step for them to open their eyes. Realize that they are spending a lot of time doing things that they shouldn't be doing and spend more time doing the things that they should be doing. The client would typically have a really hard time moving out of the “technician role” to the “producer role”. You need someone who can come in and lead a team, especially when things start to get hectic and stressful. They want the “unicorn” to do 30 things and they only getting seven done. The visionary and integrator tend to fall back into those patterns, this is where Kyle and his team have to place a monetary goal for them to delegate, or they're not going to be able to grow. The one big tip Kyle would give clients is how they can create leverage. If you get a big enough lever, you can move the world. Freedom of time or financially, one of the two or both, and the only way that you're ever going to accomplish it are through creating leverage. This is found through masterminds, coaches, consultants, and their systematic lever. Where you can build out systems that do things for you.
