Who says Reb Nachman is true? Who says the Tikkun HaKlali works? Who says Reb Noson didn't write Likutey Moharan himself?The word "who says" is already kefirah. Because "who says" means: I do not want to believe, I want to understand.And the first platform of Yiddishkeit is not understanding. It is belief — and belief means I do not understand. Only from that platform does Hashem give the matanah we ask for three times a day: da'as. You start understanding from the platform of not understanding. Tachlis hayedia shelo neida.Which is the whole problem of this Torah, because Torah 4 opens k'she'adam yodea — when a person KNOWS that everything that happens to him is for his good. Knowing, not believing. The Rebbe never says the word emunah here. And yet the entire mechanism that gets you to that yedia runs through emunah and through vidui devarim to the tzaddik.THE TRAILEREverybody has had the moment: that was Hashem. Because for that one thing to happen to you at that hour, the whole briah had to be built a certain way. Et si voir la Terre d'en haut était la plus puissante des leçons d'humilité ?Cette semaine, j'ai eu l'immense privilège d'échanger avec Claudie Haigneré.Autant vous dire que j'étais intimidée.Claudie représente pour moi un mythe vivant.Médecin, chercheuse, elle est la première femme française et européenne à avoir voyagé dans l'espace (à deux reprises !). Je me souviens avoir suivi avec fierté et une pointe d'inquiétude ses vols en 1996 à bord de la station orbitale russe Mir puis en 2001 à bord de la Station Spatiale Internationale. Pendant quelques jours, la France avait arrêté de respirer, unie par l'émotion de la voir dans l'espace. Devenue ensuite Ministre de la Recherche puis Ministre des Affaires Européennes, Claudie incarne la croyance dans la science et l'innovation, la coopération internationale et l'Europe, l'éducation et les femmes... Autant de valeurs aujourd'hui attaquées, qu'il faut défendre ardemment. A épisode exceptionnel, durée exceptionnelle. Cet épisode est coupé en deux parties, tant il y avait à dire. Dans cette première partie, Claudie nous raconte le chemin, qui l'a amené à s'envoler dans les étoiles et à réaliser ce rêve qui semble inaccessible !Elle nous embarque dans la sélection, la préparation et surtout la réalité de ces jours passés dans l'espace.Elle nous raconte l'émerveillement ressenti à la vue de la Terre, la conscience de son extraordinaire beauté et de sa fragilité, et e sentiment d'urgence de préserver notre planète, ce vaisseau commun si unique. Dans une conversation a battons rompus, Claudie nous rapporte tout ce que l'espace a à nous apprendre, et notamment l'importance de la diversité, de la coopération, de l'éducation, de la conquête spatiale, des science et du progrès.Quelques idées fortes que je retiens de cette première partie :- Oser l'inattendu : ne pas renoncer à candidater, même lorsqu'on est « hors format », car une trajectoire n'est pas toujours tracée d'avance.- Éveiller et préserver la curiosité : enseignants, parents, institutions, nous avons tous un rôle à jouer pour cultiver le désir de savoir et d'agir- Coopérer au-delà des frontières : la science reste l'un des rares lieux où une collaboration internationale authentique résiste aux tensions politiques- Retisser la confiance : c'est à la fois une question d'esprit d'équipe, de complémentarité et de rites de passage pour endosser ensemble la responsabilité du futur- Protéger notre planète : il n'y a pas de planète B ! Piše Miša Gams, bereta Maja Moll in Jure Franko. Pesnik in pisatelj Samo Kreutz je avtor dvanajstih knjig v slovenskem jeziku in šestih v angleščini. V kratkoprozni zbirki Lomljene poti ponuja v branje osem zgodb, v katerih vsakič znova vznika sodobni “zlomljeni” človek, ki razgalja potrošniško družbo 21. stoletja, iz katere na vsak način želi pobegniti. Bodisi prekine z dobro plačano službo in družino bodisi postane pozoren na razpoke v neoliberalni ideologiji, ki zazevajo ob ravnanju z brezdomci, vaškimi posebneži, neindoktriniranimi protestniki in nič hudega slutečimi živalmi … Stil pisanja variira med realističnim, nadrealističnim, znanstveno-fantastičnim in poetičnim in na trenutke se zazdi, da se znajdemo v možganih protagonista, o katerem ugotavljamo ali je umetniški genij, psihotik ali le izjemno senzibilno bitje, ki se v polni meri zaveda vpliva nezavednega na manifestacijo stvarnosti. Čeprav nas naslovnica s fotografijo dveh dečkov in razrite zemlje v ozadju navdaja z mislijo, da gre za realistično zasnovan potopis, nas že prvi zgodbi Dom, ki se zgodi in Prvič s prababico k maši “prizemljita” s svojim poetično-filozofskim slogom in polemiziranjem na temo begunstva in krščanskih stereotipov. V zgodbi Indigo in jaz, ki v podpoglavjih razpne ves barvni spekter refleksij pisarniške delavke, ki se poleg pritiska nadrejenih in sodelavcev morebiti sooča tudi s svojo avtističnostjo, ugotavljamo preplet subjektivnih misli in objektivne realnosti. Protagonist zgodbe Ugrez v obdobju korone ugotavlja, da vsi ljudje niso ujeti v ideološki diskurz o “reševanju drugega”, čeprav v procesu razsvetljevanja izgubi soprogo in sina in tudi delovno mesto. Zdi se, da ga preplavi notranji mir prav ob ugotovitvi, da se tam zunaj nahajajo ljudje, podobni njemu, z zasejanim dvomom o celem naboru rekvizitov in strategij, vpeljanih skupaj z novodobnim medicinskim imperativom: “In začutil je olajšanje. Vseobsegajoče. Morda zato, ker je bil končno zunaj, izven dosega te družbe, in je popoldanski piš vstal, da bi prevetril prostor pred njim. Mogoče. Ali pa morebiti zaradi tega, ker jih je videl. Ljudi. Ogromno njih, kako so hodili sem in tja. Počasi, sproščeno. Predvsem pa … brez mask. Zdaj si je lahko spet domišljal, niso še vsi – prodani.” Čeprav se zgodba zasuka v smer maščevanja bogatemu in nadutemu šefu, pisatelj ne pozabi omeniti taborov, ki so se oblikovali v času epidemije covida, in medsebojnega obtoževanja naših in vaših, cepilcev in “antivakserjev”. Zgodba je zanimiva tudi zato, ker ponuja pogled v delovanje možganov in ustvarjanje prepričanja na podlagi retoričnih fraz in vizualizacij, ki lahko pripeljejo do dramatičnih razsežnosti. Primer magičnega realizma, ki ga povzroča lucidna samohipnoza, je zgodba, Simon med stvarmi. Brezdomec Simon, ki je s svojo prisotnostjo tako rekoč sestavni del velikega trgovskega centra, namreč izgine, njegovo dušo pa zajamejo izpovedi goloba, otroka iz soseske, ženske in varnostnika in s svojimi pričevanji odkrivajo koščke mozaika njegovega življenja in izginotja. V nekem trenutku se pojavi Simonovo vsevidno oko in se zlije s poletom ptice, ki zakriči: “Izginotje je zlitje s tem, kar ljudje spregledajo.” In v nadaljevanju: “Kot bi zamaknjenost v trenutku popustila, so se mimoidoči začeli prisiljeno nasmihati drug drugemu. Niso več vedeli, zakaj so se zbrali tukaj. Ali pa so potihoma govorili o nekom, ki asfalt spreminja v vodo.” Čudeži, ki se dogajajo protagonistom zgodb so možni zaradi prekrivanja različnih dimenzij subjektivne realnosti v skupinsko hipnozo, pisatelj pa z njihovimi citati tke simbolne vezi, s katerimi vnaša v fizikalni svet magijo kot čarovnik, ki se zaveda vpliva besed na konkretna dejanja. Tudi zadnje tri zgodbe so polne ekspresionističnih refleksij in simbolike, povezane z zvokom, glasbo, barvami in doživljanjem vojne oz. miru, ki ga protagonist zgodbe Beethoven ni odgovoril tako vztrajno išče. V dnevnik si zapiše: “Mir ni odsotnost sovražnika. Mir je takrat, ko lahko sovražniku rečeš – ti si del moje simfonije.” Zgodbi Kleejeva zanka in Tri spirale modrine sta poklon dvema imenitnima slikarjema, Paulu Kleeju in Van Goghu, ki sta se navduševala nad metafiziko svetlobe, barv in glasbe. Pisatelj odslikava zgodbi, kot bi nanašal barve na platno, in se pri tem poigrava z ekspresionizmom in nadrealizmom. Čeprav v opisih lahko začutimo tudi pisateljevo bit, kako vibrira z bitjo umrlih umetnikov, pod njo zaslutimo (z)lomljenost sodobnega človeka, ki išče prizemljitev za svoja hrepenenja in besede, s katerimi bi lahko opisal svojo razcepljenost v poblaznelem svetu nadrealnih pričakovanj, klasifikacij in semantičnih paberkovanj, ki se dostikrat vrtijo v začaranem krogu. Kratkoprozna zbirka Sama Kreutza Lomljene poti, ki v uvodu nosi domiselno posvetilo “tistim, ki nosijo namesto zemljevidov – brazgotine”, je namenjena posamezniku, ki se zaveda svojih ran in brazgotin, ki jih prekrije čas, je počastitev skozi uprizoritev njegovih notranjih bitk, ki jih zrcali sodobna družba. Avtorja moramo pohvaliti za inovativen stil, ki se na določenih mestih pojavi kot nadrealističen kolaž različnih žanrov, in za strukturo zbirke, zastavljene kot luciden hologram, ki ga lahko hkrati beremo na več diskurzivnih ravneh.

Milla arbeitet im öffentlichen Dienst, hat vier Söhne und die zwei Mittleren haben psychische Probleme. Die zwei anderen Söhne kommen gut klar. Va die mit den psychischen Problemen stressen sie total. Sie will, dass sie endlich glücklich werden, einen Schulabschluss machen und die Verantwortung für ihr Leben übernehmen. So wie sie selbst es auch gemacht hat als sie jung war. Und ihre eigenen Jungs tun ihr den Gefallen leider nicht. Sie lebt getrennt und auch ihr Ex hat psychische Probleme. Sie ist also umgeben von vielen psychisch herausfordernden Männern. Ihr selbst geht es gut, wenn da diese Jungs und Männer um sie herum nicht wären. Mir sind ein paar provokative Ideen gekommen und ich glaube, es ist was in Bewegung gekommen, auch wenn sie (wie viele Klienten) gerne ein Patentrezept bekommen hätte. A sus setenta y tantos años, sus manos, gruesas y zurcidas por el tiempo, ya no se movían con la rapidez de antes, pero conservaban una precisión casi mágica.Esa tarde no trabajaba en un mueble ni en una restauración importante. Sencillamente lijaba un pequeño trozo de roble que no tenía forma clara todavía. En el pueblo decían que Mateo no lijaba madera: la acariciaba hasta que soltaba una sonrisa.De pronto, el timbre de la puerta de madera resonó suavemente. Era Lucía, la nieta de su vecino, una niña de ocho años con los cordones desatados y la mirada extraviada de quien lleva una pena demasiado grande para su tamaño. Hacía dos semanas que su perrita lola,  la compañera de todas sus tardes, se había ido de viejita. Lucía casi no hablaba desde entonces.Entró en silencio, caminó despacio entre los bancos de trabajo y se sentó en el taburete bajo, el que ocupaba desde que era pequeña para verlo trabajar. Mateo no dijo nada. No ofreció palabras de consuelo ni discursos sabios, porque sabía que hay dolores que las palabras solo rozan, pero no curan.El viejo carpintero simplemente tomó una segunda lija, un trozo más pequeño de madera suave y se lo tendió sin prisa.—Si me ayudas con esta esquina, terminamos antes —dijo con voz pausada, casi como un murmullo.Lucía miró la madera, luego a Mateo, y tomó la lija. Lucía tomó la taza entre sus dos manos pequeñas, sintiendo el calor atravesar la cerámica pero con sus ojos fijos en la figura. Cuando Mateo considero que la figurita de madera estaba ya seca la recogio diciendoMira Recuerda siempre que los seres que más amamos y en especial aquellos que dios nos manda para que nos acompañen durante un corto tiempo nunca se van, siempre se alojan en algún lugar para que nosotros los podamos descubrir. Es necesario encontrarlos no con los ojos sino con el alma, El alma de tu perrita siempre estará contigo ya que se había depositado dentro de ese pequeño trozo de madera que me has ayudado a tallar y a pulir. Lo único que tuvimos que      hacer fue limpiar un poco lo que la cubría y aquí esta contigo. Y colocando en sus manitas la figura exacta de la perrita que acababan de crear juntos le dio un apretón de manos que abrazo el corazón de la niña. Miró al viejo carpintero, que le sonreía en silencio con las arrugas de los ojos marcadas por la ternura, y por primera vez en dos semanas, dejó escapar una sonrisa leve, chiquita, pero verdadera. No hacía falta decir nada más. A veces sentimos un apretón de manos en el corazón, una certeza silenciosa de que, a pesar de las ausencias y los raspones del camino siempre hay un alma justa que nos hace sanar de nuestras heridas. Y feliz salió de aquel taller con la replica exacta de su perrita lola que ahora la miraba desde su cuerpo de madera.

Memoria de San Juan María Vianney, el Cura de Ars Homilía de Benedicto XVI sobre el Santo Cura de Ars Queridos hermanos y hermanas: En la catequesis de hoy quiero recorrer de nuevo la vida del santo cura de Ars subrayando algunos de sus rasgos, que pueden servir de ejemplo también para los sacerdotes de nuestra época, ciertamente diferente de aquella en la que él vivió, pero en varios aspectos marcada por los mismos desafíos humanos y espirituales fundamentales. Precisamente ayer se cumplieron 150 años de su nacimiento para el cielo: a las dos de la mañana del 4 de agosto de 1859 san Juan Bautista María Vianney, terminado el curso de su existencia terrena, fue al encuentro del Padre celestial para recibir en herencia el reino preparado desde la creación del mundo para los que siguen fielmente sus enseñanzas (cf. Mt 25, 34). ¡Qué gran fiesta debió de haber en el paraíso al llegar un pastor tan celoso! ¡Qué acogida debe de haberle reservado la multitud de los hijos reconciliados con el Padre gracias a su obra de párroco y confesor! He querido tomar este aniversario como punto de partida para la convocatoria del Año sacerdotal que, como es sabido, tiene por tema: «Fidelidad de Cristo, fidelidad del sacerdote». De la santidad depende la credibilidad del testimonio y, en definitiva, la eficacia misma de la misión de todo sacerdote. Juan María Vianney nació en la pequeña aldea de Dardilly el 8 de mayo de 1786, en el seno de una familia campesina, pobre en bienes materiales, pero rica en humanidad y fe. Bautizado, de acuerdo con una buena costumbre de esa época, el mismo día de su nacimiento, consagró los años de su niñez y de su adolescencia a trabajar en el campo y a apacentar animales, hasta el punto de que, a los diecisiete años, aún era analfabeto. No obstante, se sabía de memoria las oraciones que le había enseñado su piadosa madre y se alimentaba del sentido religioso que se respiraba en su casa. Los biógrafos refieren que, desde los primeros años de su juventud, trató de conformarse a la voluntad de Dios incluso en las ocupaciones más humildes. Albergaba en su corazón el deseo de ser sacerdote, pero no le resultó fácil realizarlo. Llegó a la ordenación presbiteral después de no pocas vicisitudes e incomprensiones, gracias a la ayuda de prudentes sacerdotes, que no se detuvieron a considerar sus límites humanos, sino que supieron mirar más allá, intuyendo el horizonte de santidad que se perfilaba en aquel joven realmente singular. Así, el 23 de junio de 1815, fue ordenado diácono y, el 13 de agosto siguiente, sacerdote. Por fin, a la edad de 29 años, después de numerosas incertidumbres, no pocos fracasos y muchas lágrimas, pudo subir al altar del Señor y realizar el sueño de su vida. El santo cura de Ars manifestó siempre una altísima consideración del don recibido. Afirmaba: «¡Oh, qué cosa tan grande es el sacerdocio! No se comprenderá bien más que en el cielo... Si se entendiera en la tierra, se moriría, no de susto, sino de amor» (Abbé Monnin, Esprit du Curé d'Ars, p. 113). Además, de niño había confiado a su madre: «Si fuera sacerdote, querría conquistar muchas almas» (Abbé Monnin, Procès de l'ordinaire, p. 1064). Y así sucedió. En el servicio pastoral, tan sencillo como extraordinariamente fecundo, este anónimo párroco de una aldea perdida del sur de Francia logró identificarse tanto con su ministerio que se convirtió, también de un modo visible y reconocible universalmente, en alter Christus, imagen del buen Pastor que, a diferencia del mercenario, da la vida por sus ovejas (cf. Jn 10, 11). A ejemplo del buen Pastor, dio su vida en los decenios de su servicio sacerdotal. Su existencia fue una catequesis viviente, que cobraba una eficacia muy particular cuando la gente lo veía celebrar la misa, detenerse en adoración ante el sagrario o pasar muchas horas en el confesonario. El centro de toda su vida era, por consiguiente, la Eucaristía, que celebraba y adoraba con devoción y respeto. Otra característica fundamental de esta extraordinaria figura sacerdotal era el ministerio asiduo de las confesiones. En la práctica del sacramento de la Penitencia reconocía el cumplimiento lógico y natural del apostolado sacerdotal, en obediencia al mandato de Cristo: "A quienes perdonéis los pecados, les quedan perdonados; a quienes se los retengáis, les quedan retenidos" (Jn 20, 23). Así pues, san Juan María Vianney se distinguió como óptimo e incansable confesor y maestro espiritual. Pasando, «con un solo movimiento interior, del altar al confesonario», donde transcurría gran parte de la jornada, intentó por todos los medios, en la predicación y con consejos persuasivos, que sus feligreses redescubriesen el significado y la belleza de la Penitencia sacramental, mostrándola como una íntima exigencia de la Presencia eucarística (cf. Carta a los sacerdotes para el Año sacerdotal). Los métodos pastorales de san Juan María Vianney podrían parecer poco adecuados en las actuales condiciones sociales y culturales. De hecho, ¿cómo podría imitarlo un sacerdote hoy, en un mundo tan cambiado? Es verdad que los tiempos cambian y que muchos carismas son típicos de la persona y, por tanto, irrepetibles; sin embargo, hay un estilo de vida y un anhelo de fondo que todos estamos llamados a cultivar. Mirándolo bien, lo que hizo santo al cura de Ars fue su humilde fidelidad a la misión a la que Dios lo había llamado; fue su constante abandono, lleno de confianza, en manos de la divina Providencia. Logró tocar el corazón de la gente no gracias a sus dotes humanas, ni basándose exclusivamente en un esfuerzo de voluntad, por loable que fuera; conquistó las almas, incluso las más refractarias, comunicándoles lo que vivía íntimamente, es decir, su amistad con Cristo. Estaba «enamorado» de Cristo, y el verdadero secreto de su éxito pastoral fue el amor que sentía por el Misterio eucarístico anunciado, celebrado y vivido, que se transformó en amor por la grey de Cristo, los cristianos, y por todas las personas que buscan a Dios. Su testimonio nos recuerda, queridos hermanos y hermanas, que para todo bautizado, y con mayor razón para el sacerdote, la Eucaristía «no es simplemente un acontecimiento con dos protagonistas, un diálogo entre Dios y yo. La Comunión eucarística tiende a una transformación total de la propia vida. Con fuerza abre de par en par todo el yo del hombre y crea un nuevo nosotros» (Joseph Ratzinger, La Comunione nella Chiesa, p. 80). Así pues, lejos de reducir la figura de san Juan María Vianney a un ejemplo, aunque sea admirable, de la espiritualidad católica del siglo XIX, es necesario, al contrario, percibir la fuerza profética, de suma actualidad, que distingue su personalidad humana y sacerdotal. En la Francia posrevolucionaria que experimentaba una especie de «dictadura del racionalismo» orientada a borrar la presencia misma de los sacerdotes y de la Iglesia en la sociedad, él vivió primero -en los años de su juventud- una heroica clandestinidad recorriendo kilómetros durante la noche para participar en la santa misa. Luego, ya como sacerdote, se caracterizó por una singular y fecunda creatividad pastoral, capaz de mostrar que el racionalismo, entonces dominante, en realidad no podía satisfacer las auténticas necesidades del hombre y, por lo tanto, en definitiva no se podía vivir. Queridos hermanos y hermanas, a más de 150 años de la muerte del santo cura de Ars, los desafíos de la sociedad actual no son menos arduos; al contrario, tal vez resultan todavía más complejos. Si entonces existía la «dictadura del racionalismo», en la época actual reina en muchos ambientes una especie de «dictadura del relativismo». Ambas parecen respuestas inadecuadas a la justa exigencia del hombre de usar plenamente su propia razón como elemento distintivo y constitutivo de la propia identidad. El racionalismo fue inadecuado porque no tuvo en cuenta las limitaciones humanas y pretendió poner la sola razón como medida de todas las cosas, transformándola en una diosa; el relativismo contemporáneo mortifica la razón, porque de hecho llega a afirmar que el ser humano no puede conocer nada con certeza más allá del campo científico positivo. Sin embargo, hoy, como entonces, el hombre "que mendiga significado y realización" busca continuamente respuestas exhaustivas a los interrogantes de fondo que no deja de plantearse. Tenían muy presente esta «sed de verdad», que arde en el corazón de todo hombre, los padres del concilio ecuménico Vaticano II cuando afirmaron que corresponde a los sacerdotes, «como educadores en la fe», formar «una auténtica comunidad cristiana» capaz de preparar «a todos los hombres el camino hacia Cristo» y ejercer «una auténtica maternidad» respecto a ellos, indicando o allanando a los no creyentes «el camino hacia Cristo y su Iglesia», y siendo para los fieles «estímulo, alimento y fortaleza para el combate espiritual» (cf.Presbyterorum ordinis, 6). La enseñanza que al respecto sigue transmitiéndonos el santo cura de Ars es que en la raíz de ese compromiso pastoral el sacerdote debe poner una íntima unión personal con Cristo, que es preciso cultivar y acrecentar día tras día. Sólo enamorado de Cristo, el sacerdote podrá enseñar a todos esta unión, esta amistad íntima con el divino Maestro; podrá tocar el corazón de las personas y abrirlo al amor misericordioso del Señor. Sólo así, por tanto, podrá infundir entusiasmo y vitalidad espiritual a las comunidades que el Señor le confía. Oremos para que, por intercesión de san Juan María Vianney, Dios conceda a su Iglesia el don de santos sacerdotes, y para que aumente en los fieles el deseo de sostener y colaborar con su ministerio. Astronaut Col. Eileen Collins, the First Female Shuttle Commander talks about Breaking Barriers & her new movie "SPACEWOMAN"! In 1990, Col. Collins was selected to be a pilot astronaut with NASA Astronaut Group 13, eventually becoming the first woman to command a US spacecraft. Her NASA missions included a space rendezvous between Space Shuttle Discovery and the Russian space station Mir, deploying the Chandra X-Ray Observatory, and most notably commanding NASA's "return to flight" mission after the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. During this mission she became the first astronaut to fly the Space Shuttle orbiter through a complete 360-degree pitch maneuver so astronauts aboard the International Space Station could photograph the orbiters belly and ensure it was safe for re-entry. Before coming to Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous, I slipped into being underweight. When I came to FA, I gained weight—and today, as a result, I live in a healthy, slender body. When asked about his engagement orders during the Saigon embassy evacuation, Hoot confirmed they were cleared to fire, though they didn't use their weapons due to fuel constraints.Hoot discussed his experience flying different space shuttles, explaining that while NASA aimed to make all shuttles identical, Columbia was built heavier at 7,000 pounds and had some unique features due to being the first shuttle. Hoot shared that he flew Challenger on his first mission, Columbia on his second, and Atlantis twice, but regretted not flying Discovery which would have allowed him to fly all five shuttles. With Matthew Gale and Dolors Rodríguez Roig, Daniel and Smithgall are the co-curators of "Miró and the United States" at the Phillips Collection, Washington, DC. The exhibition explores the exchanges between Joan Miró and the mid-twentieth-century US art scene. Not only did Miró have retrospectives at the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1941 and 1959, but he traveled to the US seven times between 1947 and 1968, when he made a point of seeing US art and visiting US artists. The exhibition at the Phillips is on view through July 5. The Phillips and the Fundació Joan Miró have published a catalogue; the Phillips offers it for $65.
