Send Me A Message!! Journey through the 35-year evolution of the O'Mahony Garden, a stunning landscape on the Cork-Limerick border that transforms an ordinary plot into five distinctive garden spaces, each with its own personality and purpose.Siobhan O'Mahony shares her gardening journey that began with essential shelter planting and gradually expanded into a thoughtfully designed landscape. The original garden focuses on low-maintenance shrubs and trees punctuated with seasonal bulbs, while the aptly named "kitchen garden" outside their kitchen door bursts with vibrant hot colours year-round. Perhaps most remarkable is the transformation of their sons' football pitch into borders with distinct colour themes – cool calming blues and pinks in one area contrasting with rich wine and magenta tones in another. The garden continues to evolve with newer areas including a practical raised bed vegetable garden featuring container-grown raspberries and a young woodland planted with 28 Himalayan birches (Betula jacquemontii) underplanted with specialist snowdrops and spring flowering bulbs. Adjacent to this, an annual wildflower meadow delivers spectacular summer colour without demanding maintenance.Siobhan's practical wisdom resonates throughout the conversation – from her colour-themed planting approaches to her strategic use of containers to maintain continuous displays near the house. Her advice for new gardeners is refreshingly realistic: focus on trees and shrubs for structure and lower maintenance, then concentrate colourful, higher-maintenance planting in smaller areas where it can be enjoyed daily. The garden welcomes visitors three times annually and hosts workshops on container gardening, vegetable growing and flower arranging. Whether you're starting your own garden journey or looking for inspiration to refine an existing space, this episode offers practical strategies for creating beautiful, manageable gardens that bring joy throughout the seasons.Visit O Mahony Garden information here:https://www.omahonygarden.comSupport the showIf there is any topic you would like covered in future episodes, please let me know. In this episode, I talked to Siobhan O'Connor, who has lived through it all—growing up in a hardcore evangelical environment, serving in the military, coming out as trans later in life, and watching the world turn more hostile toward people like her. We get into her story, the right's relentless attacks on trans people, and how even so-called allies keep failing the community. Today I chatted to the wonderful Siobhan O'Hagan. I started following Siobhan in 2019 and have been fascinated by her ability to live the life she wants and not be driven by the need to conform to societal norms. We chatted about life, but also about some really important topics like: Social media vs reality The comparison syndrome Negativity online It's okay to change your mind Failure is feedback The 'I'll be happy when fallacy' What happiness is for us! 054 - Posture Fitting with Siobhan O'Donovan AKA The Booby Physio Siobhán O'Donovan (aka The Booby Physio!) Chartered Physiotherapist Creator and founder of the PostureFitting physiotherapy service, PostureFitting Partnership, & GALS against GRAVITY workshops. If you had asked Siobhán 10 years ago what she would be doing in 2024, she wouldn't have predicted being surrounded by all things breasts and bras! But here she indeed is, on a mission to raise awareness of, and demonstrate her solution for, the very underestimated impact of breast weight on women and girls. A chartered physio with a Master's degree in the Prevention and Management of Sport Injury, Siobhán has always been a solution-seeker. With over 30 years of clinical experience working with patients to prevent, treat, rehab and deter problems, she developed PostureFitting, a physiotherapy service which connects breast weight and support with posture. The resultant effects on her patients in feeling, moving, looking better were too good to keep a secret, and she now trains other therapists to offer the PostureFitting service. Their mutual goal is to educate, empower & enlighten, in all ways, so that more gals win their daily battle against gravity, while busting breast & bra booby traps!

Our guest on the podcast today is not only an author of the book, My Life On Pause, and she is also training to be a surgeon. Siobhan O'Sullivan was diagnosed at 31 years old with premature ovarian insufficiency, a condition where the ovaries stop functioning as they should under the age of 40. Siobhan ignored her diagnosis for a number of years feeling betrayed and ashamed by her body, and the impact it on her fertility and how Siobhan felt she was carrying around a big dirty secret. She felt isolated, it was only when she caught covid and had to isolate for 10 days that she was forced to confront her diagnosis and her book, My Life On Pause was born. She is now on a mission to break societal views of womanhood, youth and fertility, giving people a space to be unapologetically themselves. We talk about the impact of menopause in your 30's, confronting your own fertility, dating and socialising, the stigma of being in your 30's and single and how Siobhan is redefining her identity. We also ask Siobhan about being a female surgeon. In the Book Collective we continue reading Caitlin Moran's, What About Men? We are full of disbelief at chapter 11 The Manosphere and through chapter 12 The Fatherhood of Men it gave us a deeper understanding of our dads. Today listeners I'm introducing you to another author whose gorgeous debut novel, called ‘All the Golden Light' has just been published by HarperCollins. A richly detailed, sweeping historical novel, 'All the Golden Light' is a snapshot of life for one woman living on the south coast of NSW at the tail end of WWI. A time of darkness, deprivation and trauma - not only for the those who saw active service, but for those who were left behind. Author Siobhan O'Brien is no stranger to the publishing industry and has written for the Sydney Morning Herald, Vogue, InDesign and Monument. Siobhan's other notable work was published back in 2004. A biography of Australian designer and socialite Florence Broadhurst, published by Allen & Unwin. I was delighted to chat with Siobhan recently.

Today's guest is influencer and first time mam, Siobhan O'Hagan. In her previous life as a fitness influencer, Siobhan's goals and values were always crystal clear: She enjoyed the freedom that came with her life moving from Bali to Thailand to London and back to Ireland. She was vocal about her choice not to have children, and for a long time that completely aligned with her value system. Until, one day, it didn't anymore. She had what she calls an 'existential crisis' and after becoming pregnant last year, she decided to embrace the curveball that life threw her. She's now happily co-parenting a gorgeous baby girl with her daughter's dad, and although they're not in a relationship, they're embracing parenthood together. What I've always admired about Siobhan was her fearlessness in doing things completely her own way, and her journey into motherhood has been no different. Hosted on Acast. In this Episode, we share insights on the intricacies of antibiotics, their use and misuse, and the alarming reality of resistance that stems from overuse. Whether it's the pressure on medical practitioners to prescribe, or the misconceptions among parents about antibiotic use for their children, we're tackling it all and advocating for the crucial role of antibiotic stewardship. We also dive into the world of fitness with personal trainer Siobhan O'Hagan, especially as it pertains to new parents. How do you juggle a newborn, work, and your health regimen? How do you manage postnatal recovery? We're exploring the societal pressure and misconceptions surrounding postnatal recovery and women's health physio. But it doesn't stop there, we're acknowledging the often neglected aspect of mental wellbeing over physical appearance. As we delve into life's complexities, we also highlight the importance of setting long-term strength goals and maintaining health and strength when striving for a fat loss goal. We discuss the potential benefits and safety measures when exercising during and after pregnancy. Finally, we provide practical tips for the busy new parents trying to incorporate fitness into their routine. Strap in for an enlightening discussion on ensuring a healthy lifestyle amidst the chaos of parenthood and life.
BONUS EPISODE!! I couldn't wait until next week to share this episode - that's how important I think this topic is! You're used to hearing me talk about Breast Cancer Rehab - I have a comprehensive online course that covers all the aspects of prehab, rehab and pelvic health BUT! What about breast health? My friend and colleague, Siobhan O'Donovan is my go to expert on this topic and she dropped some serious knowledge about good intrinsic and extrinsic support for breasts, how to know if you're wearing the right bra, why posture really does matter, why good breast support from a young age may be the secret to keeping teenage girls involved in sport, breast health, back pain and bone health at menopause, criteria to consider when choosing a sports bra and so much more! There's great clinical takeaways that will have you bringing much more awareness to your daily routine if you are a bra wearer - I was lucky enough to have a fitting with Siobhan last year and it totally upped my bra buying game! You can find Siobhan on social media as Posture Fitting and her website is posturefittingphysio.com I hope you enjoyed this podcast - I'd love it if you could rate, review and subscribe so you never miss an episode If you'd like more info on women's health in general, make sure you're following me on Instagram as michellelyons_muliebrity and for info on my online courses, please visit my website, celebratemuliebrity.com See you next time! This week we have a client story from Siobhan O'Conner. This was an emotional episode as Siobhan openly shares her memories of going along to slimming clubs from the age of 9, along with caregivers who regularly dieted and reinforced the idea that being fat was something to be avoided at all costs. Siobhan recalls her younger years of always being the party girl and struggling with alcohol, mental health, and binge eating. She describes how covid forced her to come face to face with the things in her life she had been avoiding and how this led her to discover intuitive eating and body positivity. She is honest about how this discovery was anything but a smooth ride and we laughed and cried along with her as she retold her story, shared her learnings and imagned what the future holds.
