The incarnation is the central event of our faith, making possible the consummation of the New Covenant in the saving death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is utterly unique, and, as made clear in this week's first piece, utterly incongruous with anything else in history, or in our experience. It is, then, to be an object of our contemplation and a stimulus to our worship of the Triune God: Father, Spirit, and incarnate Son. The film “Hellbound” by Kevin Miller questioned the traditional "eternal, conscious torment" view of hell and asked whether Universalism is actually taught in scripture. Justin was joined by Kevin Miller, along with Glenn Peoples who holds an "annihilationist" position, and Peter Sanlon who defended the traditional view. They discussed whether questioning hell goes against evangelicalism, whether evangelism is at stake and what most Christians really believe about hell. First broadcast in 2013. Dr. Peter Sanlon, an old friend and a minister in the Anglican Church in the UK.Their conversation is a somber one dealing with a horrific scandal of abuse that has emerged in the past couple of years involving a prominent Anglican minister, the Reverend Jonathan Fletcher. The full report of the abuses made public just a week ago is challenging to understand when reviewed on this side of the Atlantic, due to its cultural and religious context. Peter provides background information and explains the connection with another prominent name, the late John Smyth. What about the victims who have come forward? Is there a system in place to care for them, and how is that done? Find important links for more information and survivor resources at MortificationOfSpin.org.

Peter Byrom says he is "very nearly" convinced of Christianity. Having dallied with an atheist perspective he now rejects many of those arguments. However one area of theology he doesn't feel is clear is the question of Adam and Eve and the Fall. Who were Adam and Eve - a historical couple or a metaphor for the human condition? Why did their rebellion impact the whole of humanity? How can we reconcile original sin with human free will? Peter Sanlon is a lecturer in theology at Oakhill College. He responds to the theology. Prof Norman Nevin is Emeritus professor of Medical Genetics at Queens University Belfast. He responds to scientific aspects of the discussion.
