Rahal Ducati Moto's PJ Jacobsen rolls into this weekend's penultimate round of the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship trailing his season-long rival Mathew Scholtz by 25 points. We caught up with Jacobsen prior to the start of the weekend to chat about the title chase, his first season with the Rahal team, his two dynamic passes in Supersport racing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.Support the show
Strack Racing's Mathew Scholtz heads to Circuit of The Americas in Austin Texas, next week with a 25-point lead in the 2024 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. Left without a ride when the Westby Racing Superbike team folded at the end of last season, Scholtz took a step back to race in the Supersport class. And it's worked to perfection. The South African, who now calls Georgia home, has won seven races and has stood on the podium in 13 of 14 races. He's also had some battles royale with his rival in the title chase, PJ Jacobsen. We caught up with Scholtz prior to the final two rounds of the title chase to talk about his season, the rivalry with Jacobsen, his past, and his future on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.Support the show

Patrick Jacobsen, often known as PJ, was born in New York but spent most of his upbringing from the age of three at race tracks across the United States and eventually around the world. He began his journey by claiming dozens of national dirt track racing championships before transitioning to asphalt and pursuing his dreams in Europe. Over the past 20 years, he has raced against some of the world's best motorcycling talents. All of these experiences have led him back home to the MotoAmerica championship, where he has spent the last several years facing the highs and lows that a racer can encounter, both on and off the track. At 30 years old and fresh off of his first MotoAmerica Superbike victory, PJ sat down with us to share his journey, as well as some of the mysteries that have left many wondering who he really is and what makes him such an incredibly talented rider. Corey Alexander won the opening round of the MotoAmerica Yuasa Stock 1000 Championship at Road Atlanta after a race-long battle with his friend and fellow JP43 instructor Michael Gilbert. The new Tytler Cycle team, of which Alexander is a big part, tasted success again when fill-in rider Kyle Wyman rode PJ Jacobsen's BMW to third in the Medallia Superbike race. The team left Georgia on a high. Unfortunately, things changed at VIRginia International Raceway when Alexander had a big crash that left him concussed and forced to watch the two Yuasa Stock 1000 races from the sidelines. Alexander is hopeful of being ready to take to the track again next weekend when the series visits Road America. We chatted with Alexander about his accident, his victory and much more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/corey23alexander/Twitter: https://twitter.com/Corey1AlexanderFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/corey5alexanderSupport the show

There's nothing like a second chance and PJ Jacobsen is getting that in 2022 as he comes off a season without racing to jump smack dab in the deep end with a return to action in the MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike Championship. Jacobsen will ride for the new Tytlers Cycle Racing team aboard a brand-new BMW M 1000 RR . With gobs of experience earned in the World Supersport and World Superbike Championship as well as a runner-up finish in the 2019 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship, Jacobsen will be looking to draw from that experience to take full advantage of his second chance. The highs and the lows for PJ Jacobsen in 2020 were definitely more on the low end of the scale. After winning the opening round of the MotoAmerica Stock 100 Series at Road America 1, Jacobsen had a frightening crash when he had to jump off his Ducati at speed when it caught fire during morning warmup for round two. The result were serious burns to Jacobsen's lower body. The New Yorker tried to come back at Road Atlanta, but the injuries were too severe for him to continue. So just like that his season was over. We caught up with Jacobsen this week for Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to see how he's doing and what his future plans consist of. Jacobsen finished the weekend very strong with a second place podium at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this past Sunday. After posting the fastest time in the wet session on Friday he suffered a hard crash during Qualifying 1 on Saturday. The results for the Celtic HSBK Yamaha Supersport racer in the opening Motoamerica weekend were much stronger than the finishes indicated. Coming into the race, the team had minimal pre-season testing. In addition, Jacobsen was injured in his crash on Saturday. Despite all of these limiting factors he was able to run in third place and finished in 6th overall on Saturday.
