Margo is joined by Lisa Bardot, an illustrator, author, and Procreate educator who has spent the past decade helping people discover the joy of drawing digitally. She's the founder of Art Maker's Club, a thriving online membership for Procreate artists, creator of the Making Art Everyday drawing challenge, and the artist behind Bardot Brush, known for its popular Procreate brushes and tutorials. Lisa is making her second appearance on Windowsill Chats, and this time she's digging into what she's learned after years of building online creative communities — and why consistency and connection matter more than raw talent. Margo and Lisa discuss: What Lisa has learned after years of running Making Art Everyday and Art Maker's Club, two of the most active creative communities in the Procreate space Why people join Art Maker's Club thinking they're there to learn Procreate — and why they actually stay for the consistency, encouragement, and friendships Why so many adults stop making art as they get older, and what it takes to reconnect with that creative side of themselves How small, sustainable creative habits can have a bigger impact than sporadic bursts of inspiration Why curiosity is often more valuable than talent when it comes to building a lasting creative practice Reflections on Founder's Month and four years of Art Maker's Club — what's changed, what's stayed the same, and what Lisa's most proud of Practical encouragement for anyone who's been wanting to try Procreate but doesn't know where to start A look at what's coming up during Art Maker's Club's Founder's Month celebration, including live tutorials, community events, and creative challenges Connect with Lisa Bardot: Art Maker's Club: https://artmakersclub.com Instagram: https://instagram.com/lisabardot Procreate Brushes: https://bardotbrush.com YouTube: https://youtube.com/@BardotBrush Connect with Margo: www.windowsillchats.com www.instagram.com/windowsillchats www.patreon.com/inthewindowsill

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Military correspondent Emanuel Fabian joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's episode. Iran fired a volley of missiles at northern Israel Sunday night, catapulting the region back to the cusp of all-out war after two months of a shaky ceasefire, with Israel initially vowing to respond before US President Donald Trump attempted to limit the fallout and keep truce negotiations with Tehran on track. Israel responded overnight and we're recording on Monday morning. We roll back time and give the background and context for the IDF's strikes on Beirut -- ostensibly Iran's trigger for sending some dozen ballistic missiles to Israel last night. Fabian fills us in on a massive subterranean bunker that Hezbollah -- with Iran's help -- carved into a mountain near the iconic Beaufort Castle that sits close to the border with Israel. We learn there are more such sites in southern Israel that the IDF has not yet reached. Hours before the renewed Iran strikes, an Arab Israeli terrorist opened fire in several locations in a shooting spree in central Israel on Sunday, killing an IDF reservist who served as a civil defense squad member, and wounding five other people, before he was shot dead by security forces. Fabian gives us a recap. And finally, we close the program with a look inside news that broke late last week: For the first time, a female combat soldier completed training in the Israeli military’s Sayeret Matkal commando unit. What does this mean for the elite unit? Check out The Times of Israel's ongoing liveblog for more updates. What happens when you wake up one day and realize you've been asleep for 20 years successful on paper, but dead inside? For Brian "Dixon" Dixon, that realization came after a near fatal pulmonary embolism. But it didn't have to. In this powerful episode of Productivity Smarts, host Gerald J. Leonard sits down with Brian Dixon, Colorado based adventurer, speaker, and author of the upcoming book Hold My Beer, I'm Going to Change My Life. Dixon shares his raw, personal journey from decades of misalignment, chasing the wrong career, surrendering his dreams, and becoming a "man zombie," to a life changing breakthrough at age 52, when he finally launched a paraglider off Lookout Mountain, a dream he had buried for 25 years. Gerald and Dixon explore the "provider trap" that causes so many men to lose themselves, the small signals of misalignment we ignore until a crisis hits, and the antidote: Hold My Beer energy, a non negotiable, committed launch toward the one thing that still lights you up. Dixon offers a simple "man zombie test" to check in with yourself, explains why most people never recover their fire, and proves that it's never too late to stop talking about the old days and start living the new ones. Whether you're feeling stuck, burned out, or just vaguely numb, this episode will give you the permission and the push to say, "Hold my beer, I've got something I need to do." Ready to wake up? Listen now and learn how one committed launch can start a positive flywheel that changes everything.   What We Discuss [00:00] Introduction [02:01] Meet Brian "Dixon" and his upcoming book [04:39] The "hold my beer" moment that changed everything [05:35] Living 20 years in misalignment and autopilot [06:46] Financial collapse and personal reset after 2008 [07:42] The life-threatening health scare that sparked change [09:12] Rediscovering a lost dream: paragliding off Lookout Mountain [10:56] Turning one decision into a life transformation [13:55] Defining "hold my beer energy" [14:27] The hidden danger of the provider trap [17:55] Losing yourself in responsibility and routine [19:00] Why making time for yourself is essential [20:52] How to realign your life before a crisis hits [22:09] The "man zombie test" and self-check questions [24:05] Tackling misalignment one decision at a time [25:11] Why commitment, not interest, drives transformation [26:19] Building a positive momentum flywheel [27:08] Reigniting passion at any stage of life [30:13] Signs you're losing your fire and how to reverse it [31:56] It's never too late: overcoming the "I'm stuck" mindset [34:35] Where to find Dixon and what's next  Notable Quotes [05:56] "My passion and my fire for life went to sleep, and I call it a man zombie stage. I basically went into autopilot for 20 years." – Brian Dixon [08:35] "After the pulmonary embolism, I said: I am halfway through my life. I am 44 years old and I have been asleep this whole time." – Brian Dixon [15:21] "I feel like men can lose themselves inside of that provider ship piece – they don't have any guardrails for their own dreams." – Brian Dixon [21:56] "The big thing is, it's tough for men to actually know they're asleep. If you're taking a nap in the middle of the night, you don't know you're asleep." – Brian Dixon [22:23] "When is the last time you did something just for you? Not for your boss, not for your spouse, not for your kids? These check-in questions can help you avoid the hospital." – Brian Dixon [24:20] "Eat the elephant one step at a time. Find the one thing that's most misaligned. Then hold my beer – non-negotiable. Nothing's going to stop me." – Brian Dixon [24:44] "When you launch a paraglider, we call it a committed launch. Life or death. That's how you should treat Hold My Beer." – Brian Dixon [30:56] "If you ever find yourself where most of your conversation is about how things used to be, that's a trigger signal. Your fire is going out. You should be talking about what you're planning on doing right now." – Brian Dixon [31:35] "You don't quit snowboarding when you get old. You get old because you quit snowboarding." – Brian Dixon [33:59] "It's never too late if you can kindle that fire again." – Brian Dixon   Resource and Links Brian "Dixon" Dixon Website: www.gowithdixon.com Book: Hold My Beer, I'm Going to Change My Life (coming Fall)   Productivity Smarts Podcast Website - productivitysmartspodcast.com Gerald J. Reigniting Life After Gray Divorce with: Dr . Heather Theisen Gándara

While divorce rates among younger adults have declined in recent decades, one demographic is experiencing a dramatic rise in separation: adults over 45. According to research from Bowling Green State University, roughly one-third of all U.S. divorces now occur among couples in midlife and beyond—a phenomenon often referred to as “gray divorce.” The American Psychological Association notes that these life transitions can bring major emotional, financial, and identity-related challenges, while also opening the door to profound resilience, reinvention, and personal growth. In this inspiring episode, we sit down with Heather Theisen-Gándara, founder of Reignite Collective, to explore what it truly means to rebuild life after divorce—and why women over 40 are discovering that their next chapter can become their most powerful one yet. Dr. Theisen-Gándara shares her remarkable journey from rural Wisconsin to becoming an internationally experienced leader, educator, and mentor. As the first person in her family to hold a passport, her life expanded through extensive work and travel across Latin America, where she developed fluency in Spanish and a deep passion for cross-cultural connection. With a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, a Master's in Counseling, and more than two decades of experience in international diplomacy and large-scale organizational leadership, she has partnered with global organizations including the United States Department of State, ExxonMobil, and Baker Hughes. But behind the impressive résumé was a deeply personal reinvention story. After the end of a 24-year marriage, Dr. Theisen-Gándara faced the emotional and financial realities that many women experience after divorce. Instead of allowing that season to define her, she rebuilt from the ground up—reclaiming financial independence, prioritizing wellness, losing nearly 100 pounds, and rediscovering her confidence, identity, and purpose. Through Reignite Collective, she now helps women navigate holistic recovery after divorce by focusing on emotional healing, wellness, financial empowerment, self-confidence, and personal style. Her message is both compassionate and transformational: divorce is not the end of a woman's story—it can be the beginning of her most empowered chapter. In this conversation, we discuss: This episode is a powerful reminder that healing and reinvention are possible at any stage of life—and that sometimes the most beautiful chapters begin after everything changes.     For more information: https://www.reignitecollective.com/ Follow: @HeatherGlowsAgain   Learn more about your ad choices. For Sarah Allred, that moment came while sitting on the couch, eating Cheetos and watching The Bachelor… just days into her husband's medical school journey. That wake-up call sparked something deeper. Not a desire for money, but a need for growth, purpose, and identity. Todd Blanche is the interim replacement, Lee Zeldin among the candidates for the permanent job, and a British newspaper reports the tipping point was Trump's rage that Bondi had not jailed any of Trump's democratic opponents. The Daily Mail also says he was furious Bondi seemed to have intervened in a plan to release the investigatory files on Congressman Eric Swalwell, even though Swalwell had been cleared by the FBI.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode I am once again joined by Dr Francisco José Luis, scholar of Indo-Iranian Studies and Comparative Religion trained at the Sorbonne, Paris and SOAS, London. Francisco shares his research into the links between Indian and Tibetan tantric practices and the mystical teachings of Shi'ite Islam, reveals the prevalence of lucid dreaming techniques in antiquity, and emphasises the importance of the Silk Road in transmitting esoteric knowledge between civilisations. Francisco discusses the Islamic yogi, Jâbir ibn Ḥayyān; traces the historical tensions between the scholarly, jurist factions and mystics within Shi'ism; and asserts that Iranian Buddhism was a key part of the Islamic Golden Age. Francisco also argues for significant Islamic influence on Buddhism, the need for a sense of civilisational greatness, and why he believes the time has to come to reignite sacred chivalry. … Video version: https://www.guruviking.com/podcast/ep354-islamic-mysticism-tantric-buddhism-francisco-jose-luis Also available on Youtube, iTunes, & Spotify – search ‘Guru Viking Podcast'. … Topics include: 00:00 - Intro 01:02 - Lucid dreaming techniques in a 19th century Shi'ite text 03:34 - The focal point of the Shi'ite tradition 04:28 - 4 volume Shi'ite encyclopaedia of dreams 06:21 - Links between Tibetan and Shi'ite dream yoga techniques 08:01 - Silk road, Gandhāra, and the internationalisation of Buddhism 09:07 - Jâbir ibn Ḥayyān, the Islamic alchemist and “Buddhist yogi” 11:06 - Iranian Buddhist influence on the Golden Age of Islam 14:26 - The rise of the scholar 16:20 - Islamic influence on Buddhism 17:04 - Practice over dogma in Oḍḍiyāna 19:11 - The influence of Classical Greece 19:51 - Lucid dreaming in antiquity 22:27 - Hesychasm: a Christian breath, body, and mind meditation 25:16 - A prophet is always awake 26:19 - Rosary and the influence of Christianity on Islam 28:01 - Lucid dreaming and the Desert Fathers 31:54 - Sleep deprivation to achieve mystical states 37:51 - Bardo ideas and the Iranian worldview 40:49 - Monastic routine and lucid dreaming 42:57 - Tasks to complete in the dream 43:28 - Angelic possession and contacting the Imam in dreams 50:28 - Is mystical Shi'ism practiced today? 58:22 - Francisco's initiation and anti-mystical, Occidental materialism 59:20 - Political Shi'ism 01:01:41 - Attachment to matter to the detriment of spirit 01:02:07 - The need for the spirit for civilisational greatness 01:04:13 - Francisco's mentoring 01:07:14 - Reigniting sacred chivalry 01:08:07 - Plato, Evola, and Traditionalism 01:10:19 - Use of the letter “a” in Shi'ite mysticism and other tantric similarities 01:11:13 - Entheogen use in Iranian mysticism 01:12:06 - Francisco's mushroom trip 01:13:23 - Francisco's aims 01:15:22 - Reading recommendations: Henry Corbin and Mostafa Vaziri 01:19;18 - Buddhism in Iran … Previous episodes with Dr Francisco José Luis: - https://www.guruviking.com/ To find our more about Dr Francisco José Luis, visit: - https://www.instagram.com/hludvig_tradicionalista For more interviews, videos, and more visit: - https://www.guruviking.com Music ‘Deva Dasi' by Steve James

Christa sits down with Andrea Clark, marriage and family therapist with 28 years of experience helping thousands of women reignite spark, polarity, and devotion in their marriages. Andrea breaks down the overfunctioning-underfunctioning dynamic that kills attraction and explains how it's deeply connected to masculine and feminine polarity. They discuss why women often take on masculine energy in their marriages (managing, controlling, doing everything), how this creates distance and resentment, and what it looks like to create space for your husband to step up. Andrea offers practical guidance on how to stop overfunctioning without becoming passive, how to access your feminine energy without losing yourself, and why polarity matters for desire and connection. If you're exhausted from carrying the mental load and wondering why the spark is gone, this conversation will help you understand the deeper pattern at play. Send a textWant your desire back without pretending you're who you were at 22? We sit down with therapist and sex therapist Brooke Bray Love to unpack how midlife women can rekindle pleasure by changing the script—less waiting to feel “spontaneous,” more creating conditions where desire can actually show up. Brooke brings two decades of clinical experience and a candid voice to topics most people still whisper about, from scheduling sex to why clitoral stimulation isn't optional for most women. We explore the big shift from spontaneous to responsive desire and why planning “sexy time” is a sign of care, not failure. Brooke breaks down practical tools—lube for hormonal changes, vibrators as legitimate aids, erotica for mental priming—and reframes “owning your orgasm” as the fastest route to confidence and clear communication. If penetration-only sex leaves you cold, you're not broken; the data says expand your menu. We also talk about how to build a transition ritual that guides your nervous system from stress to sensual, using breathwork, bilateral stimulation, and mindful touch to create safety and arousal. The conversation goes deeper into fantasies, polarity, and parts work: how strong, capable women can crave softness or submission without betraying themselves, and why fantasy is a laboratory for balance, not a contract to act. We offer a simple activity consensus tool to find overlap in desires, so you can try one aligned novelty at a time. And because culture starts at home, we share how to talk to kids about accurate body terms, consent as an ongoing process, masturbation without shame, and ethical context for porn—moving from fear to education. If you're ready to trade scripts that center someone else's pleasure for a life that centers your own, this is your roadmap.
