John sits down with Beau Vore to hear about his radio show and how God is using it to point people to Jesus. They talk about sticky issues like AI, aliens, even Melchizedek, and try to help engage people with God's Word. Beau does not hold back in how he believes every Christian can similarly be a domino in making disciples. To learn more about The Tabernacle, visit: https://thetabchurch.com
This concept may get a chuckle or two. However, this operating tenant is often times skimmed over in the board rooms and training rooms. The customer experience is set on the right axis if the vendor displays genuine politeness. This is especially important in the first 30 seconds of a business relationship. Starting the transaction, and continuing the transaction with the common thread of politeness will enhance positive reviews for each customer experience. It's simple, yet grossly overlooked. Maybe it's time to find out what your customers think of you? Don't be shy… ask the question and be prepared to be a little shocked.Support the show
If being direct feels mean, this episode is for you....Many women are taught from a young age to be agreeable, accommodating, and keep the peace. Then they step into leadership and discover that clarity, accountability, and difficult conversations are part of the job. That tension can make leadership feel uncomfortable....In this episode, Marie Sonnemann breaks down why directness often feels so hard for women, how passive communication creates more anxiety than clarity, and why avoiding conflict doesn't make you kind, it makes you unclear....You'll learn:Why directness is often the kinder leadership choiceHow passive-aggressive communication damages trustWhat employees really need during difficult conversations. The difference between being nice and being clearWhy strong leaders create clarity while weak leaders create confusionHow to stop worrying about being perceived as "too much" and start leading with confidenceMarie also shares a personal story about navigating a grumpy week, the power of resetting when you're off your game, and why getting back up after a setback is one of the most badass things you can do....If you've ever softened your message, over-explained yourself, or worried that being direct would make people dislike you, this conversation will challenge the way you think about leadership and communication....Because leadership isn't about being harsh. It's about respecting people enough to tell them the truth.

In this week's episode, we're talking about why women struggle to talk about money — and how that silence can hold us back in business. Inspired by Emma Grede's book Start With Yourself, we break down the conditioning that teaches women to stay quiet about finances, and how that impacts pricing, negotiating, paying ourselves, and owning our success. We also cover the key business numbers every owner should know — revenue, expenses, profit, break-even point, and owner pay — and why understanding them gives you the confidence to make better decisions and advocate for your worth. This episode is a reminder that knowing your numbers isn't selfish or bragging — it's power! In this episode, Dr. K explores the science of flirting and romantic connection, revealing why most people find it so frustrating and inconsistent. He breaks down the psychological theory of play, the five distinct styles of flirting, and why maintaining plausible deniability is the most vital feature of any romantic interaction. What to expect in this episode: The Plausible Deniability Rule: Understanding why flirting is intentionally designed to be ambiguous to maintain social safety and avoid being perceived as "creepy". The Detection Gap: A look at research showing that humans are 84% accurate at sensing a lack of interest, but only correctly identify flirting 28% of the time. Five Styles of Flirting: A breakdown of the Traditional, Physical, Sincere, Playful, and Polite archetypes and how to identify which style you and your partner prefer. Hygiene vs. Genetics: Why scientific data suggests that bad hygiene and a "slimy" approach are far more significant deal breakers than having "poor looks". The Power of Awkwardness: Why showing embarrassment after a rejection is actually a positive empathic signal that proves you respect boundaries and care about the other person. Negativity Bias in Dating: How low self-esteem creates a filter that causes you to interpret 70% of ambiguous signals as negative, leading to a cycle of perceived failure. Neurodivergence and Ambiguity: Why those on the autism spectrum struggle with flirting due to its reliance on non-verbal "theory of mind" rather than rigid, logical rules. The Sequence of Flirting: A deep dive into how signaling availability often serves as the necessary first step before a successful approach can happen. October 7 and the Gaza war radically changed the way many people around the world, including Diaspora Jews, viewed Israel. For Toronto-based journalist Jesse Brown, the turning point came not with Hamas' massacre itself, but with the domestic backlash that followed. “Canadians got angry with Jews after October 7, and the entire national discourse seemed to just turn against Jews in a way that I wouldn’t have imagined possible,” he told the Haaretz Podcast. Using police-reported hate crime statistics from Canada and the United States, Brown argues that a Jew in Canada is now about nine times more likely to be the victim of a hate crime than a Jew in the United States. Ironically, he explained to podcast host Allison Kaplan Sommer, the progressive political atmosphere in Canada has made things worse for Jews, not better. Brown’s podcast series “What is Happening Here” documents the skyrocketing antisemitism targeting Jewish institutions and neighborhoods in Canada, including synagogues being shot at, firebombed or vandalized, and Jewish-owned businesses and individuals singled out for harassment campaigns. Brown contends that debates over whether specific chants or actions are “anti-Israel,” “anti-Zionist” or “antisemitic” obscure the practical impact on Jewish communities. While he stops short of equating anti-Zionism with antisemitism, Brown said that contemporary anti-Zionism is “just as dangerous to Jews.” Read more: Canadian Watchdog Reports Record Number of Antisemitic Incidents in 2025 Canadian-Jewish Groups Decry Efforts by pro-Palestinian Groups to Strip Jewish Schools of Their Charity Status Toronto Police Arrest Suspect in Passover Shooting at Jewish-owned Restaurant Campaign Targeting Jewish Children's Summer Camps in Canada Condemned as AntisemiticSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

A TON people talk about real estate. They actually did it. In this episode, we sit down with Dedric Polite and Krystal Polite, the husband and wife duo behind Polite Properties and stars of the hit show 50/50 Flip. They break down how they went from corporate jobs and zero experience… to building a real estate portfolio of nearly 100 doors, launching multiple businesses, and creating true financial freedom for their family. We dive into the early days of investing over $25,000 into education before closing a single deal, the moment they finally broke through with their first wholesale checks, and how one deal turned into over six figures and completely changed their trajectory. They also share how they used real estate as a vehicle to fund bigger opportunities including leveraging one property into launching a franchise business and why real estate is just the starting point, not the end goal. This episode goes beyond strategy. It is about mindset, partnership, and taking action before you feel ready. You will hear how they divided roles as a couple, why “jump and build your wings on the way down” became their philosophy, and how they are building generational wealth with intention so their kids don't just inherit money… they inherit the mindset that created it. If you've been waiting for the “right time” to start… this is your sign that it's already here. This is a free preview of a paid episode. To hear more, visit www.theflyingfrisby.comThis weekend, on the advice of ChatGPT, I visited Constable country. That is Essex, the villages of Dedham and East Bergholt, by the River Stour, which John Constable so famously painted.Having just spent a fortnight in Namibia, I've become attuned to stunning landscapes. Even so, I was blown away by the beauty of the place. Here are some snaps to get you in the zone.I went with a French friend who wanted to see the “real England”, but not too far from Stansted Airport. As we drove into East Bergholt, I began, as I always do as soon as I see them, to despair at the ugliness of modern buildings. No wonder we have so many NIMBYs, when what gets built around beautiful villages is so bland and ugly. Objection is both rational and natural. But then we turned a corner and everything was suddenly stunning. It's not a part of the world I knew. I had lazily assumed all of Essex looked like Basildon. It doesn't. It was glorious. You could really see the Dutch and Flemish influence in the architecture and the colours they were painted - so different to the equally beautiful Cotswolds, where I was last weekend doing gigs.We were only sixty miles from London, but it still felt like an England of old, unblighted. My French companion could not understand what I had been moaning about when I complain about decline. This was the England she knew growing up, and she got excited by everything. Scones. Tea. Churches. Beautiful landscapes. Polite conversation. Phone boxes. Properly kept gardens. Even the beer. “It's not cold,” she said, before promptly downing it.My oft-cited complaint that the England she knew is disappearing seemed nonsense. There was no evidence of it here.As we walked into Manningtree, the buildings got ugly again. Warehouses and industrial buildings, in particular. Nineteenth century warehouses were often things of beauty. Why can 21st century warehouses not be? (The answer lies in our system of measurement, but that's for another day). Then we learnt about Matthew Hopkins, the Witchfinder General, who operated here, exploiting the social upheaval of the English Civil War to have hundreds of women executed as witches. Among his methods of getting to the “truth” he used sleep deprivation to extract confessions; he tied victims to chairs and dropped them into the estuary. If they floated, they were witches. If they sank, they weren't. I guess the victims lost either way. He strip-searched women looking for signs of the mark of the devil. If he couldn't find any he pricked them with knives until he found the signs he was looking for. Just horrible. Maybe the English past isn't quite so idyllic after all. Here's what makes it worse. For every witch he successfully hunted down, the government gave him fee. He got very rich. Show me the incentive and I will show you the outcome. A lot of innocent dead women. An early gruesome example of the law of unintended consequences. Remind me why I'm a libertarian again.Today, if we are heading into the civil war many think we are, who knows what kind of witch hunts we are going to see in the name of some nuts ideology? We caught a train from Mistley back to Manningtree. More grim modern housing. Lots of it too. More walking then a short river boat tour. We mentioned we were staying at a village up the road, East Bergholt, and one of the locals declared this was the last chance to enjoy it before more new-build goes up. “We need 1.5 million homes,” he said. “The question is, do we have 1.5 million people who are going to buy them?”Articulated right there is the property crisis coming to a town near you.I have long argued that beautiful property will keep its value. Ugly new build won't. Beautiful is pretty much synonymous with period. It was built using traditional measures, where proportion is intrinsic. No such proportion is inherent to metric. We are already seeing the unravelling of the new-build market in London. That unravelling is coming to everywhere there is ugly new build, whether blocks of flats or houses. We did find one modern close in East Bergholt that was actually beautiful by the way. So it's possible. But it's the exception, not the rule. This is one of the reasons I invest so much of my capital outside the UK. I don't like sterling, so I hold gold and bitcoin, and I don't like gilts. A weakening property market, which is happening right on cue, will create problems for both.If you live in a third world country such as the UK, I urge you to own gold or silver. The pound will be further devalued, as will the euro and dollar. The bullion dealer I use and recommend is The Pure Gold Company. They deliver to the UK, the US, Canada and Europe. More here.Idyllic corners of England do still exist. Many of them. UK shares already offer value. There is a lot to like in the UK, as my French companion kept pointing out. But there are also big problems ahead, with a leadership class that, shall we say, falls short.Opportunities abroad, howeverI sit regularly on a roundtable with Doug Casey and a number of other mining newsletter writers. He nearly quit after 7 months. Zero placements. Nothing working. He packed his things into a cardboard box, walked toward the door, and heard his colleagues talking about him behind his back. What they said stopped him. He turned around, sat back down, and made two placements by the end of that week. That was 1982. He never left. In this episode, Rich breaks down the daily habits behind 44 years of consistent billings. He's used the handwritten planner for nearly 40 years. Why does he track talk time instead of call volume? And the old-school business development strategy most recruiters have abandoned. Rich is the founder of Team Bradley and a Pinnacle Society member for nearly 30 years. He's billed $28 million personally. At 67, working solo alongside his wife, he's still going strong. This isn't about talent. It's about cadence, commitment, and building a career you actually want to keep. If you're wondering whether you can sustain this long term, this episode will change how you think about the business. In this episode of Love Conquers Alz, hosts Susie Singer Carter and Don Priess welcome Kathy Bradley, a nationally respected advocate with over 3 decades of experience in long-term care and the founder of Our Mother's Voice. After retiring from a career as a nursing home administrator, Kathy faced the system again as a daughter when her own mother rapidly declined into severe dementia. What she experienced changed everything.Despite knowing the system inside and out, Kathy struggled to get her mother the care she needed. That journey led her to create Our Mother's Voice, a nonprofit that provides free services and is dedicated to helping families understand their rights, advocate effectively, and navigate one of the most complex and overwhelming systems many will ever face.In this powerful conversation, you'll hear:• Why so many families feel powerless in long-term care• What to do when something “feels off” with your loved one's care• The importance of documentation and speaking the right language• How systemic issues and financial incentives impact quality of care• Practical ways to advocate without burning bridges or risking retaliation• And why love, empathy, and human connection still matter mostThis episode is both a wake-up call and a guide.Because every family will face this moment. And no one should have to face it alone. If you like what you saw and heard today, please follow, share, tell everyone about it, and also definitely go to www.roar4ltc.org.
In this episode of The Real Wealth Show, Kathy Fettke sits down with real estate investors Dedric and Krystal Polite to talk about what it really takes to build generational wealth—and why most people never get started. Like many aspiring investors, they had the books, the education, and the desire—but it wasn't until they took action that everything changed . Today, they've built a thriving real estate business, starred in their own TV show, and are focused on helping others create long-term wealth through investing. In this conversation, they break down the difference between earning income and building lasting wealth, why they use wholesaling and flipping to generate cash—but rely on buy-and-hold rentals to create true financial freedom—and how they're intentionally building a legacy for their family. They also share what it's like to build a business as a couple, how they divide roles to make it work, and why teaching their kids about money and ownership is a core part of their mission. This episode is a powerful reminder that no one is coming to build your wealth for you. But with the right mindset, the right strategy, and a willingness to take action, it's possible to create financial freedom that lasts for generations. ☀️

In this episode, I break down the consequences of being too polite in your business, and how giving clear directions supports smarter decisions and sustainable small business growth. Most businesses assume customers instinctively know what to do next, but I've seen time and again that politeness and vague invitations like, "reach out anytime," actually create confusion and hurt website conversion. I dive into the psychology behind decision paralysis, sharing why loading up your website or marketing with too many options overwhelms your audience rather than serves them. You'll hear some real-world examples (like the classic restaurant menu meltdown) that illustrate how clarity, not more choices, is the secret to moving customers forward. We'll explore practical website strategy tips that help you balance being inviting without coming across as pushy. I'll show you what it looks like to give your homepage, service pages, and calls to action just one job each, making every next step obvious and easy for your visitors, and maximizing your website conversion along the way.Whether you run a service-based or local business, you'll walk away with concrete steps to streamline your website, create clear invitations, and eliminate the friction that's been quietly stalling your growth.01:38 – How too many options create decision paralysis03:34 – Why your customers need permission to take the next step06:46 – Why your website needs one job per page 08:57 – Matching your call to action to where your customer is12:20 – Action steps to create clear direction and maximize website conversionLinks & Resources:The 3-second test (free!)Watch this episode on YouTube.Follow me on Instagram @kristendoyle.co Let's talk about your website and systems: Book a Website Gameplan Call Explore your options for working together: Web Design Services Rate & review Small Business Savvy on Apple PodcastsShow Notes: https://kristendoyle.co/episode180 Send us a text! Send a textOne sentence can flip a whole date from “this is cute” to “we live in different worlds.” I'm Carmen Ramos, and I'm telling the story of a candlelit dinner with a charming guy I call Mr Traditional until he drops a line that turns the night into a real-time psychology lesson: “Cooking and cleaning is a necessity for dating a woman.” That's not small talk. That's a worldview. We dig into what comments like that actually signal in modern dating: gender roles, entitlement, and the quiet power dynamics hiding inside “preferences.” I break down how people reveal their relationship model without realizing it, usually by repeating what they saw growing up, whether that's partnership, teamwork, or service-based rules. If you care about emotional intelligence, boundaries, and building healthy relationships, this is a practical way to read the room without overthinking. Most importantly, we redefine intuition. Intuition isn't magic, and it isn't paranoia. It's pattern recognition, and it gets sharper when you pay attention to what people say they expect from you. I also share how to maneuver these moments: when to ask questions, when to challenge, and when to smile politely, finish your dinner, and choose alignment over potential. If you've ever heard a first-date comment that changed everything, hit play, subscribe to My Chic Intuition, share this with a friend, and leave a review. As an INFP, have you ever apologized to a chair you bumped into? Or felt a wave of genuine guilt when you had to throw away a "lonely" stuffed animal? In this video, we're unpacking one of the most relatable (and slightly insufferable) INFP quirks: our tendency to personify everything. From "Penzy" the lost pen to feeling bad for the store-brand mascot sitting next to Tony the Tiger, we breathe life into the inanimate objects around us.I saw a Reddit post that said this was the "most INFP thing ever," and it sparked a deep dive into why our brains are wired this way. We'll explore:• The Soul & The Explorer: How Introverted Feeling (Fi) and Extraverted Intuition (Ne) team up to project identity and "consciousness" onto objects.• The Underdog Object: Why we feel a deep need to protect things that look forgotten or "doofy."• The Beanie Baby Culture: Why throwing away a collection feels like betraying a society.• Gratitude Mechanics: How thanking your tools and car can actually be leveraged to build better habits and state-shifting.• Turning it into Art: Why this "flaw" is actually a superpower for storytelling, character design, and TTRPGs.If you've ever said goodnight to your stuffed animals individually or felt "actual pain" for a mannequin, you're not broken. You're just playing the INFP character class :PLet's talk about how to use this empathy to move the XP needle forward in your life instead of getting stuck in a decision-guilt spiral.READY TO LEVEL UP? He’s perfect at school. Polite. Award-winning. Well behaved. Then he comes home… and explodes. If your 7–8-year-old is melting down over TV, pushing boundaries, or even getting physical when you say no — this episode will help you understand what’s really going on beneath the surface. We unpack the hidden developmental shifts happening in boys around this age, why “just turn it off” can feel impossible for them, and practical strategies to reduce the blow-ups — without constant battles. If you’re exhausted, confused, or questioning yourself… this one’s for you. KEY POINTS Why boys around 7–8 experience a surge in emotional intensity (adrenarche) The surprising reason “good at school” can mean explosions at home Why turning off TV feels bigger than it looks How to build emotional regulation before age 10 A powerful way to teach healthy masculinity early Practical tools: transitions, routines, signals, and collaborative problem-solving QUOTE OF THE EPISODE “A strong, healthy man doesn’t use his strength to dominate. He uses it to help the people around him feel safer and stronger.” ACTION STEPS FOR PARENTS Pre-plan transitions before TV ends — decide together what happens next. Use a neutral signal (timer, lights, countdown) to reduce confrontation. Have calm conversations later, not in the heat of the moment. Teach emotional strength explicitly — especially for boys. Stay consistent. Regulation takes repetition, not one perfect talk. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

She ignored her gut instincts until she asked him one direct question…then what happened next will shake you to your core!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this episode of Reboot IT, host Dave Coriale, President of DelCor, sits down with David Stephenson, SVP of Technology at Entrepreneurs' Organization, to unpack what true collaboration really means in associations and nonprofits. Together, they explore the difference between transactional vendor relationships and deep strategic partnerships, how to build psychological safety within project teams, and why honest dialogue is essential for successful outcomes. David also shares practical tactics for selecting partners, navigating conflict, and reducing organizational risk through collaborative practices.Themes and Topics:What Collaboration Really Is (and Isn't)Collaboration isn't about being nice or making sure “everyone's at the table.” It's about having the right mix of people with different perspectives. When everyone thinks the same and has the same motivations, you end up with polite agreement, not real progress. There's a big difference between just enlarging a meeting and actually collaborating with intention.Getting the Right Mix: Staff, Members, Vendors, and PartnersAssociations juggle vendors, partners, staff, and members, each with different levels of involvement and motivation.David distinguishes between people who are in the weeds with you (like design and development partners) and those who play a key but more behind‑the‑scenes role (like hosting providers).Upfront, he works to get everyone on the same page: What problem are we solving? What role do you play? What's your motive (and recognizing that everyone has one, and that's okay)?Vendors vs. Partners: Building the Right Kind of RelationshipIn his head, David does see a spectrum: some are more transactional services (SaaS products, integration tools), while others are strategic partners who need to understand mission, business objectives, and strategy. He tries not to use the word vendor in conversation and instead works to make everyone feel like a partner, even if their role is more narrow. When negotiating, he looks for a fair outcome on both sides — if a partner walks away with “really thin margins,” you end up with constant “change order” moments and a strained dynamic from day one.Honest Dialogue, Healthy Friction, and Psychological SafetyDavid values partners who can say things like “That's just not possible,” or “That doesn't align with the strategy you described,” instead of always saying yes.He expects and welcomes friction and hard conversations around timelines, costs, and expectations. If there's zero friction, something's probably off.Psychological safety is key: people need to feel they can disagree, say “I don't think this is working,” or ask tough questions without fearing for their job, contract, or relationship.Doing the Work: Projects, Postmortems, and “Disagree but Commit”David admits he hasn't “cracked the code” on postmortems, but he knows they only work if people feel safe enough to speak up during the project, not just after. When collaboration is done well, it may feel slow at the beginning, but it ultimately makes the work go faster and smoother than siloed, go-it-alone approaches. He likes setting expectations from the start: speak up when it's “cheap to disagree,” and embrace the idea of “disagree, but commit” so the team can move forward with one voice.Collaboration as Risk Reduction for the FutureDavid sees collaboration as a way to de‑risk his future; the stronger his network and partnerships, the better prepared he is for what's coming.Staying insular and only looking inside your own team or organization raises your risk, especially in fast-changing areas like technology and AI.By collaborating widely and intentionally, associati

If your ex is still controlling you and you keep reacting, explaining, or trying to keep the peace… you might be actively hurting your legal case without even realizing it.Because here's the thing: divorce doesn't cure controlling behavior—it often exposes it. And control doesn't always look loud. Sometimes it looks “polite.” Sometimes it looks like silence. Sometimes it looks like a thousand tiny moments that make your stomach drop.In this episode of How Not to Suck at Divorce, attorney Morgan Stogsdill and comedian Andrea Rappaport break down what control looks like after separation, why it escalates, and the legal + emotional action steps to shut it down. And yes—there's also a story involving a tambourine, a fire-lit “happiness class,” and a man casually threatening everyone with a tombstone. (Welcome to the show.)What You'll Learn in This Episode✅ How control shows up during divorce (even when it's not obvious)Morgan explains that control can look like:Financial control: “I'll pay when I feel like it,” monitoring spending, moving goalpostsMicromanaging parenting and second-guessing everything you doWeaponized silence / delayed responses to make you spiralMaking you feel like you need permission for decisions you don't need permission for“Polite” manipulation disguised as “concern for the kids”Why control often escalates after separationAndrea explains the psychology: when someone loses access and power, they often pull harder—because control is how they regulate their discomfort. The dangerous legal issue most people miss: “splitting”Morgan explains how controlling behavior can drive a wedge between you and your attorney—making you doubt your lawyer, hold back details, or get pulled into the ex's narrative. That's not just stressful. It can derail your strategy and cost you serious money. The communication trap that keeps you stuckIf your nervous system is hijacked every time they text you, you'll default to the old pattern:ReactingOver-explainingTrying to smooth things overTrying to get them to “understand”Which gives them exactly what they want: access. The Tools That Help You Stop the Control1) Tighten the structure (legally + logistically)Morgan explains why vague agreements don't work with controlling people. Example of vague: “reasonable communication.” Problem: “reasonable” becomes a playground for manipulation.2) Reduce accessBecause (say it with us): control fades when access fades. That may mean:limiting communicationusing a parenting appnot responding to baitpushing...
