Most people predicted that Marc Marquez's arrival in the factory Ducati MotoGP team was going to be bad news for Pecco Bagnaia, but this bad?Ducati's lead title hope for the last four seasons (and twice world champion for it) hasn't beaten his new team-mate in a straight fight at all yet or even looked like doing so.Val Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer put Bagnaia's disappointing 2025 form centre stage in the latest episode of The Race MotoGP Podcast. Is Bagnaia tinkering with the ‘GP25-ish' too much searching for something that will prove impossible to find and does he just need to get on with riding it?Does Bagnaia now have to start thinking about a move away from Ducati? And is Fermin Aldeguer already poised to take his place? We let long-time Aldeguer advocate Val go suitably nuts about the Gresini rookie's rise as he starts to prove Ducati right for committing to him so early.Want more MotoGP podcast content? Jim and Rich dive into the crazy, complicated and confusing Grand Prix from Le Mans. The Moto3 boys kicked off the action on damp but drying tack on Sunday morning. The race was calm by the normal Moto3 standards, but the last lap more than made up for the lack of action. Kelso was looking for his first ever Moto3 win and was leading Munoz and Rueda. In the second to last turn Munoz dive bombed Kelso which caused both to go off track. This allowed Rueda to pass both of them and take a surprise victory. The Moto2 riders were forced to watch the back of Gonzalez for the whole race as he dominated. MotoGP was where all the action and surprises were. Quartararo shocked with pole position or Marc Marquez.. In the Sprint Marc used a smooth and patient approach to take the win over his brother and rookie sensation Aldeguer. On Sunday the weather played havoc with everyone as new rules caused chaos. Picking the right tire was critical as some riders went from slicks to wets to slicks and back to wets. However the man who made all the right calls was Zarco. He became the first Frenchmen to win the French Grand Prix in 71 years. Why did so many other riders who had the chance to match Zarco's strategy choose not to?Did the new rules prompted by Marquez's dash off the Austin grid work on their first appearance and was this actually a great race (Matt thinks so and Val sort of agrees) or a rubbish and processional non-spectacle? (Simon thinks so).Want more MotoGP podcast content? Sign up to our motorbike-only Riders tier on Patreon for our 2015 revisited series, ad-free listening and more. Dre Harrison, Richard Asher and Oriol Puigdemont host an emergency edition of Tank Slappers off the back of one of the biggest bombshell MotoGP stories of 2025 so far. The majority of the show is taken up with the breaking news that Jorge Martin met with Aprilia discreetly during the French GP weekend at Le Mans and told the team that he intends to leave at the end of the season via a performance clause that was in his contract that gave him an option to leave after six races if Martin wasn't placed high enough in the Championship. Oriol breaks down how this story came about, the logic behind Martin activating the clause in his contract, where Martin may intend to move to as a result if he fully commits to leaving, and what this means for Aprilia going forward if their news talismanic rider wants to leave despite just one GP weekend with the team so far. There's also a short review of the French GP itself, as Johann Zarco become the first premier class home winner of the race since 1954, as well as why it was a huge weekend for Marc Marquez in the Championship fight, and Pecco Bagnaia's latest explanations for his struggles after leaving the weekend without a single point.
Jim and Rich catch up to talk through the race action at Jerez. The MotoGP race delivered the main talking points of the weekend, with Marc Marquez crashing out and younger brother Alex taking his maiden main race win. Heading into Round 6 at Le Mans, the championship is tight at top with the Marquez brothers and Bagnaia separated by just 20 points. Alex Marquez said to the media at the start of the season that he might win a MotoGP race, 'If his brother let him." And in his 93rd attempt, at his home Grand Prix, the younger Marquez brother finally has his first GP victory. Dre Harrison is joined by Autosport MotoGP reporter Richard Asher, and Motorsport.com MotoGP writer Uri Puigdemont to review an incredibly dramatic Spanish GP weekend with 100,000 in attendance in Jerez. If you didn't know any better, you may have thought Alex Marquez took a page out of his older brother's book to win across the weekend. Two crashes on Friday, then a lap record in practise, and then taking advantage of Marc crashing early on, making one pass for the lead, and then taking off. But is the Spaniard a genuine title contender now he's leading the standings again by just a single point. What about the factory Ducati camp? Pecco Bagnaia was very vocal about struggling to extract the full speed out of his GP25, esepcially with the Sprint tank in on Saturday's. And as for Marc Marquez, is he struggling to figure out where the limit is on his bike after another Sunday crash? Fabio Quartararo had an incredible weekend, with his first pole position for Yamaha in nearly three years, and second place in the GP, their first podium in a year and a half. Is there hope for the factory, and how is their V4 coming along? And with back-to-back strong races from Maverick Vinales, is Pedro Acosta under more pressure to leave KTM? All that and more on a busy episode of Tank Slappers!

im and Rich dive into the Qatar Grand Prix in this episode. They guys cover all of the great racing action as all three races plus the sprint with action packed and full of drama. The Moto3 boys started off the evening with a great race that came down to a last lap, last corner dash to the line. By luck or great race strategy Piqueras won his second race of the year will Rueda had a mechanical failure and did not earn any points. Next up the Moto2 Crew had a good as as championship leader Jake Dixon crashed out and slow starting front row man Canet went from 3rd on the grid to 14th and then chased down the leaders to win his first race of the year and take the lead in the championship. Lastly the MotoGP grid bolstered by the return of Martin had their best races of the season. Marc Marquez won the sprint while Bagnaia finished 8th. The race Sunday night was action filled as the Marquez brother tangled at the first turn. Surprisingly Vinales raced to the front on his KTM only to run wide and let Marc take the victory. Bagnaia finished third but was promoted to 2nd after Vinales was penalized for low tire pressure. Morbidelli was third. Dre Harrison is back to host another episode of Tank Slappers after a newsworthy Grand Prix of Qatar, joined by Autosport and Motorsport.com writers Uri Puigdemont and Richard Asher. Once again it was Marc Marquez who dominated from the front to take his third double victory of the season in the Sprint and the Grand Prix. The trio talk about Marquez's brilliance despite the early clash with his brother Alex, and the worry for teammate Francesco Bagnaia, who was expected to win on a track he's won at multiple times before. There's also the latest news on the condition of World Champion Jorge Martin, who suffered a horrendous crash after being struck by Fabio DiGiannantonio, and is set to miss three months of racing after having his lung collapse and breaking 11 of his ribs. Maverick Vinales shocked everyone in the sport by giving Marquez a run for his money by finishing second on the road, only to drop to 14th after the race finished due to a breach of the tyre pressure regulations. Dre and Richard discuss whether the rule needs changing after Vinales spent multiple laps leading to bring his tyre pressures down. There's also the polarising performances coming from the Japanese manufactures, as Honda's Johann Zarco continues to impress with a fourth-placed finish, while Fabio Quartararo falls down the order after claiming his first front-row start in nearly three years.
On this week's podcast we review the Qatar Grand Prix and the brilliance of Marc Marquez as he wins again from Pole, we also discuss tyre pressure penalties with Maverick Vinales, Pecco Bagnaia's missed opportunity and the rotten luck of injuries continue for Jorge Martin after a nasty crash on his grand prix return.Crash has been the global leader in terms of MotoGP news and features over the last 20 years so to expand our coverage of the sport we all love, we are now doing a weekly podcast!
In an exclusive interview, Uri Puigdemont sits down with eight-time World Champion and newest Ducati MotoGP rider, Marc Marquez. In it, Marc talks about his career-defining switch from Honda to Ducati in 2023, the relationship between himself and brother Alex as they both compete for the sport's greatest prize, how his family are dealing with the fights on-track, and how he's getting along with new teammate Francesco Bagnaia. There's also a deep dive into Marquez's mentality, from the recent chaos of that aborted start in Austin, the crash that ended his perfect start to 2025, and what Marc would tell his 18-year-old self, nearly 15 years after his first World Championship in the 125cc class.
Marc Marquez dominated the timesheet - and the headlines - this weekend at COTA! I discuss his triumphs, mistakes, and why the start of the MotoGP race wasn't that big of a deal. Plus - a Marquez is still atop the standings. The Rundown:- The Red Flagged start was more embarassing than anything- Qualifying: Marc dominates- Sprint: Marc dominates some more- Alex continues to be impress- MotoGP Race: Confusion takes over before the start, but did it all really make a difference?- Marc should have won, makes a massive mistake instead - Pecco is finally in the right place at the right time- VR46 has a great weekend, with a few glares across the garage- Ai Ogura is impressively fast- The MotoGP Championship Picture - things are far more interesting, with an unexpected Marquez leading the way- My take on the AmericasGPWhat did you think of COTA? As MotoGP came north from Argentina and found themselves on American soil once again, they found themselves in several interesting predicaments on multiple occasions!! Friday beckoned with dangerous weather as rain fell and temperatures stayed relatively low, throwing some riders off such as Ai Ogura and Marc Marquez a like!! Saturday proved to be a beautiful day with perfect weather, but with all the rain the day before we saw less than optimal track grip as the rubber was washed off by heavy waterfall. Despite this and some fights from the Ducati's in yellow, we still saw our standard finishing lineup for MotoGP 2025. Insert Sunday, what can we even say about Sunday? From chaos on the grid with riders getting bikes prepped for the rain that may or may not fall, to even more chaos as the pole sitter takes off for the pits with only 3 minutes remaining till warm up lap time!! What ensues after that? Watch/listen and find out, enjoy Episode 99!!! https://fantasy.motogp.com/ Code: NF9ZDUE9 https://www.bittingermotorsports.com/

Given MotoGP came out of Austin, Texas this weekend, it's safe to say we got The Good, The Bad and The Ugly from Marc Marquez, who's controversial last-minute bike switch caused chaos just minutes before the start of the Grand Prix of the Americas. Dre Harrison and Uri Puigdemont break down all the angles from the incident, including the dialogue that led up to Marquez's last-minute switch. This includes why the conditions made that decision so difficult in the first place, why Race Director Mike Webb threw the Red Flag to abandon the start, and why Marquez avoided the ride-through penalty he should have gotten as per the regulations. The race itself also had a dramatic flashpoint with Marc Marquez crashing from the lead of the race, handing a comfortable victory to Francesco Bagnaia, his first of the year. With it, Alex Marquez now leads the Championship, and Bagnaia sits just 11 points behind. The show also features a sit-down interview with Suzuki legend and 1993 MotoGP World Champion Kevin Schwantz, who discusses the dynamics between Ducati teammates Bagnaia and Marquez, where brother Alex fits into the title fight. There's also Kevin's opinion on the state of developing talent in the United States via MotoAmerica, and what MotoGP can learn from F1's Drive to Survive as the sport tries to extend its reach in the US.
Marc Marquez's 2025 MotoGP winning streak ended with a crash from the lead at Austin, but that wasn't actually the most attention-grabbing part of his weekend. His audacious premeditated gamble that he could get the start aborted so he could switch to the right tyres for the drying conditions without getting a penalty paid off, but raised big questions over the robustness and interpretation of the rules around such situation.Simon Patterson, Val Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer explain what happened and why it was so contentious, as well as delving into Marc's subsequent crash and how much he should be castigated for it.Plus our takes on Pecco Bagnaia's sudden title bid revival, Alex Marquez's appearance as world championship leader, Joan Mir and Pedro Acosta's shunts, and a reminder of just how good Jack Miller can be.Want more MotoGP podcast content? Pecco Bagnaia won a dramatic 2025 MotoGP Americas Grand Prix after Ducati team-mate Marc Marquez crashed out of a comfortable lead.Marquez came into Sunday's 20-lap grand prix at COTA looking to extend his 100% winning record in 2025, having taken victory in Saturday's sprint. But he would ultimately crash out of the lead on lap nine, gifting Pecco Bagnaia a comfortable first victory of the season. Second for Alex Marquez means Marc Marquez now trails his younger brother by one point in the standings. There was drama even before the grand prix got underway, as rain prior to lights led most to fit wet tyres, though KTM duo Brad Binder and Enea Bastianini, and Trackhouse Racing's Ai Ogura, fitted slicks. The start was then thrown into chaos with three minutes before lights out, after Marc Marquez ran off the grid to get his dry bike - triggering a number or riders, including Bagnaia, to do the same. With some still on the grid and others running into pitlane with bikes heading in the other direction, the start was delayed.Follow our hosts:Jordan - https://twitter.com/jordanmoreland_Pete - https://twitter.com/McLarenMotoGPLewis - https://x.com/lewis__duncanFollow our channels:Twitter (X) - Crash MotoGPInstagram - Crash MotoGPFacebook - Crash Net MotoGPhttps://www.crash.net/#MotoGP Hosted on Acast. Marshall Ferguson (@TSN_Marsh) and Colin Fraser discuss a wondrous two wheel weekend between Portugal and COTA. Takeaways from Toprak's treble close things out, but the raised eyebrows are endless surrounding Marc Marquez's attempted disappearing act.Intentionally dramatic to get a reaction? Did he actually break FIM rules? Did he even need to play the games as the king of COTA?!

So, people, what did we learn from Argentina? Anything? Apart from things we already knew like Marc Marquez intending to personally torture Boris all year by winning everything all the time, that Senna Agius is REALLY hard to find a decent nickname for or that Baby Jeebus must surely find a new home soon for his extraordinary talent. It's hard to say. And after you listen to this you will still be no closer to an answer. But on the up side, you will get to hear Borrie's poem, Friedo's horoscope and some fun new sound effects. So there's that. Of course, if you sign up for our Patreon Pit Crew your life will improve immeasurably (as will ours) because we will take the money you give us and use it to buy beer and other fun stuff. Welcome back to Tank Slappers. On this week's episode, host Dre Harrison is joined by Motorsport.com writers Oriol Puigdemont and Federico Faturos to report on all the action and news coming out of the 2025 Grand Prix of Argentina. At the front, it was almost a case of Deja Vu as Marc Marquez defeated his brother Alex in a one-on-one fight. But the trio ponders on whether Marc was at 100% of his speed in an attempt to win, or whether there could be even more potential in the tank for the Spaniard as he took his 90th Grand Win, tying him with the great Angel Nieto for third all-time in GP history. There's a chat about Francesco Bagnaia's side of the garage. The Double World Champion could only finish fourth in the race, with the rider himself admitting they're "missing something" from the feeling of the latest Ducati GP25. With the Italian 31 points behind Marquez in the standings, how concerned should be? There's also a deep dive on Ai Ogura's technical disqualification as Aprilia could only manage one bike finishing in 15th place across their weekend, and whether reigning Champion Jorge Martin may get a test before returning from his injuries, with his recovery time extended through the United States GP in a week and a half's time. Finally, there's talk about Pirelli becoming the sport's official tyre supplier from 2027 and why it may be adding to the "Monopoly" arguments in the midst of Liberty Media's attempted purchase, and whether Argentina has a future on the calendar with the sport confirming a race in neighbouring Brazil in 2026.

Marc Marquez declared his brother Alex to be his main 2025 MotoGP title rival after their battle for victory in the Argentine Grand Prix. Was he getting carried away with sibling affection or is Alex really capable of denying his big brother a first championship in six years? Simon Patterson, Val Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer debate that in the Termas de Rio Hondo episode of The Race MotoGP Podcast. Even if Alex's title challenge can't be sustained, right now he's in a better form and championship situation than Marc's works Ducati team-mate Pecco Bagnaia. We hear Bagnaia's explanation for his current lack of pace, and give our take on where he's lacking. Plus Ai Ogura's bizarre disqualification explained, Honda's progress debated after Johann Zarco's amazing weekend, fondness for the resurgent Franco Morbidelli and The Race Members' Club reminds Simon that he predicted first-lap crasher/otherwise anonymous performer Marco Bezzecchi was going to win this race (which prompts a small argument about penalties). Tank Slappers is back for the 2025 Season! Taking over the reins is Dre Harrison, alongside Autosport's Chief Motorsport Writer Ben Hunt, and Motorsport.com MotoGP reporter Oriol Puigdemont. The trio sit down to review the opening round of the 2025 MotoGP season in Buriram, Thailand at the Chang International Circuit. It was a dream debut for Marc Marquez in the Ducati red, dominating the proceedings to finishing in a 1-2 in both the Sprint and Grand Prix with his brother Alex. How impressive was Marc's performance? How concerned should Francesco Bagnaia be after only managing a pair of third places? There's also the fact that Marquez had to concede an early second-and-a-half advantage to comply with MotoGP's tyre regulation rule. A necessary evil, or bad for the show? There's also a discussion on Ai Ogura and the best debut performance in the sport since 2013 after finishing 5th in his first race with Trackhouse, the latest on Jorge Martin's broken hands, and asking if Honda and Yamaha are finally closing the gap to Ducati and Aprilia.
Marc Marquez shows off his experience and speed in the 2025 MotoGP season opener. And, in the process, looks like he did in 2019. I break down the action, surprises, and most impressive riders in Buriram, and try to figure out if Marc might actually own a Time Machine on the ThaiGP post-race show! The Rundown:- The ThaiGP! I recap the 2025 season opener- Qualifying: Morbidelli runs afoul of Simon Crafar, Pecco forced into Q1. The Marquez brothers lead the way- The Sprint: every Marquez dominates, while Pecco tries to keep up- Other Sprint riders - including an impressive rookie, manufacturers that make some headway- MotoGP Race: a winning strategy we've never seen before- Why did Marc take an unconventional path? - Pecco just tries to keep up- Morbidelli and Ogura impress, Yamaha lags behind, KTM disappoints- The Championship picture after Buriram- My take on the ThaiGP!What did you think of Thailand? It wasn't just Marc Marquez dominating the 2025 MotoGP season-opener - it was the Marquez family, as his brother Alex not only backed him up in qualifying and both races but was also allowed to lead much of the grand prix to ensure Marc dodged a likely penalty. Has that set the tone for the whole season to come? In the Thai Grand Prix episode of The Race MotoGP Podcast, Simon Patterson, Val Khorounzhiy and Matt Beer look at everything that led to the Marquez domination including Pecco Bagnaia's inability to challenge his team-mate all weekend. The quirk of his team switch that led to Marquez being at risk of a tyre penalty is explained too, along with the effect of the ferociously hot temperatures on a weekend that left many riders literally burned by their bikes. Star rookie Ai Ogura and what his performance means for Aprilia features too, and we pass judgements on weekends of both highs and lows for Honda and Yamaha, but mostly lows for KTM.
