Tim and Steve were lucky enough to jump on a call with a regular BSB, WSBK and MotoGP marshal and here it is. Mark is marshalling at every BSB event this year and has also been to both Silverstone and Assen in marshal for MotoGP. The insight he gives into this side of motorcycle racing is a fascinating glimpse into the people that we only ever see brief snippets of on the TV screen and almost never hear from! Mark was kind enough to share some articles published by a fellow marshal after the tragic events of the opening round of BSB. When Tragedy Strikes – Written in the imediate aftermath of the race weekend. Becasue It's What We Do – Written after the following round. These articles are well worth a read and deliver a fascinating view into the mind of the author, who marhsalled both of the races mentioned. And if you thought marshalling was risk free, check out this video of a crashed motorcycle coming very close to hitting the marshals! Warning: crash video but everyone (rider and marshals) was fine. If you want to try your hand at marshalling, visit the Race Safe website, where you can get more information and sign up. And finally, enjoy this chat. It was a really fun episode to record. Huge thanks to Mark for donating even more of his time to motorcycle racing and agreeing to talk to us!Thumbnail Photo Credit: Bonnie Lane Photography
