How much does strategy really matter in Formula 1? Spanners and the panel dig into where races are actually won and lost: raw car pace, driver performance, pit-wall decisions, tyre behaviour and plain old circumstance. We look at the strategy calls we love, the ones that make no sense, and where an undercut, overcut, tyre offset or Safety Car call can genuinely change a result. We also get into the Pirelli era and whether deliberately strategic tyres have made F1 more interesting or simply forced drivers to spend too much time managing rather than racing flat-out.And at the heart of it: should Formula 1 create more room for strategic divergence, or should the best car and driver simply sprint to the flag? Intelligenza Artificiale, Nvidia e infrastrutture digitaliTestate: MF-Milano FinanzaIl capitale internazionale continua a concentrarsi sulle infrastrutture legate all'Intelligenza Artificiale.

We break down the specs and current dealer inventory struggles. This episode takes a closer look at a specific unit lingering on the lot: a Rapid Red vehicle equipped with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, Pirelli tires, and Brembo brakes.

It was the fifth race of the 1991 FIA Formula One World Championship. The 69-lap race was won by Nelson Piquet, driving a Benetton-Ford. Piquet took the 23rd and final win of his F1 career after old rival Nigel Mansell, driving a Williams-Renault, suddenly stopped halfway round the last lap while leading by almost a minute. Stefano Modena took second in a Tyrrell-Honda, while Mansell's team-mate Riccardo Patrese was third, having started from pole position. Piquet's win was the first for a car using Pirelli tyres since the 1986 Mexican Grand Prix when Gerhard Berger took Benetton's first ever Grand Prix victory and the last for the famed BMW turbo. This was the last win for Pirelli as a tyre supplier in Formula One until the 2011 Australian Grand Prix. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:39 UTC on Thursday, 30 July 2026.For the full current version of the article, see 1991 Canadian Grand Prix on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Matthew.

George Russell may have converted his controversial pole into an Austrian win but it was his Mercedes team-mate, Kimi Antonelli, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who lit up the skies above Spielberg. Max, after pushing George hard in the second half of the race, drove brilliantly into P2; and Kimi, who finished third, closed quickly on both George and Max in the closing laps. It was a stunning day for Red Bull, with Isack Hadjar finishing sixth in the other RB22 and the two Racing Bulls - also powered by the RBPT Ford engine - taking the last two points positions. Ferrari disappointed after starting P2-P3, with Sir Lewis Hamilton finishing P5 and Charles Leclerc P8; and  McLaren-Mercedes could manage only a P4-P7 result.

¿Volveremos a ver buenas estrategias? This day in Spain will famously be remembered for the first Ferrari victory scored by Sir Lewis Hamilton.  And it was no gift.  After starting from the front row and splitting the two factory Mercedes in the early race phase, Lewis dramatically chose to make a second tyre change - to medium Pirellis -  at the perfect moment. His mid-race pace on the softer tyres quickly elevated him to the front when the Mercs stopped for their second set of hards - and Lewis always seemed likely to be there at the finish, despite a third pit stop that was looming.  Then fate stepped in - just as it had in Abu Dhabi, 2021, when Nicholas Latiffi's retirement brought out the Safety Car.  On this occasion, Fernando Alonso stopped his slow Aston Martin-Honda at T9; Ferrari missed an immediate pit stop but the Virtual Safety Car conditions were still current as Lewis came round again.  He emerged from the pit lane just in front of George Russell's Mercedes. Head down on slightly newer Pirelli hards, Lewis then drove away to win by the astounding margin of 19.5sec.  Kimi Antonelli passed Russell in a sensational move with six laps to go...but then stopped on track with a dead engine.  Russell thus finished second, ahead of McLaren-Mercedes' Lando Norris, Red Bull-RBPT Ford's Max Verstappen, Oscar Piastri in the other McLaren and Isack Hadjar in the second Red Bull.  Peter Windsor in this video looks back at a red-letter day in Spain - in every sense of the word. With thanks to Jetcraft, the world's largest buyer and seller of executive jets:https://jetcraft.comTo TrackNinja, a lap-timer and data app designed to help users improve their on-track car and driver performance through analysis and an innovative Data Garage. In this one, the  @ThrottleSauce  crew of Dustin, Ryan, and Mark sit down and discuss the race event which took place last weekend. This was the first round of the Golden State Championship. We're not going to recap the action on track, but more discuss what we experienced out there, some of the fun conversations with riders, parents, and of course the leadership team behind this epic event. Signs all pointed to positive in the paddock for both the org, and the sport as a whole. We're finally back in the racing season zone. World Superbikes striking first with their season opening round at the amazing Phillip Island track down in Australia. There are lots of storylines for sure, but the biggest one we can think of is Bulega and whether there's anyone that can stop him this season. Ricky-Bobby will discuss that, and all the storylines formed from the weekend, as well as maybe some other chatter regarding other championships.Hope you dig it!Get signed up for your next TrackDaz event:http://trackdaz.trackrabbit.com**Want a deal on some boxo tools? What can I say about Gray Pham? I've known him literally his entire life, and have been friends with his father Pete longer than Gray has been alive. I got to watch as Gray moved on from racing into this crazy career as a motorsports videographer. Gray has successfully used his incredible level of access and created probably the most visually stimulating documentary of our sport ever. Five minutes after walking in the door from the Taipei Cycle Show, I sat down with Mike Levy to unpack what it was like being there. We immediately dive into the wildest tech from the show floor: what a $31,000 3D-printed titanium road bike actually looks like, whether those budget power meter pedals are legit or just vaporware, and the exact physics behind Pirelli's claim that their new aero tire cuts drag without ruining rolling resistance. I also talk about the one Chinese brand I found at the show and how they've got a brand new gravel bike that's half the price of a Western company. We also get into the 32-inch wheel standard. The first suspension fork for the standard hit the market at the show, and we dig into whether this is the upgrade riders have been waiting for. It wasn't all walking trade show aisles, though. I spent a few days riding Factor's futuristic One aero road bike through the Taipei jungle, and the experience taught me how much better road culture can be. I was planning to bring that bike home for a full review and further aero testing. Instead, it stayed behind. We get into how the bike actually handles on the road, its aggressive geometry, and the ongoing mystery behind how I somehow managed to break it.

During Payson's trip to Italy last week to race The Hills, he stopped by the headquarters of his new tire sponsor, Pirelli, for a tour of the factory floor. Afterward, he sat down with Samuele Bressan, the company's Head of Global Marketing for its cycling division. They discuss why Pirelli, which is primarily known for its high-performance tires for luxury sports cars and Formula 1 racing, decided to start making gravel tires back in 2018, and how their products in that area have evolved since then. They also talk about the testing process (one of their recent tires was tested in no fewer than four wind tunnels), the importance of tire compound in gravel, and Samuele's history with freeriding and BMX. Instagram: @withpacepodcastYouTube: Payson McElveenEmail: howdy@withpace.cc
