We have all asked the question "Why Do Good Things Happen to Bad People?" In this sermon, we examine the last chapter in the book of Jonah. Jonah is angry that God has shown mercy to undeserving people. Jonah can't reconcile the Mercy of God and the Justice of God. This sermon gives us insight to why God often times causes good things to happen to bad people.

In chapter 4 we see a terrifying truth — sometimes the sins of our past have a tendency to creep back up. Even after the amazing revival in chapter 3, we see the prophet struggling with the same sin that he had in the 1st chapter. However, despite his attempts to run, God is still pursuing him. What an encouraging truth for us to rest in, that no matter what the God of the universe will still pursue us, despite our sin. Visit us online at: http://www.RenewalChurch.net

WHO IS GOD? Such a BIG and MYSTERIOUS question that humanity has always wrestled with.
How do you feel about God having mercy on your enemies and other really bad people?

When we let anger and hate find a place in our heart it will direct us towards irrational behavior, even at God, and it either exposes our true nature or causes us to defy it; ultimately hurting us as equally as the one being hated Outline: • Hate That’s Learned • Learning To Hate
Rev. Sarah Roncolato SCRIPTURE Jonah 4:1-11 SERMON “Moved to Tears” When confronted with the suffering of others, we can quickly go to the question of who's to blame and why it isn't our fault or responsibility. God's words to Jonah remind us that we are called to care for all who suffer, no matter what.

Jonah 4:1-11 with focus on versus 10-11. Jonah's journey is learning about what God cares about. God cares that we have compassion for the things HE has compassion for, i.e. people. He also cares that we are obedient to finish well.

Every good story has a good ending. The finale of the story of Jonah is open-ended which leaves us wondering, "Where's the rest?" The book ends with God asking a question of Jonah that each believer must internalize and answer for themselves. "Will you love others the way I love them? In this message, we examine how to avoid a self-centered faith.
