In this episode we explore John's use of the OT by connecting multiple dots. John uses "7" a lot: Seven Spirits, Seven Lampstands, Seven Stars, Seven Churches, Seven Torches, etc. We will break down each mention of the "sevens" and produce a clear mosaic in our minds at the end. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Sunday Worship: September 5, 2021 Preacher: Pastor Nathan Ruble
To say that the end times will be dramatic and dangerous is an understatement. The vision the Lord showed the apostle John is filled with conflict, battles, persecution, deception, judgment, rejection and more. But, as you'll discover with Pastor Steve's careful examination through the last book of the New Testament, there is great encouragement for us to persevere and overcome, and these themes are woven through the entire book. As Pastor Steve leads us through the events of the last days, you'll also witness the immensity of God's love as He continues to reach out to the lost until the end.
IN THIS PODCAST: This podcast contains a live bible study of the meaning of the items in the holy place (sanctuary) of the Tabernacle of Moses for Christians. The holy place items include the Seven Candlesticks (lampstands), the Table of Shewbread, and the Altar of Incense. Listen to hear what the three types of bread discussed mean, why the believers are the Christ the world sees, about the cleansing of our prayers, and the meaning of the Seven Lampstands (candlesticks). What we have can often get in the way of what need and risk making us ineffective for the Lord.
God does not judge churches by their size or strength, but by their faithfulness.
This past weekend Donnie Thomas talked about "Pressing On".
God's wounds are intended to lead us to repentance and repentance, in turn, leads to new life.
A Christian builds their life on the sure and true foundation of God’s Word.
A Christian is someone who is faithful to Christ even when it costs them everything.
It’s possible for a church to get their doctrine right, but most everything else wrong.
Revelation 2:12-17, 3:7-13From the sermon series "Revelation: Visions for a Church Under Pressure."
Revelation Series, Revelation 2 & 3, The seven Lampstands, Graham Thomas
Testimonial from Pastor Andy. “Drink water!”Jon introduces himself and is relaying a message from God. Identifying Him as He who was, He who is, and He who is to come. He is coming! He is Alpha and Omega. He is the faithful witness. The firstborn from among the dead. The Ruler of the kings of the earth. You are representing God to the people. This is one of your new jobs since the resurrection. When you pray you are presenting the needs of the people to God. God has appointed us as a kingdom of priests.Jesus is coming back! We must not forget. He is coming soon. Another way to look at this is that He will come quickly or suddenly. By the time He comes back it is already too late. He will return in the clouds and every eye will see Him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Because they weren’t ready. The people who see His return are the people looking for Him. Everyone else will be hiding their faces. This will certainly come to pass.A description of Jesus. “One who looked like a son of man.” Dressed in a robe reaching to His feet. He has a golden sash to symbolize his royalty. He has white hair meaning wisdom and age. Eyes blazing like fire. He can see everything. Nothing is hidden. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace. Nebuchadnezzar’s feet in his statue were made of clay and iron so they would break when hit by a stone. But the bronze feet are strong and solid. His voice was like the sound of rushing waters. Think of Niagara Falls or Victoria Falls. So loud tha there is no other sound. You can’t talk back.Out of his mouth is a double edged sword. The word of God is sharper than any two edged swords. The seven stars and the seven golden lampstands. The seven stars are the seven angels of the seven churches. Angels means messengers. The seven lampstands are the seven churches. The seven churches are Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. They are presented in the order in which you would visit them if you were walking.
We don't write letters very often these days nor do we receive them. Even rarer is a handwritten letter. In days gone by, letters were often the only form of communication available. Even Jesus saw to it that letters from Him were given to His people. In this message we take an introductory look at the letters Jesus communicated to 7 different churches and see the importance of us looking for personal instruction, correction, and encouragement in them. Listen in and prepare yourself to read letters that Jesus might write to you today.

The message in the series on the seven churches of Revelation.
Jesus Christ, the one who baptizes in the Holy Spirit, is the same one who attends to the lampstands, moving back and forth among them, filling them with oil (the Spirit), and trimming them.
