The boys are back after a week off and the Antacrtic Blast has hit Sydney just in time for Origin 1. Thankfully the NRL moved it to balmy Townsville which should give us an entertaining game. In the NRL the Panther Cubs suffered defeat for the first time in 2021. More on the horizon? The Titans blew it against the Storm and the Eels got revenge for the 2001 GF. Now we're all square. In the AFL Melbourne keep rolling on, this time beating Brisbane at Giants Stadium. St Kilda continue to missfire in front of goal. And Richmond poured it on in the last quarter to finish all over the top of Essendon in Dreamtime at Optus. In other sport the Azerbaijan GP gave us another great Formula 1 race. England keep on Englanding in cricket. The Suns disposed of the Lakers but we're just waiting to hand Brooklyn the trophy. And with EURO Cup 2020 kicking off this week, we predict the winners of each group and the winners overall. Pies likes France to beat Croatia in the Final. BS is backing Hungary with Sweden and North Macedonia as his smokies. While Erik thinks Denmark are primed to make a deep run at it. 0:00:00 - NRL 1:05:00 - AFL 1:15:00 - Motorsport 1:20:00 - EURO 2020 1:28:00 - Cricket 1:32:00 - NBA Playoffs Part of the No Phony Podcast Network nophonynetwork.com Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @brendansmith05 Josh - @PiesJosh Colbee - @colbee6ref Hammer - @notbatting11 Mendy - @BigMendy180 Maybo - @maybo83 Erik - @ErikNielsen2759 No Phony Network - @NoPhonyNetwork Email - batsandballspodcast@gmail.com facebook.com/batsandballspodcast http://batsandballspodcast.com/
Today they discus the importance of healing foods. Paula for once isn’t making up things as she goes and finally discusses something she actually knows about. While Erik finally admits that maybe his old diet of pizza and chicken fingers want such a good idea, after all.

While Erik is by no means a Baroque music specialist, he shares his general approach to playing Bach. Afterwards, he amps up the excitement and delves into the controversy over whether one must always approach Baroque and Classical trills from the upper neighbor. BRACE YOURSELF! While Erik's voice goes rogue (again) and Ben recounts his least favorite book of all time, the bearded bros discuss the backsummaradvert of Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens.
While Erik loses his cool over a particular country superstar (for no apparent reason), Ben keeps the discussion going about Endurance: Shackleton's Incredible Voyage by Alfred Lansing.
While Erik doesn't stop talking about movies he's seen and Ben blurts inexplicit swear words, the bearded bros take a trip into the future (or is it...?) with Machines Like Me by Ian McEwan.
While Erik was in China at his Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) conference, he learned a very important concept from the keynote speaker. Erik learned that over time, a lot of companies will continually innovate. This innovation allows for other companies to come in and swoop up business because they can satisfy those consumer needs at a lower cost (since they are not wasting as much money and time on innovation.) That got Erik thinking about Array Digital. Today on Journey to $100 Million, listen in as Erik explains why we decided to get rid of a specific service here at Array Digital. There was one innovative service we offered that took us a tremendous amount of time, had a relatively high cost associated with it, and was not immensely important to our clients. We realized we did not want to innovate past what our clients wanted. Our goal should be to always focus on what our customers want, what we do best, and execute it tremendously. Want to know what service we realized we no longer needed? Listen in on today's episode! — Erik Olson is an award-winning digital marketer & entrepreneur. The Founder & CEO of Array Digital, he is also the host of the Journey to $100 Million Flash Briefing and daily podcast, and the organizer of the Marketers Anonymous monthly meetups. — Kevin Daisey is an award-winning digital marketer & entrepreneur. He started his first company when he was just 23, and is the Founder & CMO of Array Digital. Kevin is the also the co-host of the Journey to $100 Million Flash Briefing and daily podcast, and the co-organizer of the Marketers Anonymous monthly meetups.
While Erik and Kevin were standing in line for the bathroom on a plane ride to Orlando, an unexpected situation hit them by surprise. A random woman asked them about their Array Digital t-shirts, and from there an opportunity had risen. This woman happened to be a sales representative from Orlando in the billboard industry - and a great resource to potentially have. On today's episode of Journey to $100 Million, listen in as Erik describes this situation he found himself in, and how he conquered it! As you may know, we are continually expanding to Orlando, and are trying to find individuals to help us grow our connections in the region. This woman ended up being a great connection, all stemming from a random conversation! Want to hear more about this story? More interesting and thought-provoking discussions on BEHIND THE LENS this episode with three very talented directors as each brings issues of human nature to the forefront through film. JAMIELYNN LIPPMAN and MICHAEL GREENE are live, while we've got a prerecorded interview with SARA COLANGELO. First up this week is part of our prerecorded interview with writer/director SARA COLANGELO talking about her latest film, THE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and newcomer Parker Sevak. Adapted from a screenplay and film by Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid, Sara explores the psychological complexity of a kindergarten teacher and her obsession with a seemingly prodigal student named Jimmy. Questions of moral and ethical ambiguity arise and Colangelo digs deep with indelible performances, emotional depth and a distinctive visual palette. Then, MICHAEL GREENE joins us live talking about his new film, LIVE. Last week actor Asante Jones was on hand talking about working with Michael, his acting process, and the cautionary tale told with LIVE. This week, Michael talks about the film from the point of view as writer and director, the challenges of getting the film made, finding tone, casting, and other elements of the process. Rounding out this episode of #BTLRadioShow is writer/director JAMIELYN LIPPMAN who returns to BTL this year with her latest documentary - 3 YEARS IN PAKISTAN: THE ERIK AUDE STORY. Erik's story made the news more than 14 years ago when he was arrested and held prisoner in a Pakistani prison accused of a crime he didn't commit - drug trafficking. An up and coming actor and stuntman, Erik's life was put on hold - and almost ended as he was on death row - before those working in the United States to secure his release were finally successful, with Erik retaining his own integrity by not making a deal to cop a plea and confess. While Erik's story was told in 2010 by the Nat Geo show "Locked Up Abroad", there was much that wasn't covered. Calling on her own friendship with Erik, Jamielyn felt it important to dig deeper, provide more context and explore the man Erik was and who he has since become. A 2 1/2 year process in which interviews were obtained (and in some cases, refused), dramatic recreations were conceived and shot, and a lengthy editing process, Jamielyn talks about it all. http://behindthelensonline.net http://eliasentertainmentnetwork.com

Over 6 years of developing and building a owner finance real estate investment company. Starting from scratch he has figured out the best way to create and sell real estate notes. He currently "flips” 75+ houses and notes a year and are shooting for 100. He’s been in real estate for over 15 years and have done a little bit of every kind of investing. His passion is in the creation of real estate notes because it affects the most people. You are helping the seller by buying their house. Then the neighborhood by rehabbing it. The buyer by offering owner finance and the investor by creating a good quality real estate note. Erik was on episode 27 where we talked about Finding and Working with the “Right” Contractors Erik is on track to do 100 deals this year. Obviously, to do a 100 deals in a year, you’ve got to be good at marketing for motivated seller leads. While Erik does do direct mail to find motivated sellers, he also uses other methods. Today we talk about those other methods. We focus today’s episode on using bandit signs. Disclaimer: Check with your local city offices to make sure it’s legal for you to put signs out. They are illegal in a lot of places. He shares a great tip on getting 4x8 sheets of corrugated plastic that he cuts down into bandit signs that have odd shapes. These signs grab much more attention than printed signs. He then writes on them with giant markers. This is the way to go to get maximum benefit out of bandit signs. The next thing we talk about is using newspaper ads to generate motivated seller leads. While print newspapers are dying and don’t get the readership they used to, you can still get ads displayed in them and online as most have a website now. The great thing about online newspaper classifieds is that you can now have your ad show to visitors that might not even go into the classified section of the newspaper. There are a lot of possibilities here and not a lot of competition. We also talk about using Facebook to target the exact demographics of people investors normally buy from. This varies greatly by area and also by investor, so it’s more up to you to determine which demographics you should target. Facebook is just another medium to have your message displayed in front of people that might need your services. Why not take advantage of the power of Facebook ads to generate motivated sellers leads for your real estate investing business?
While Erik's away for the summer, CT from Nerd Lunch sits in with the gang as the first of several guests for the upcoming months. We're also down a Mark, but Dave leads the rest of us in a discussion of hobbits, hackers, and highways. Tis was a tough connection to guess, so sit down with some pipeweed or a cookie and see if you can figure it out. Just don't touch that cigarette lighter.
The Amateur Traveler talks to Erik Smith about his home state of Michigan. Erik has been on the show twice before talking about National Parks but this time he tells us about the beautiful state of Michigan. While Erik is from the Detroit area and describes some of its museums and other attractions what he really recommends is the west coast of Michigan with its sand dunes and sunsets, Traverse City with its boating, and the wilderness of the Upper Peninsula. He does manage to work some national parks (Sleeping Bear Dunes, Pictured Rocks and Isle Royale) and state parks into the conversation. We also talk about the European-style of Ann Arbor, the quirks of John Harvey Kellogg and the unusual location of Edison’s New Jersey lab (moved by Henry Ford to Michigan).
