How long could you sit in your workplace break room doing absolutely nothing before somebody noticed? An hour? Maybe two? Well, one former police lieutenant apparently decided to push that experiment all the way to NINE HOURS, and naturally The Rizzuto Show has nothing but questions, admiration and several concerns about the safety of the station coffee.Welcome to another comedy podcast from The Rizzuto Show, where we begin with the story of a veteran Burlington police lieutenant accused of spending massive chunks of his shifts sitting in the break room instead of, you know… police-ing. Texas doesn't always cool off when the sun goes down, so if you're staring at the same four walls and thinking there's “nothing to do,” we've got a better plan: point the car toward a drive-in movie and let the night do the rest. We talk about why drive-in theaters still feel special, from the simple fun of loading up a car with friends to that moment when the sky gets dark and the first feature finally starts. We put five Texas drive-in theaters on our road trip list, starting with the Galaxy Drive-In in Ennis, a multi-screen spot just south of Dallas that mixes current movies with the occasional classic. During the Cold War, British soldiers fought a Provisional IRA insurgency in Northern Ireland. Probably the toughest location was South Armagh, where they had to travel by helicopter, while watchtowers scanned the fields, and an IRA sniper could strike without warning.
