The Producer is wrapped in cotton wool and plaster so he should make it through the full episode. We're back to cover all the sport. In the NFL it's a funny season. Are the Chiefs back? It's too early to tell but signs are good. The Rams are in a hole and the Pats could be the best team going round. In Soccer we've got the International weekend and World Cup Qualifiers. By the time you listen to this Australia will have played China in Sharjah. EPL is back this week and we give out tips. Arsenal have gone from the cellar to the hottest team in football in the space of 2 months. Australia beat New Zealand comfortably in the T20 World Cup Final in Dubai. New Zealand have played the final of all three forms of the game in the last couple of years taking out the test championship but losing both forms of limited overs finals. Our friend Erik may have coined the phrase DSC So Big. SVG is close to wrapping up the Supercars title with one more round at Eastern Creek before Bathurst. And in the F1 Lewis Hamilton kept the title alive with a stunning victory in Brazil. Meanwhile in other sport, Pies is loving the NBA season because it actually looks like Basketball again. Josh Giddey and Patty Mills are doing some good things too. Australia and England are heading to Brisbane to prepare for The Ashes. A preview will be out shortly. And we finsih off with The Producer's plans to fix the lopsided NRL draw. 0:00:00 - NFL 0:17:00 - FIFA WCQ 0:32:00 - EPL 0:38:00 - T20 World Cup 0:49:00 - Supercars 0:54:00 - Formula 1 1:00:00 - NBA, Marathon Running, Ashes, Fixing the NRL Part of the Always Up Network Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @The Producer05 Josh - @PiesJosh Colbee - @colbee6ref Hammer - @notbatting11 Mendy - @BigMendy180 Maybo - @maybo83 Erik - @ErikNielsen2759 Always Up Network - @AlwaysUpNetwork #AUN Email -

It's been a long time. But Pies is back in the Bats and Balls Studio with The Producer. After a short catch up we're back into the sports. In the NFL Arizona look unstoppable at the moment. There's a few other NFC teams nipping at their heels though. In the AFC no team has fewer than 2 losses which makes for a competitive conference. In the EPL Liverpool won the one fixture the fans look forward to every season. A 5-0 drubbing of Manchester United at Old Trafford no less. Mo Salah is the best player in the world right now. But Liverpool may still only be the third best team in the Premier League the way Chelsea and Manchester City are playing. It's gonna be a fascinating run to the title with these three special teams. Brighton fell to City and face the Reds this week which may see them finally drop out of the European positions. The T20 World Cup is under way. Australia won their first match., But Pakistan have been the surprise packets beating India and New Zealand. Batting coach Matt Hayden has them firing. State of Rest won the Cox Plate despite severely hampering 3yo Anamoe in the run to the post. Craig Williams looked confident waiting for the result but it wasn't to be. The question has to be if that was a midweek at Moe, do they uphold the protest. And the answer is yes. In other races Forgot You won the Vase and is headed for the Derby. But connections unfortunately won't be sending the 3yo to the Melbourne Cup. Keep an eye out for our Derby Day tips and our annual Melbourne Cup show. In other sport Max Verstappen held off Lewis Hamilton in the US Grand Prix while Supercars are back at Eastern Creek for the next 4 weeks straight. The NBA tipped off last week and the Chicago Bulls lead the standings with the Lakers slowly finding their groove. Golden State are out in front of the West. 0:11:00 - NFL 0:24:00 - EPL 0:37:00 - T20 World Cup 0:51:00 - Horse Racing 1:16:00 - Motorsport & NBA Part of the Always Up Network Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @The Producer05 Josh - @PiesJosh Colbee - @colbee6ref Hammer - @notbatting11 Mendy - @BigMendy180 Maybo - @maybo83 Erik - @ErikNielsen2759 Always Up Network - @AlwaysUpNetwork #AUN Email -

The Producer can't work out why Referees get tagged at pedantic when players constantly break rules. Former West Tigers player Benji Marshall has retired and the Tigers have changed their logo and Erik gives his opinion. Brighton keep on getting points in the EPL and sit 6th going into International Break. Liverpool and Man City had a draw and only 2pts separate the top 6 teams. International Break means World Cup Qualifiers. Can Demark and Australia get one step closer to locking in their place in the World Cup? In the NFL the Bucks got the win over the Patriots in the Tom Brady Cup. The Cardinals are on fire as the only undefeated team and destroyed the Rams. While the Giants got their first win of the season. Can they make a run to the playoffs? The Bats and Balls Podcast team has started doing weekly Horse Racing Tips. After substandard performances Pies and The Producer keep getting selected for the big games. It's almost like they're mates with the people running the podcast. In the NRL Manly were far too good for a depleted Sydney Roosters. While in the other game Penrith held on against a brave Parramatta. In the AFL it all boils down to this. Apart from a shaky end to the season for the Dogs, Melbourne and Western Bulldogs have been the benchmark all season. In a season of turmoil, moving house at short notice, lockdowns, quarantines and footy, these two teams deserve to be there on that twilight evening in September... in Perth. Tottenham haven't got a point since Pies refrained from cursing them with #PiesKnows. Even the whiff of contention is enough to turn Spurs to water. F1 is back this week in Russia. While in cricket, former St Clair Hawk Hannah Darlington starred in her first ODI for Australia vs India. And Mitch Marsh has made another bid to be recalled to the Australian ODI mens team. 0:00:00 - NRL Finals 0:51:00 - AFL Grand Final 1:04:00 - EPL 1:19:00 - NFL 1:25:00 - Motorsport & Cricket Part of the No Phony Podcast Network Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @The Producer05 Josh - @PiesJosh Colbee - @colbee6ref Hammer - @notbatting11 Mendy - @BigMendy180 Maybo - @maybo83 Erik - @ErikNielsen2759 No Phony Network - @NoPhonyNetwork Email -

The Producer is on the man shakes and Pies ran a half marathon. We're pumped for another week of finals footy. In the NRL all eyes were on the Panthers and Rabbitohs after a war of words between the coaches and it didn't disappoint. Wayne won the battle. Can Ivan get his troops back up to win the war? The Roosters got out of jail against the Titans and the Eels did enough to see another week. It had been staring us in the face the whole time. Forget ladder positions. Melbourne and Western Bulldogs had been the best sides in the AFL for most of the year. That they won their Prelims was no surprise. But the manner in which they did it showed just how powerful both teams are. It'll be a fitting Grand Final in two weeks time. Plus we rattle home with some EPL, NFL and Daniel Ricciardo's first win for McLaren. In the middle of a global pandemic it's amazing that the Tokyo 2020 organising committee could get a games going at all. That they could bring the athletes of the world to Japan and get them to compete with no socialising, in front of no crowds, at such a high level is nothing short of a miracle. Australia equalled its best gold medal count with 17. Thanks largely to the women's swim team. While aquatic sports in general won 15 of the 17 gold for Australia. Aussies tore up the track and field events with three medals. And the Boomers won their first ever medal after so many heartbreaking moments over the years. Penrith's own Jess Fox won a gold and a bronze in the whitewater canoeing and Penrith born Melissa Wu won a bronze in diving which is almost as good as gold given the two Chinese divers were out of this world. Internationally there were some amazing performances. Karsten Warholm burning up the 400m hurdles track sits atop the mountain. But Eliud Kipchoge going back to back in the marathon, Katie Ledecky winning the distance double, Marcell Jacobs winning the first 100m track title for Italy and the 4-way battle for the men's 1500m freestyle were all great moments. All the hurdles, the Covid tests, the masks, the awarding teammates medals, the friendly TV time zone, and the world class performances made Tokyo 2020 one of the most satisfying Olympics in memory. 0:00:00 - Introduction 0:07:30 - Swimming 0:24:00 - Athletics 0:43:50 - Cycling 0:58:40 - Kayak & Canoe 1:07:00 - Basketball 1:16:00 - Football 1:19:00 - Other Sports 1:26:00 - Favourite Moments Part of the No Phony Podcast Network Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @The Producer05 Josh - @PiesJosh Colbee - @colbee6ref Hammer - @notbatting11 Mendy - @BigMendy180 Maybo - @maybo83 Erik - @ErikNielsen2759 No Phony Network - @NoPhonyNetwork Email -

And they've been doing it without two of their best players. The AFL is throwing up strange results every week. And this was no exception. Richmond beat Brisbane, but with Dusty Martin out for the season is their dynasty finally over? And the Melbourne Western Bulldogs clash this week should be a belter. Supercars raced around Townsville again on the weekend. Where to now for a sport that doesn't have a lot of available tracks right now? Oran Park and Lakeside are no longer options. In the F1 Hamilton dive bombed Verstappen. We're not the British media so we won't defend Hamilton on this one. And then it's the Olympic preview. We run through a few of the events we're really looking forward to. Race Climbing seems to have captured the imagination of the whole team. The Basketball should be one of the most competitive on record. And Pies has found a couple of events that could bring about a world record. We finish off with some darts, NBA Finals and Tour de France talk. It's a big show. F1 at Silverstone this weekend. Italy beat England in the Euro Cup Final. Milwaukee have tied the NBA Finals with the 4 games going to the home side. Phoenix head home for the weekend and Pies needs them to lift. And in the Tour de France Tadej Pogacar is dominating in the mountains and Mark Cavendish has been flying in the sprints. After a few crashes in the first week. Lament what might have been after those early rounds of the Super Rugby and look toward a brighter future for Australian Rugby. Shaun McMeeken joins us for the first time. Shaun is a Carlton Blues fan, which makes two in a month. We talk about a difficult AFL Draft year in which the Victorian kids barely played and a lot more stock was placed in recruits that we actually saw play this year. Not for the first time this year, the NRL have outdone themselves with their rule changes for 2021. Not only have they introduced a 2 point field goal, but in a revolutionary move, referees will be expected to actually police rules that were already in the rule book! Mendy joins Pies and The Producer in studio. We haven't talked darts in a while so it's back. Who are the best going around at the moment? Is there a dearth of talent at the top? Plus Mendy has been keeping up to date with the surfing from Hawaii and is poised to tackle the Dakar Rally. The Olympic Games have included Break Dancing to the schedule for Paris 2028. And Pies is not happy. The Wallabies had another draw with Argentina. In the cricket, Australia and India split the 6 limited overs matches with India taking out the Dettol T20 Series 2-1. Hardik Pandya hit some long bombs and Glenn Maxwell has been in good form for Australia. But how good are the bowlers really? All of a sudden the NFC East is looking decent with wins away for the Giants and Washington. Can they keep up the form this week? Plus the Rams moved into first place courtesy of the Seattle loss to NY. In the Premier League, crowds were welcomed back but nothing has changed at the top with Tottenham continuing to dominate. Son and Kane bagged a couple of scintillating goals against Arsenal. Meanwhile Manchester City and United are lurking just outside the top 4. All that and more from the newly streamlined Bats and Balls Podcast. 0:00:00 - Darts, Surfing, Motorsport 0:15:00 - Olympic Breakdancing & Speed Climbing 0:33:00 - Rugby 0:36:00 - Cricket 1:01:00 - NFL 1:10:00 - Soccer Part of the No Phony Podcast Network Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @brendansmith05 Josh - @PiesJosh Mendy - @BigMendy180 No Phony Network - @NoPhonyNetwork Email -

Pies and The Producer are in studio to talk about the week in sport. In Cricket, Australia won the first two ODI vs India putting on huge scores that the Indians couldn't run down. Then in the third game in Canberra, India passed 300 and Australia fell just short. Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell have been in some pretty hot form with the bat, and for India Hardik Pandya is in career best ODI form. In the WBBL Sydney Thunder came from third to claim the title after restricting Brisbane Heat in the Semi Final and then demolishing Melbourne Stars in the Final. If they held all their catches the score would have been even more embarrassing for the Stars. The NFL rolls on with the 49ers beating Brendan's Rams. And the Giants are on a winning streak to take top spot in the NFC East. Meanwhile Denver started a backup WR at QB after their whole QB staff went down with Covid-19. In the Premier League, noone wants to win it. Liverpool and Tottenham were held to draws while Manchester City with a game in hand all of a sudden are back in the picture. Pies has been all over the NBA Draft and Free Agency period. He picks his two big winners and makes some bold statements. How high can the Phoenix Suns go? Then we rattle home with some other sports including Rugby, Supercars, F1 and Tennis. 0:00:00 - Cricket 0:28:00 - NFL 0:34:00 - Soccer 0:38:00 - NBA Draft & Free Agency 1:08:00 - Other Sports Part of the No Phony Podcast Network Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @brendansmith05 Josh - @PiesJosh Swainy - @swainy7 No Phony Network - @NoPhonyNetwork Email -

Pies and The Producer in studio this week with a couple of calls via mobile telephone. Swainy kicks off the show with Rugby. Swainy was the caller for the epic Argentina win over the All Blacks. Plus we recap the Wallabies draw with the Pumas. And we look ahead to an exciting last two weeks of the Tri Nations. Then we recap a disappointing State of Origin series for NSW. Freddy Fittler was clearly outcoached by Wayne Bennett. But does it run deeper than that? Is Cleary the half to lead them? Are the forwards that good? And how good was it to see DCE lift the trophy?! Tottenham are gonna win the Premier League. Australia and India kick off their Summer of Cricket this Friday with the ODI series. Then we get into the T20 and Test series. It could be a cracking Summer. Just as we were preparing to call it an early night we get a first time call from Jason. Pies and Jason travelled South East Asia together 23 years ago and played an International Australian Rules game for Malaysia in Jakarta. Pies and The Producer in studio with a bumper, but yet streamlined show. We've been out of action for a couple of weeks after The Producer had a COVID-19 scare. In reality, he had one too many trips to Guzman y Gomez. We catch up on the eliminated NRL teams. Where did it go wrong for the Eels, Raiders and Rabbitohs. And why do the Roosters continue to be such a shit club? Then we preview the NRL Grand Final and pick a winner between the Panthers and Storm. The AFL has been barely watchable for one of the team. But it's still going and we lament the departures of the eliminated teams and preview Geelong vs Richmond AFL Grand Final. Swainy is back to review the two tests between the Wallabies and All Blacks in New Zealand. Australia secured a famous draw in Wellington and could well have won the game. And then the All Blacks did what the All Blacks do at Eden Park. Plus we take a look at the Shute Shield ahead of the Elimination Finals this week at Pittwater Park. Erik is on the line to talk about the MLB Playoffs and the upcoming World Series between Texas' own LA Dodgers and the Tampa Bay Rays. Tampa quietly going about becoming Title Town USA. Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander won the Bathurst 1000. BS was uncontrollable at Mendy's barbecue Sunday afternoon. It's been a long time coming but the Giz has finally scaled The Mountain. Scott McLaughlin won the driver's championship and celebrated in style tearing up the victory lap in what could be a farewell to Australian racing as he takes up a drive in IndyCar next week. And BS had a great day on the punt so we talk a little horse racing after Caulfield Cup and Everest Day. The great man Macho Man, coach of the DWS Fleshpuppets is in studio for the first time. You might remember him from his innuendo laden Supercoach rants. But the Fleshpuppet is so much more. He's also a mad Raiders fan. And he is hoping for a fairytale revenge for the 1991 Grand Final loss to Penrith. Also joining us is Hunter. Wearing his 1991 Dah Dah Uniforms Retro jersey for good measure. We recap the last round of the NRL before tipping the first week of NRL Finals. We gaze into the crystal ball and tip the first week of AFL Finals. Can Brisbane recover from going out in straight sets last season? Can Port continue their golden run? Macho Man's 49ers gave Pies' Giants a Football lesson in Week 3 of the NFL. And The Producer's Rams nearly came from a mile back to snatch victory. In the Premier League Hunter's Everton have started the season on fire, Manchester City were blown off the park by Leicester City and there's more penalty controversy. NBA Finals tip off this week. It's a four man weave this week as The Producer and Pies are joined by Erik and Mendy to discuss all the sports that are in addition to our core range. Major League Baseball is close to the playoff stage. Erik breaks down the structure of the playoffs and where the series will be played. We've got California Bubbles and Texas Bubbles. And a surprise host of the World Series. Australia concluded the T20 & ODI tour of England winning the ODI series 2-1 after going down 1-2 in the T20 matches. Both series were a case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Plus we have a very cursory glance at the upcoming tests with Afghanistan and India supposedly touring this Summer. More bubbles and quarantine in play, and a test series less than 24 months removed from the last in Australia. The NFL kicked off and has had two weeks of action. Tom Brady and the Bucs are taking a little while to acquaint themselves. While the NFC West looks like a murderer's row of the NFL. NBA Conference Finals are under way. Boston vs Miami and LA Lakers vs Denver. Both series are intriguing considering the Disney Bubble has been in effect for a couple of months now. Who can hold on to take out the title? Tadej Pogacar won the Tour de France after a scintillating Time Trial. Fellow Slovenian Primoz Roglic led going into the penultimate stage but lost 2 minutes on the time trial. Richie Porte fulfilled his wife's wish and he finished on the podium. Pies has backed a winner in the Horse Racing. It might be too late to find some value but follow along with Rothfire's Spring, Plus there's heaps of motorsport to cover. F1, Supercars, MotoGP, Superbikes, NASCAR and World Rally. Mendy has been watching it all. Finally we whip around the world of sport with some Darts, US Open Golf, NHL, Super Netball, Tennis and UFC. It's a bumper edition of the extra sports we watch. We're back for another week of sporting action and after the weekend of Rugby we had to give Swainy top billing. Melbourne Rebels clinched their first Super Rugby AU finals appearance with a last gasp try against the brave Western Force. That was followed by a ball tearer of a contest and another last ditch try in the New Zealand North vs South Game. In the NRL Penrith extended their winning streak to 12 with victory over the Broncos. SBW returned to the Roosters and in Pies opinion, they can have him. The Producer thinks Kalyn Ponga is unfairly targeted. And the Eels are back in the winners circle. The AFL Festival of Footy 2 keeps rolling on. We try and stay abreast of what's happening. Geelong and Port Adelaide keep winning. And Melbourne have severely affected their finals hopes in the last week. Motorsport and the Italian Grand Prix was a win for exciting racing with plenty of lead changes. Actual safety cars and strategy were back in vogue and it was Pierre Gasly winning his first F1 race. In the Supercars it was a similar situation where safety cars and tyre selection were vitally important. Plus the NBA Playoffs are hotting up, and the EPL and NFL seasons are back next weekend. 0:00:00 - Rugby 0:35:00 - NRL 1:18:00 - Supercoach 1:24:00 - AFL 1:38:00 - Motorsport 1:53:00 - NBA, EPL, NFL Part of the No Phony Podcast Network Twitter - @batsandballspod Brendan - @brendansmith05 Josh - @PiesJosh Swainy - @swainy7 Colbee - @colbee6ref Erik - @ErikNielsen2759 Zac - @BigZacko Mendy - @BigMendy180 No Phony Network - @phonyno Email -

Pies recounts his experience at the Yak Hunters Kayak Fishing Series Round 3 at Woy Woy. Then we're into the NRL recap and tips. Penrith continue to fire. While the Parramatta bubble has well and truly burst. Can they even beat the Warriors without George Jennings and Daniel Alvaro? Swainy is back as we near the pointy end of the Suiper Rugby AU competition. It's been really competitive rugby from the Aussie sides and this week should be no different. Can the Western Force spring an upset and keep the Waratahs season alive? Plus there's heaps going in the Shute Shield and the North vs South game from New Zealand should be a belter also. The AFL Festival of Footy 2 is under way. There's pretty much footy every day for another two weeks. How can anyone keep up?
