El jueves, 21 de noviembre, el Departamento de Educación de Oregón publicó los resúmenes de los perfiles escolares y del distrito para el año escolar 2023-2024. Esta publicación está diseñada para proporcionar un conjunto consistente de datos a nivel de escuela y de distrito para las comunidades locales. Contiene datos de evaluaciones previamente publicados correspondientes al año escolar pasado, datos de graduación previamente publicados para la Clase de 2023 y algunos datos nuevos para el año escolar 2023-24. Debido a que el estado utiliza fuentes de datos y métodos de cálculo consistentes para todas las escuelas y los distritos, sus informes son útiles para fines de comparación, tanto entre las escuelas y los distritos como dentro de las entidades individuales, año tras año. On Thursday, November 21, the Oregon Department of Education released At-A-Glance School and District Profiles for the 2023-24 school year. The Profiles are designed to provide a consistent set of school and district level information to local communities. They contain previously released assessment data for last school year, previously released graduation data for the class of 2023, and some new data for the 2023-24 school year.  Because the state uses consistent sources of data and calculation methods for all schools and districts, its reports are useful for comparison purposes - both between schools and districts and within individual entities on a year-over-year basis. However, data on statewide standardized assessment results in English Language Arts and Mathematics tell a bit of a misleading story of our students' knowledge and skills.  A number of students opt out of these tests, and because they are not used for placement, grade promotion, or for any other success measure in school, we have seen students and families place far less importance on them in recent years. For this reason, we have identified other measures for determining students' growth and learning on a rolling basis and are using that data to track progress toward our Strategic Plan goals. For example, we are using HSD-administered assessments called Running Records to measure proficiency in English and/or Spanish reading.  You can find the District's and each school's At-A-Glance Profile in the Accountability section of our website. Century teacher Zach Ross remarked: “The students put in four hours of very hard work and we achieved so much! We wouldn't have been able to do it without them.
