In the years I've been writing this podcast, I've learnt alonement is just about practical considerations as it is about the emotional ones. Penny's work is a testament to that philosophy. Her work is centred around creating the time and space for alone time, even in the most challenging of circumstances - a challenge she herself navigates every day as the mother of a disabled child.Penny is a one-of-a-kind thinker and a brilliant interviewee, and I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed recording. Being in your character's body as well as their mind isn't always first-draft territory. For many writers, it's easier to begin in an internal monologue, lost in thoughts and feelings which can then be frustrating to pin down to their causes: the triggers in the physical world for each thought, each feeling. The good news? It looks scary from the outside but, inside, that's where the greatest fun is. Dr Rachel Knightley celebrates natural time and taking space in our own narratives.

Why do some processes—like aging, birth, and car crashes—occur in only one direction in time, when by the fundamental symmetry of the universe, we should experience time both forward and backward? Our dominant perception of time owes more to Western history and social order than to a fact of nature, argues writer Rasheedah Phillips, delving into Black and Afrodiasporic conceptions of time, where the past, present, and future interact in more numerous constellations. Phillips unfolds the history of time and its legacy of racial oppression, from colonial exploration and the plantation system to the establishment of Daylight Savings. Yet Black communities have long subverted space-time through such tools of resistance as Juneteenth, tenant organizing, ritual, and time travel. What could Black liberation look like if the past were as changeable as the future? Drawing on philosophy, archival research, quantum physics, and Phillips's own art practice and work on housing policy, Dismantling the Master's Clock: On Race, Space, and Time (AK Press, 2025) expands the horizons of what can be imagined and, ultimately, achieved. Rasheedah Phillips is a queer housing advocate, lawyer, parent, and interdisciplinary artist working through a Black futurist lens. Phillips is the founder of the AfroFuturist Affair, founding member of the Metropolarity Queer Speculative Fiction Collective, and co-creator of the art duo Black Quantum Futurism. Do hear HG Gaurmandal Das, Vice-President Hare Krishna Movement- Mumbai giving lecture on Srimad Bhagavatam. Human society, at the present moment, is not in the darkness of oblivion. It has made rapid progress in the field of material comforts, education and economic development throughout the entire world. But there is a pinprick somewhere in the social body at large, and therefore there are large-scale quarrels, even over less important issues. There is need of a clue as to how humanity can become one in peace, friendship and prosperity with a common cause. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam will fill this need, for it is a cultural presentation for the re-spiritualization of the entire human society. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam should be introduced also in the schools and colleges, for it is recommended by the great student-devotee Prahlāda Mahārāja in order to change the demoniac face of society. 373 Making Space and Time To Truly Enjoy Life In life we will often be distracted with things we feel like we have to do: Go to University, get a normal job from 9-5, participate in every extra curricular activity that is presented to us, and in doing so we fail to take into account what we need. We need community, we need to experience the beauty of the world we live in, we need to live not just survive.  In today's episode Sarah Elkins and Joyce Perrin discuss the many adventures they both have lived through and the lessons they learned on their journeys.    Highlights Even across the generations, across cultures, across the globe, we are far more similar than we think. Choosing to create, contribute, and belong in community. When consumed with activity, you will not know how to be at peace and love the world you share with others.  Savor the moments of teaching, do not rush it, you never know how much time you have left.    Quotes “It's not how much you have, it's how much you share and give that really defines you.” “I think these kinds of skills, and giving the children responsibility is a good thing. But what I'm seeing happen is the children are so busy with all their curricular activities plus their homework they have to do, they have very little time to do anything else.”    Dear Listeners it is now your turn, No matter what age you are right now, what is something that you are willing to do that you haven't done before? What's something that's been an itch for you that you haven't been able to scratch? Because now is the time. Don't wait any longer. Don't face regret in your future. If we're going to have the same conversation a year from now and you're going to regret the same things you regret now, then something needs to change.    And, as always, thank you for listening.      About Joyce Joyce Perrin's early fascination with the 1950s Lands and Peoples book series sparked a lifelong curiosity about different countries and cultures. When she represented Canada at an international Girl Guide camp at age 17 and met her role model, Lady Baden-Powell, Baden-Powell's quote, “Happiness comes not from what we have but from what we give and what we share,” became her guiding light. Her nursing career led her into hospital administration and consulting. Still, a life change prompted her to pack up all her belongings at age 57 and embark on a solo global journey across 187 countries and territories. After many years of amazing adventures, she settled in Panama, where she co-founded the Panama Hospice and Respite Foundation. Returning to Canada at age 80, despite several health challenges, including blindness in one eye and breast cancer, Joyce published her book Ants in My Pants: One Woman's Unexpected Adventures Across Seven Continents. Now 88, she resides in Pickering, just east of Toronto, and finds purpose in supporting fellow cancer survivors, volunteering with health teams and encouraging people, through her book and speaking engagements, to pursue their passions, no matter their age. Be sure to check out Joyce's LinkedIn and Facebook! As well as her Website! About Sarah "Uncovering the right stories for the right audiences so executives, leaders, public speakers, and job seekers can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision." In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. The audiobook, Your Stories Don't Define You, How You Tell Them Will is now available! Included with your purchase are two bonus tracks, songs recorded by Sarah's band, Spare Change, in her living room in Montana. Be sure to check out the Storytelling For Professionals Course as well to make sure you nail that next interview!

But what is "Elphame"--is it a kind of pagan paradise between Heaven and Hell, an interdimensional space under the sidhe (mounds) of Ireland, or a beautiful illusion created by fairy beings--or something else? And what do we mean by the term "fairy"? We look at the appearance of the term Queen of Elphame in witch trial documents, in poetry, and its use by imaginative historians of paganism. We do take a little bit of a side turn into witchcraft history and the confusions created by Robert Graves, who is responsible for our common associations with the name.

This week, we're watching the docudrama An Adventure In Space And Time, made in 2013 for the 50th anniversary, that tells the story of the creation of Doctor Who. Before the junkyard, the police box, and the teachers, there was simply a Canadian TV exec, an iconic "pushy Jewish bird", a queer pioneer, and a grumpy older actor, who came together to create TV history...We celebrate the phenomenal stories of William Harnell and Verity Lambert, hail queen Jean Marsh, and cast a critical eye on the most vital part of the whole shebang - the wigs. Today, the Spotlight shines On returning guest, the innovative musician and composer Markus Reuter.Markus originally joined us for Episode 130 back in November 2022. He joins us now to discuss his project Sea of Hopeless Angels (Unsung Records), which began as several unedited studio solo improvisations by Markus on his electric touch guitar. Those recordings were turned over to mixer Stefano Castagna, whose sonic wizardry included not only mixing but fully collaborating with the recordings, adding new sounds and instruments as inspiration struck, including his own voice, various samples, bass, synthesizers, and other electronics. There are other inspirations at work in this project, but we will leave those to be revealed in the course of our discussion. It is important to mention the final collaborator for Sea of Hopeless Angels, though, and that is Aldo Grazzi, an Italian painter and video artist, who, back in the early 1980s, made visual experimentations interfacing a video camera with a cathode ray TV screen. The resulting video retains every imperfection of what was then state-of-the-art technology. All of the pieces on Sea of Hopeless Angels feature video accompaniment drawn from these videos, which are in the Grazzi archives, with two of them also accompanied by studio footage of Markus' original performances.(all musical excerpts heard in the interview are taken from Markus Reuter and Stefano Castagna's album Sea of Hopeless Angels) -- Dig DeeperVisit Markus Reuter at markusreuter.comDownload Sea of Hopeless Angels on Qobuz or Bandcamp, and listen on your streaming platform of choice.Follow Markus Reuter on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTubeSea of Hopeless Angels visuals + videosBe sure to peruse this episode's extensive show notes at spotlightonpodcast.com-- • Subscribe! Hi, we're Cinthia Varkevisser And Michelle Walters, co-hosts of Mind Power Meets Mystic. Our weekly show is here to expand your mind to what's possible, to uplift your spirits, to move forward with competence and joy, and to create a space for your collaboration with the invisible. Welcome to Mind Power Meets Mystic.Hey, hey, hey, party people. This is Cinthia Varkevisser, your mystic, and my mind power friend, Ms. Michelle Walters, is allowing me to take the platform today because I have something that I really would like to discuss. What I'd like to talk about is how to walk 5D in a 3D world. Now, this is so interesting to me because our world is changing, and it's very exciting. You'll see that people are starting to change their communication and say, "I hear you," or "What I hear you saying is," or "I feel that," or "Let me see if what you're saying is what I'm understanding." Oh, really beautiful things. And then you have this 5D space in which we go beyond these emotional things, and we are connected to a higher source. In this higher source, there's no concept of time, there's this greater generosity, there's this greater everything. And there's actually a loss in emotional attachment. That's not a bad thing at all. However, there are a lot of people who are saying, "Oh, lordy, lordy, I just want to be 5D." Well, in 5D, there is no eating, there is no drinking, there's no taking a shit. There's no love. There's nothing greater than love. But there's not this emotional connected love that makes us weep when we see our loved ones, when we are so sad when we, you know, it's really beautiful to be a human being. And so I am committed to talking about 3D, 5D. There are so many juicy things in 3D that we don't want to leave it in. I'll tell you, I had a near-death experience. And I had the opportunity to come back. And I channeled Induro from the fifth dimension. So I believe I have this really unique qualification about 3D living and 5D experience.Alright, let's first explain what the hell these dimensions are. There are a multitude of dimensions; my tiny little brain can only handle 12. And the way that I understand from Induro is that there are many more, but we are only exposed to as much as we can handle. And for me, that's 12. Maybe there will be more later. And we'll talk about that more later.Alright, so let's start with math. First dimension, think about just drawing a line. There's really nothing to it, there's no depth, there's no height, it's just a line, that is 1D. Along comes another line that decides to not bisect but to make perpendicular. And now we have two, we have length, and then we have height. So we have something to compare to and our vision. And our understanding gets to be a little bit deeper. Then we come to 3D, which is the way that we live. In 3D, it's height, length or width, and depth. And from that, we get this really beautiful thing called texture. And that's how we get to see different colors. That's how we get to have different feelings. It's how we get to have the shapes. So thank you, Mr. Mush, let's my math teacher, which is a whole different story. Who taught me about the line taught me about let me see. Let me go to my notes. Because I do have notes. Our line, our plane, and then our cube. So 1D, 2D, 3D, and this is where we live. 3D is where our emotions are. This is where our perceptions our judgment really is a perception plus an emotion. Right? So this is where all these lovely things are, this is where we get to have a body. And this body survives on sleep on eating, drinking, waste, sunlight.Okay, so we are delicate little creatures, because we need these five things. And we are incredibly sturdy creatures, because we've been around for a little while. So it's 4D, 4D is time. 4D is where a lot of us are still not really understanding time. And we are. It's not being moved. But we are tied to time when really, that is that's a...
