Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at 8 Holly! We have a lot to be thankful for and hope you have or had a happy, safe and relaxing holiday! The entire 8 Holly crew was back together again and it was a fun episode. As always it was fast and furious and we hit a wide variety of topics. We aim to be a variety show and want to hear more options! So if interested in coming on the pod please let us know. 8 Holly does not want to be a political podcast. Yes we talk about it because it is part of what we talk about in our everyday life. We set out to be a real world variety podcast that was part serious part funny. But right now it is hard to know how we feel about the state of our Country and where we go from here. After the events of Charlottesville we needed our own pod therapy and discuss the feelings the 8 Holly crew had. The 8 Holly Crew went back on location to one of its favorite and original spots - Lonerider Brewing - and was lucky enough to record siting in the actual brewery which is also fun! We started with a little brewery tour (look for it online), a recap of the last pod that Rich missed, some talk about how NOT to be a leader(looking at you TRUMP)and then some health talk learning how Paul's Vegan journey has him feeling great! After a very successful 5 year old birthday party, with the stars shining and the crickets chirping, 2 out of 3 of the 8 Holly crew wanted to get some things off their chest! This episode revisits the Lance Armstrong "hot" topic, we get an update on the weight loss challenge and the awkward but very real subject of passing gas discreetly! 8 Holly was also able to introduce of the wives of 8 Holly. The 8 Holly Crew is known for chasing rabbits or should we say random "subjects" on the fly down rabbit holes. Is it good? Is it bad? We decided it is who we are! The 8 Holly Crew was happy to have special guest Tricia Billy stop by 8 Holly Street today. Tricia is Rich's much smarter sister (Rich pretty much got roasted on this episode) and brings a great perspective on Island Life and Television. Tricia gave a review from her recent Island journey to St. John's which made us all want to go! And we talked a lot abut Television and the golden age of TV right now. The 8 Holly Crew didn't set out to be a political podcast. But after taking a deep breath for a couple weeks we were back and it was impossible not to talk politics. It is all we hear about on every news channel. Russia, Paris Agreement, Comey, Trump, Kushner, Hilary, Biden. It never ends. The 8 Holly Crew covers a lot and shares their feelings which can be summed in 1 word - sad!

The voice of the Triangle Sports scene Adam Gold was gracious enough to stop by 8 Holly to chat about how he got his start in sports radio, Mike and the Mad Dog, HB2, The Final Four, the state of college sports free agency and even snuck in a Master's Pick. The 8 Holly Crew was excited to welcome Robert Morris Men's Head Basketball Coach Andy Toole to talk College Basketball March Madness. Coach Toole both played and coached in the NCAA Tournament so he offers great insight on what it takes to get to the tournament, what it feels like to play and coach, and which teams he thinks will be moving on to the Final Four. Not to mention some discussion on his favorite Bruce Springsteen songs, concerts and how Bruce motivates his coaching career. Lastly, we couldn't let Coach Toole leave without a quick story about 8 Holly's own Sean Gill's time as Manager of the Elon Men's Basketball team. A great pod you won't want to miss. We know an addiction but the places people smoke still perplex one 8 Holly member. - The parking lot crisis! Where is the civility in the world and no where does it rear its ugly head worse then a parking lot during the holiday shopping season! - Having your fandom of a sports team tested! Why do people like to test or challenge why you like a team? One 8 Holly member is tired of it.
