One-run games weren't kind to Kentucky baseball. We saw it again in the regionals against West Virginia. The way the season ended stung and will sting for a while. But the Cats had a solid season and achieved a lot overall. They have positioned themselves nicely for next year if they play their cards right. Kentucky football has us all feeling kind of glum. Maybe they can prove us wrong. Plus we talk Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks. We get some love from Front Porch Sports. Check out our Million Podcast rankings.

ESPN anchor, SportsCenter co-host Michael Eaves joined Vinny and Aaron on the podcast. We talked Harlan County/Hardin County (00:03:53) his favorite/best sport, (00:11:00) covering The Masters (the dream within the dream), being the first black announcer on The Masters telecast. There have been some surprise departures. There have been some unexpected additions. At the end of the day the 2025-26 Kentucky men's basketball roster is going to be fine. Can UK baseball flip the script in these one-run games? Congrats to Georgia Amoore. Couple of thoughts on Nico too. Go Cats!! #WeAreUK Follow and subscribe!
The panic over the portal is just always going to be a thing now. Good thing Mark Pope and his staff aren't fazed by it. Jayden Quaintance, Mouhamed Dioubate, Kam Williams and Jaland Lowe being on next year's roster should go a long way toward easing everyone's angst and anxiety. Aaron interviewed Kam Williams. Be sure to check it out in The Cats Pause. There were also some thoughts on spring practice and congratulations for Lexington media giants Dick Gabriel and John Clay. Go Cats! Follow and subscribe!
We had a great convo with Jay Boulware. Talked about how spring ball is going and what he is seeing out of the running backs. It was one of those nights for Kentucky. They just couldn't get on track and fell to Tennessee 78-65 in the Sweet 16 in Indianapolis. The defensive boards did the Cats in and created a deficit that they just couldn't overcome. Big picture it was still a fun season and there is a lot to look forward to. #BBN Follow, and subscribe!
Aaron holds it down for Vinny tonight from Indianapolis as the Cats get set for round 3 vs Tennessee. #BBN #GoCats Follow and subscribe!
Winless no more. Cats give Mark Pope his first NCAA dub, 76-57 over Troy. Trent Noah got ball rolling and then other shots started falling. Collin Chandler is getting more comfortable by the second. Up next, Illinois on Sunday. RIP to Vern Hatton and George Foreman. #GoCats Follow, like and subscribe!
Is this week flying by or dragging for you? We're all waiting for Friday at 7:00. Lamont Butler's value on both ends of the court will be key versus Troy. One win in the tournament will be an improvement over what we've seen lately, anything after that is just gravy. #BBN #GoCats Follow and subscribe!

Tom Leach joined us to talk about a variety of topics. Hard to believe that it's March already. Has there been a UK team that's been hit as hard by injury as this one has? (00:06:00) Can Collin Chandler continue to contribute offensively on the road? (00:09:00)What would be an acceptable first year for Mark Pope? (00:24:54) What are his expectations for his Reds this season? (00:34:30) #BBN #GoCats Follow and subscribe!
Collin Chandler made his biggest contribution of the season vs Vandy. (00:06:59) The lack of depth makes it imperative to get timely play from the bench players. Amari Williams continues to play at a high level. (00:23:37) He joined Hall of Famer Pau Gasol in an exclusive club last night. Cats have their hands full going to Tuscaloosa but anything is possible. (00:36:50) Our hearts are with all of eastern Kentucky as they deal with terrible flooding again. (00:45:27) #BBN #Kentucky Follow and subscribe!
Played 'em twice, beat 'em twice. Vinny is biased and rightfully so as Trent Noah continues to look more and more comfortable every time he's on the court. The injury situation is real but guys still continue to step up. Travis Perry showed off the floater, Ansley Almonor put the ball on the floor for an And One. Gotta figure out how to win on the road against a below average team in Texas this weekend. Condolences to Ben Christman's family. Follow and subscribe!
The Arkansas loss, the Ole Miss loss, the defensive struggles. The vibe in Rupp Arena leading up to Cal's return. Reed Sheppard's shirt choice. Follow, like, rate, review, subscribe!
Another game in Thompson-Boling Arena, another win for Kentucky. Pretty sure Tennessee just missed another three. We start things off first talking with Porter Hayes of The Hawg Talk. Cal comes back to Lexington. Why have the Hogs struggled so badly? Can they turn it around? How locked in is Cal? Will he be booed or cheered? As banged up as Kentucky was they still took care of business at Tennessee. Trent Noah and Collin Chandler had huge contributions. They weren't overwhelmed by the moment. Follow and subscribe!
Kentucky got the middle of the week off as far as games were concerned. Now they get set to take on Vanderbilt in Nashville. It comes at a good time for Andrew Carr and Lamont Butler. If the Cats can get by with it, should they rest Andrew and only play him against Tennessee? We touched on the latest transfer portal news for UK football. Cal and Arkansas continue to struggle. Plus NFC and AFC Championship games. Follow and subscribe!
Kentucky handled business against Texas A & M. Kendrick Haskins of WAVE Sports and Bleav In The ACC stopped by to talk with Vinny and Aaron. They talked Cats, Cards, hot topics in the ACC: Belichick, etc. Oh and a little bit about the Cowboys next move at head coach too.
The Florida game. It couldn't get much better than that Saturday morning win over the Gators. The Georgia game. It wasn't any fun watching Kentucky play another clunker on the road just like they did at Clemson. Up next, the other Bulldogs in Starkville. Can the Cats find some much needed physicality and keep it all season long to help them toughen up for this SEC grind? Follow and subscribe!
Kentucky got back in the win column against Brown. Jacob Polacheck of KSR joined Vinny and Aaron to discuss that and look ahead to SEC play with Florida coming to town Saturday morning. The fellas also talked about the turbulent offseason for UK football. Plus a little CFP talk. Follow, like, subscribe!
Pope vs Kelsey, round 1. Lamont Butler came back from injury in sniper mode. He was locked in from three-point range. He kept Kentucky in control of the game all day. The transfer portal is also hopping non-stop. Mark Stoops has been busy replacing all of the departures. We also talk CFP and give our predictions.
Colgate shouldn't pose much of a threat but you have to make sure you handle business without looking ahead to the Cards coming to town. There's a lot going on on the football side and Jalen had some thoughts. Fun and joy around the basketball program (00:11:00) Extended run for Travis Perry? (00:14:20) Don't judge Cutter Boley or Bush Hamdan (00:40:00) Be sure to follow and subscribe!
Started without Butler, lost Kerr. Carr was huge, that Jax floater! Kentucky erased a 16-point deficit against Gonzaga to give Mark Pope and the Cats another dub over a top 10 team. Best regular season win since? Wait until they start stronger in the first half! #BBN Follow and subscribe!
Van Hiles joined Vinny to discuss all things that ailed Kentucky football this season. Signing class finished fairly well. (00:01:50) Can't blame Dakiel Shorts for leaving after one season. (00:04:30) The secondary had issues. (00:07:00) Deone Walker has cost himself money (00:09:00). Van talks about the times he got got. (00:15:00) So many things to fix, so little time. (00:20:00) We talk about Van's Bears. (00:26:00) #BBN follow and subscribe!
Mark Stoops is only playing for pride at this point. Deone Walker less dominant. (00:04:20) No bowl game to prep for, will the team show up and keep the winning streak against Louisville alive? Can young Cutter Boley exploit the Cards defense? (00:14:25) Kentucky wasn't shooting the lights out but Mark Pope and the Cats still found a way to beat the Hilltoppers. That's a good sign because every game won't be smooth and free-flowing for the offense. Nice to see them adjust and still score 87 points. (00:24:25) Follow and subscribe!
We start off with football. Vinny and Aaron talk about the tall task Kentucky has in Texas. How crazy will the offseason/month of December be for Kentucky football? Big Dog's offer from an opponent UK played earlier in the year. How big will the rebuild be? Does Mark Stoops really want to deal with it? There were no signs of taking the foot off the gas for Kentucky basketball. They jumped on Lipscomb right off the bat. They look to do the same with Jackson State as tougher games and conference play are right around the corner. Follow and subscribe!
Aaron said the fan base needed it. Catlanta was back to being the Catlanta that we had grown accustomed to over the years. The Cats showed they could get gritty and do what they needed to do to get a win when the offense wasn't flowing effortlessly. Now they can continue to explore lineup combinations against some lesser opponents as they roll on toward Clemson and Gonzaga. Will Mark Stoops be back? How much will Cutter Boley play? So much uncertainty with football right now.
There was a lot to like in the Cats 103-62 win over Wright State. Vinny and Aaron started off positive with basketball first. Koby Brea was driving to the hole. Otegah Oweh was spotting up for three. Gotta love the versatility. On the football side, the Cats had chances to steal one in Knoxville but again, offensive struggles and mistakes didn't let that happen. Follow and subscribe!
It's two exhibition games against lesser competition but Jaxson Robinson is already in midseason form (00:03:00). His familiarity with Mark Pope's system is going to be invaluable this season. Looking forward to Wright State. The low, Kentucky football continues to struggle. (00:26:35) Up next, a trip to Knoxville to face Tennessee in Neyland Stadium. We know the history and how that generally goes. Lots of things need to be fixed with this program going forward. We end it with a little World Series talk. Follow and subscribe!
Big Blue Madness was the good madness from the weekend. There was a lot of cool stuff. Rick's return to Rupp among them. The next day's 20-13 loss to Vandy was the other type of madness. We've seen this movie too many times. Then there was the "tie your shoes" comment from Mark Stoops. We talk about all of it. Which UK team will show up in Gainesville? (00:03:00) The "tie your shoes" situation. (00:26:15) Rick Pitino's return to Rupp (00:40:25) Follow and subscribe!
