Aaron Bradshaw isn't leaving Kentucky basketball for the USC Trojans. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses the rumors surrounding Aaron Bradshaw and a potential move to USC basketball to go play with Bronny James. It's not happening. Bradshaw got on Instagram live and dispelled the rumor that he was leaving. He's 100% committed to the Kentucky Wildcats. Even if he wanted to leave John Calipari's squad... would it even be the best move for him? Outside of having Lebron James' son, is there anything the Trojans have that Kentucky isn't offering? Dawe also addresses the rumor surrounding Missouri basketball player Kobe Brown pulling out of the 2023 NBA Draft and coming to play for Kentucky basketball. That isn't happening, either. Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson has committed to the Kansas Jayhawks over Kentucky basketball, among others. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Dickinson's commitment to Kansas basketball and talks about whether or not the Kentucky Wildcats truly needed him. He's an extremely talented player that will make an impact for Kansas... but compared to Oscar Tshiebwe, is Dickinson a better leader? The 2023-24 Kentucky basketball roster needs leadership. They need someone with experience that can lead Rob Dillingham, DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw and Reed Sheppard. Right now Kentucky's roster is very inexperienced... unless Tshiebwe, Antonio Reeves or Chris Livingston return, the roster will be lacking. What sort of impact would Dickinson have made over Tshiebwe? Would it have fixed what Kentucky needs out of their center position? Lance Ware has entered the transfer portal. John Calipari was right when he said Ware is one of the best teammates he's ever coached. This really helps clear up Kentucky's need at center and power forward - they need a transfer portal piece at both spots if Chris Livingston and Tshiebwe don't come back. Kentucky basketball has too much talent on roster in 2023 for John Calipari to run a short rotation like he normally does. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses whether or not John Calipari will or should run a shortened bench rotation like he has during his time with the Kentucky Wildcats. You have your players 1-6 locked in - Rob Dillingham, DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw, Ugonna Onyenso, Antonio Reeves - but how does Coach Cal utilize Antonio Reeves (if he comes back), Reed Sheppard, Adou Thiero, Lance Ware, etc? If Oscar Tshiebwe and Chris Livingston come back, there's no way Kentucky doesn't have at least a nine-man rotation. If Hunter Dickinson transfers in, UK has to find a backup power forward and then run a long bench. Five-star center Flory Bidunga has recently talked about taking a visit to Kentucky basketball in June. Could he be the next great center for the Wildcats? Lance talks about the strengths of his game - the timing, burst, and aggression on both ends of the floor - but also voices his concerns with Bidunga as a prospect. He's uber talented, but how does his height/lack of legitimate competition translate to the college level? Is he ready to be the next big thing for a college program? Who are some of the other players in his recruitment in college basketball? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! LinkedIn LinkedIn jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster. Five-star forward Ron Holland has decommitted from Texas basketball... John Calipari and Kentucky basketball need to go after him. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Ron Holland's departure from the Texas Longhorns. Holland is a five-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class that Kentucky had it's eyes on back last year. The Wildcats made the top five alongside Arkansas, UCLA, Texas and the NBA G League. How good of a fit would Holland be for Kentucky? What are his strengths? Dawe explains that while Holland may not be looking to split time with Aaron Bradshaw at power forward, it would still be amazing for UK if they were able to pick him up. Kentucky hasn't reached out yet, but they certainly will. Will Levis didn't go in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. It's disappointing for Levis, but it's not the biggest shock in the world. Dawe explains why he believes Levis will be okay and that Kentucky fans shouldn't melt down. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Kentucky basketball is pursuing one of the greatest scorers in the 2024 class, Labaron Philon. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses John Calipari and Kentucky basketball's interest in Labaron Philon, a four-star guard out of Mobile, Alabama. Philon is a bucket getter, averaging 35 points per game for Baker High School on excellent shooting. Dawe breaks down what makes Philon special, and why he would fit great for the Kentucky Wildcats. UConn, Kansas, LSU, Arizona, and Houston are all in pursuit of his services as well. Shannon Sharpe of ESPN claims that Kentucky basketball should have at least three national titles during the John Calipari era with all of the talent UK has seen come through the program. 38 draft picks couldn't get Kentucky more than one title? Dawe shares his thoughts on the soundbite. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! LinkedIn LinkedIn jobs helps you find the candidates you want to talk to, faster. According to the experts, Oscar Tshiebwe needs to come back for one more season with Kentucky basketball. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses CBS Sports' recent article explaining why they believe Oscar Tshiebwe should return to play one more season for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. Tshiebwe is on the edge of getting drafted in the second round of the 2023 NBA Draft, and there's plenty more money to be made at Kentucky through NIL. Dawe explains the pros and cons of returning for both Tshiebwe and Kentucky. Would a return be detrimental? Or would it be the best course of action financially for Big O? Will Levis is projected to go in the top five of the 2023 NFL Draft. Dawe gives his thoughts on Levis and whether he will land with the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, or the Seattle Seahawks. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Kentucky basketball's trip to Canada for the 2023 GLOBAL JAM has been set. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses the Kentucky Wildcats three games they will play in July for the GLOBAL JAM. John Calipari's squad ended up not getting a ton out of the Bahamas trip from last year... but will the U23 teams for Germany, Canada, and Africa poise more of a threat? Dawe explains his thoughts on the competition and why its beneficial for Kentucky basketball and their roster makeup. How much does Coach Cal want to experiment? DJ Wagner can find some minutes at point guard with Rob Dillingham off ball, Justin Edwards can rotate down to power forward, and if Antonio Reeves and Chris Livingston are back, UK can afford to really throw out some weird lineups to see what sticks. CJ Fredrick has committed to the Cincinnati Bearcats. This is a perfect landing spot for him, and it puts a bow on what to expect out of Reeves and Livingston possibly returning for Kentucky. Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson just wrapped up his visit for Kentucky basketball... and it went great. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses what reports have said about Michigan Wolverines transfer and All-American Hunter Dickinson's visit with John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. According to Tristian Pharis, things went really well... but does it mean we're going to get a commitment from Dickinson anytime soon? It's doubtful, considering he still has a visit with the Villanova Wildcats. Vanderbilt transfer guard Tyrin Lawrence may be an interesting prospect for Kentucky, per 247Sports. The Wildcats are listed as one of the best fits for him. If Antonio Reeves doesn't come back, would getting Lawrence make sense - even at the expense of tough conversations with Kentucky's recruiting class (DJ Wagner, Reed Sheppard)? Dawe wraps up the show answering a couple of listener questions. Should there be a cap on how much money a player can make through the transfer portal? Should college basketball use a universal ball like Wilson or Nike? Will the SEC up the ante on punishments for when fans storm the field in college football? Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson has set an official visit with Kentucky basketball. The saga isn't over. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Hunter Dickinson, the best player available in the transfer portal, setting an official visit with the Kentucky Wildcats. John Calipari came and met Dickinson at the airport and talked for two hours before hopping on another flight. It's clear Kentucky basketball wants him. It's clear Coach Cal wants him. What does this change for Kentucky? Is it true that Oscar Tshiebwe is content with UK doing whatever they want while he continues to work through the draft process? How should we feel about it knowing now that one of the main reasons Ugonna Onyenso is returning is because he wants more playing time? How do the Wildcats figure this out? There are rumors that Chris Livingston is a "50/50" to return for Kentucky basketball next season. How should the Wildcats handle the rotation with Antonio Reeves also potentially coming back? Dawe gives his thoughts on Livingston's role and how things may shift around in the lineup. Joe Lunardi released an updated version of his 2024 NCAA tournament bracketology, with Kentucky as a No. 6 seed. They should be higher. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Who should the Kentucky Wildcats go after to help bolster their frontcourt depth? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe gives three players that Kentucky basketball should go after not named Hunter Dickinson, the star Michigan transfer. There aren't a lot of options right now that would be better or as overall talented as Dickinson. John Calipari could go after Virginia transfer Kadin Shedrick... but it looks like Missouri, Xavier, Duke and Texas are going after him. The Wildcats could look at Moussa Cisse, but there doesn't seem to be any interest. Is Kentucky hurting themselves by hoping that Oscar Tshiebwe will come back to college for one more season? Zoom Diallo (not related to Hamidou Diallo) is a five star point guard that Kentucky basketball has recently shown interest in. Would he be a good fit for the Wildcats? Diallo himself thinks so. Aaron Bradshaw will play power forward for Kentucky basketball. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses five-star All-American Aaron Bradshaw's role with the Kentucky Wildcats next season. John Calipari mentioned that UK may play Bradshaw alongside Ugonna Onyenso in the starting lineup, and after seeing what Bradshaw can to handling the ball and scoring from outside. He has a unique combination of size, athleticism, mobility, hands, and touch. He is bouncy around the rim as both a finisher and shot-blocker, and can step-out and stretch the floor to the arc when he is in rhythm. With a recent Instagram story post about playing PF for UK, it seems all but settled that the talented seven-footer will be playing the 4 in Rupp Arena this season. Hunter Dickinson has scheduled a visit with Kansas basketball - along with Georgetown and the Maryland Terrapins. Dawe believes it's certain that Dickinson isn't coming to Kentucky. Ugonna Onyenso is returning to play for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe explains why he believes that Ugonna Onyenso returning for Kentucky basketball may be the biggest get of the offseason for UK. With his shot blocking ability, Onyenso stands out as the only true defensive center the Wildcats are looking at. Having him on roster to help UK in an area they struggled mightily in last season will be refreshing. Especially for whoever Kentucky pairs Onyenso up with. Will Oscar Tshiebwe come back? What are Kentucky's chances with Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson? Small forward Chris Livingston has declared for the NBA draft while maintaining his collegiate eligibility. While he has the opportunity to come back, his message to Big Blue Nation didn't indicate that he would be returning. This is also a great thing for UK - it leaves the door open for Antonio Reeves to come back and be a flamethrower off the bench once again for the Wildcats. The 2023-24 Kentucky basketball roster is starting to come together. Now John Calipari and his staff need to hit the transfer portal for big men. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Mackenzie Mgbako, a five star forward in the 2023 recruiting class, has decided he will not be playing basketball for the Duke Blue Devils this season. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Mackenzie Mgbako's release from his letter of intent with Duke basketball. Mgbako was a big John Calipari target in the 2023 class, and now that he's back on the market... could Kentucky basketball land him to adn onto an already star-studded class that features the likes of Rob Dillingham, DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards, Aaron Bradshaw and Reed Sheppard? Probably not. Western Kentucky transfer Jamarion Sharp has been contacted by Kentucky. John Calipari currently has his work cut out for him both in the transfer portal and within his own roster, trying to piece together who is coming and going. Oscar Tshiebwe may come back, Hunter Dickinson may commit, Ugonna Onyenso may return... there's a lot going on. With Sharp entering the fray, it seems hard for everyone to keep up with all that is going on. College basketball's transfer portal may be the most chaotic of them all. Kentucky basketball needs some answers from their players who may want to leave... or come back... very soon. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses the six players who are undecided about whether or not they want to come back or commit to the Kentucky Wildcats. Oscar Tshiebwe has entered the NBA Draft while maintaining his eligibility. Ugonna Onyenso entered the portal only to turn right back around and consider coming back to play for John Calipari. Hunter Dickinson may be a legitimate candidate for the Wildcats. Antonio Reeves, Chris Livingston, and Daimion Collins still haven't made final decisions yet. What does it all mean? Should Kentucky fans be freaking out? Dawe also answers some listener questions about the roster, the players coming and going, and who he would like to see play for the Kentucky Wildcats next season. Could Oscar Tshiebwe be coming back for Kentucky basketball again? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky Lance Dawe discusses the recent rumors surrounding Oscar Tshiebwe and his potential decision to come back and play one more season for John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats. Tshiebwe is already established as one of the greatest Kentucky players of all time... with nothing left to prove, and little room to improve his already low NBA Draft stock, what could he gain from returning for another season? Dawe also answers some listener questions. We have an insider update on Rob Dillingham's status with Kentucky. Are there any good shooters in the transfer portal that Kentucky could pursue? What are our final thoughts on Sahvir Wheeler? With Kentucky struggling to defend the rim last season, would a better shot-blocking big be a good transfer portal choice over Michigan's Hunter Dickinson? What about Kel'el Ware? Michigan transfer Hunter Dickinson is still exploring his options in the transfer portal, and after a meeting with Kentucky basketball, it looks like the odds are in the Wildcats' favor now more than ever. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe provides an update on Dickinson's status and explains his thoughts on the Kentucky Wildcats' chances to land him. The Syracuse Orange, Kansas Jayhawks, Georgetown Hoyas, Duke Blue Devils and Maryland Terrapins are all viable destinations as well... but does Kentucky have an edge over all of them? Dawe shares his opinions. 247Sports has released their "Way-Too-Early Top 25" for the 2023-24 college basketball season... and Kentucky is not in it...? Is this reasonable? Why aren't John Calipari's Wildcats ranked? Who should they be ahead of? Seth Greenberg of ESPN recently stated that he believes Oscar Tshiebwe will be returning to Kentucky for a final season. Dawe explains why not only does he think that's not going to happen, but why it doesn't necessarily need to happen - Hunter Dickinson, Kel'el Ware, and other portal prospects may be better picks. Welcome in to the All Out Kentucky Podcast your home for the Kentucky Wildcats basketball and football program. I am your host AJ Bradley and I am joined as always by my brother and co-host Sam Bradley. For today's episode we will recap the Wildcats season as a whole and give our thoughts on this year's team. When the season began, Kentucky was a favorite to get to Houston for the Final 4 as the defending NPOTY & a balanced roster of upperclassmen + freshmen looked to be one of the best teams in college basketball. Throughout the next 5 months, UK took their fair share of bumps and bruises but ultimately looked primed to make a tournament run. After a round 1 win over the Providence Friars that run seemed more possible than at any point during the season. Unfortunately, Kansas State ended that dream and the season was over as quick as it started. Michigan center and All-American Hunter Dickinson just entered the transfer portal... and the Kentucky Wildcats were immediately mentioned as a potential destination. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses the surprise portaling of Dickinson, who was an incredible center for the Michigan Wolverines. John Calipari and Kentucky basketball would have to make some roster adjustments for Dickinson... that is, if he were to come. How likely is this? What would this mean for Ugonna Onyenso and Aaron Bradshaw? Is this the best portal option for Kentucky? Dawe also discusses Jacob Toppin declaring for the NBA Draft. He's an incredible person and an excellent basketball player that deserves a shot to develop his skills further. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Who are some players Kentucky basketball could get from the transfer portal? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe looks at five college basketball transfer portal players that John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats could pursue. Jamison Battle of Minnesota could slide in at the power forward spot for UK if Daimion Collins or Ugonna Onyenso leave. If Rob Dillingham for whatever reason doesn't come to Kentucky, then Kerr Kriisa or Taran Armstrong would be solid replacements... or perhaps sliding DJ Wagner up to play point guard at grabbing North Carolina transfer Caleb Love to start at SG? Chris Livingston and Antonio Reeves are considering leaving UK. If both of them leave, then Damian Dunn from Temple would be a fun, versatile small forward to play behind Justin Edwards. Should next year be it for John Calipari at Kentucky if the Wildcats don't meet expectations? On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe discusses Kentucky basketball and John Calipari's future. With the lack of recent success for the Kentucky Wildcats despite having talents like Oscar Tshiebwe, the question must be asked: With all of the five-star talent coming in (Justin Edwards, DJ Wagner, Aaron Bradshaw, Rob Dillingham, Reed Sheppard), if UK doesn't win, should Cal be gone? The Kentucky Wildcats are unpredictable this season, and the quicker we realize that, the better. On today's episode of Locked On Kentucky, Lance Dawe recaps Kentucky vs Vanderbilt in the SEC tournament. Kentucky basketball lost another winnable game after showing serious signs of life late in the season. Dawe explains the shortcomings of the roster and why Kentucky's ceiling is limited. Oscar Tshiebwe still can't defend the rim and the Wildcats need more bench depth. Cason Wallace and Antonio Reeves can't do everything, nor can they be expected to shoot 50% from the field or better every game. John Calipari knows what he has in his team. He's gotten them to the best place he can. At this point, it's about finding rhythm... something UK hasn't had all season. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
