My name is Tiffany Garrigus. I am a little bit obsessed with fitness and health! I coach dynamic fitness and mindful development. My main back ground is Crossfit but I believe anything that moves your body and challenges you, bring longevity into our lives. I also feel in this field there is so much…
Welcoming myself back! Took the summer off to focus on myself and the family as when school is out, routines do not exist much in our household. But most important this introduction of Mrs Audrey Robert is a passionate young individual in the CrossFit world. What makes her so special is the experience of being an athlete to motherhood. As many know the transition from not having a child to having one is massive and life-changing! The importance of sharing this part series is sometimes as a new mother (if you’re not engaged in parent groups) we can feel very alone in our feelings and they’re not always positive. Sometimes we have postpartum and don’t even know it. Which will create a small space within ourselves. But being a new mother isn’t always a bad thing as our bodies are meant to bear children. It does so much for our body physically, internally and for our well-being. There is something about creating a small human inside of us that develops this unconditional love you may not have experienced before. In my own experience, I never knew I could love a human being more than I love my husband. Which was very interesting to me. That’s when I realized there was all sorts of love. There is something also to be said about pre-pregnancy body, pregnancy body and post pregnancy body. The changes physically happens so fast that sometimes it’s hard to digest it all within that period. This obviously looks different for every woman but what we need to consider is that it just takes time. And whatever it looks like for you as an individual that is your journey and I encourage you to do everything you can to capitalize on that! I’m happy to be back and excited to share Audreys journey with her brand new daughter Victoria-Rose ❤️❤️❤️
When is it time for change? This episode is a segway for my new adventure and how this displays a great deal of change. * * ⭐️ * * But how do we as a culture navigate through these endeavours from person to person? * ⭐️ * Sometimes change comes when we least expect it or we maybe we can sit in a space where we can take some time to reflect... The idea is to create that change at the right time. Now, it’s the space of time that create change. Or maybe transform into something better. My dearest friend Alicia has had a big impact in my life as she comes with so much wisdom. She would be considered to have an old soul. I’m excited to share this topic because I feel anyone can resonate as we all go through these experiences one way or another. This is a longer segment. For good reason. I have lots to say about this particular topic. All in love ❤️ When it’s time for you to listen to this segment, learn in your way maybe it was meant for you... Thank you for all the love and support ✌
Breathing we certainly take for granted.. Breath work should be considered as a workout really. Like the way you make time to meditate or workout or just you time. I feel this gets us ready for when we really need it. We have this defence mechanism implanted in us for the scary times like when we’re getting chased by something that could possibly eat us or we see our deathbed during a time of running. But in this day and age we have all these things that put us in this place. Like the day-to-day things that stress us out. Now during these stressful times this type of breath work could really come in handy! They’re all different kinds of breath work that help us be our better selves. And this can be during transformational times, during stressful times, or when you have purposely raise your heart rate like working out or training. This segment is merely my thoughts and experience on this topic. Being that this week is mental health awareness week this is a perfect time to release such an episode. What are you doing this for working out or just for your mental sanity either way this brings such importance. Hope some of you can resonate with this. I’ll share some cool websites below that can aid with this knowledge. https://www.healthline.com/health/breathwork https://www.healyourlife.com/relax-and-breathe https://mentalhealthweek.ca/ Love you all! Boxtalk Podcast ❤️ Aka Tiff ✌
Everyone is so different but yet we can be so much the same. To get ready for a high stress situation like a competition, big fight, or a race we have to do things to help manage our mind. To keep focussed at the prize at hand comes in various variations of tactics. The main ones have to be considered is proper sleep, diet and hydration. Everything in between can vary depending on who you are as a person. But what came up the most words how to manage the mindset! First off is to take out any negative talk. Negative talking manifest into so many things from stress to lack of sleep to self-doubt. The other big one was who you’re surrounding yourself with. Your support system has so much to do with helping gain the confidence so we can be your best selves. These two guests are used to living competitively. First guest Austin was interviewed during his competition and Keith was interviewed outside of competition. I feel both brought a lot of value. I’m excited to share these two experiences as I know so many can relate. @austinevans_ @valerospl_1rm Much ❤️ Boxtalk aka @tiff_fit_biff Or @boxtalkpodcast
There are few things that actually keeps us alive and in this segment we reveal all what we wonder about our health and what we put into our body to accommodate what we think our needs are. Learning about our bodies and what makes it tick is a forever journey. It can be overwhelming because there are so much information out there. But overall health seems to be key when it comes to longevity. Now if your not feeling good, how long do you want to feel that way? This might be a short life in the grand scheme of things but in human years 10, 20+ is a long time to be tired, depressed, sore, bloated so on and so fourth. We have three things we need to consume for our optimal health. The key is to find the right combination that’s RIGHT FOR YOU. Your macro’s. Fat, protein and carbs. When we lack what our bodies need that’s when we have complications. We may not always see what’s happening inside our bodies but it’s how we are feeling can determine what we need to consume to feel better. The start of Jordan’s recipe is to focus on supporting the liver. I was so intrigued by the information that Jordan shares on this. And it’s makes so much sense! We get into what a detox really is and how important it is to our bodies. And I’m not talking fasting or Wild Rose. Talking daily detoxing! I feel in this episode I was able to ask all the questions that a lot of listeners had been asking and questions I had for myself. It really comes down to simplifying things. But because there is so much information that combining whole foods and herbs
Why was this episode so important to me? A few things really... I really enjoy shenanigans. I love making light of things when things are supposed to be serious. I feel like there’s too many things in this world to be serious about and when it comes to physical health through training and good company I love laughing! Laughing brings out those feel-good endorphins along with the same endorphins that come out when you’re training. When you’re feeling good when you’re doing something hard like training it is much more enticing to go back to do it again. Like anything that we do to get that good feeling again and again. But in this way this is a very healthy way of going about it. It’s all very natural instead of using substances to get that feel good feeling which we all know is a slippery slope. When we’re training and we are not enjoying ourselves because of culture, people, or anything else that can hinder that feel good feeling really makes it so that you don’t want to do it again. We all are going to have times where we don’t feel like doing something but if we can just set that aside and do what we know is good for us and act on that we usually come out afterward feeling grateful that we went through with it. I feel being active and laughing is the perfect combination to living a healthy mental and physical life. The other point I want to get across is the opposite end of the spectrum is when we’re not feeling so good. In these times it’s important for us to feel what it is were feeling, sit with it and find a way to move on. And that is what a lot of people use the gym for! For me and many others the gym is used to release tension and stress and leaving at the door whatever happened in that day. Once you step inside that gym either if it’s by yourself or amongst your peers it is basically a new beginnings and a start to feeling better really... This segment resonates with me about not giving a shit what anybody thinks or feels about you. There is huge importance in this because when we care too much it fills our brains with things that don’t actually matter. For instance if you did not think about these things that don’t matter then you can fill that space with things that actually do. It’s really that simple! But how do we get to this place? In my experience I learned to practice all types of meditation, breathing especially, reading books that correlate with these things or podcasts. Like this one! lol Also most importantly I’m putting a disclaimer on this particular episode! We all know that I am not afraid of swearing but there is a little more swearing in this one and most likely some offensive verbiage. If you do not find a female trucker mouth entertaining or have put power behind words that everybody is finding offence these days, this episode will not be for you! Aside from all of that I am particularly stoked to introduce my good friends Tara and Jen! These two boss babes are practically attached at the hip and are sisters from a different mister. I absolutely love their energy and how they feed off each other. They are wives (besties) in and outside of the gym and always have each other’s back. You will not see judgement between these two and nothing but encouragement even though sometimes you feel like they are fighting, but I assure you they are not! If anything they use higher octave voices and motivating verbiage just to encourage each other to raise the bar for themselves. And in that I find most admirable because they still leave arm in arm with nothing but love. I want to thank these two beautiful beasts for joining me on this podcast unapologetically. I also want to thank my audience and anyone listening because getting the feedback that I’m getting and the sharing that you’re sharing, lights a fire under my ass! I hold great gratitude towards you all ❤️ Intro song: ‘Don’t Fucking Tell Me What To Do’ by Robyn Guests: @taracard261 & @jenniferkovacs
Meet Austin! Former high level hockey player, CrossFit athlete, coach at Opus Athletics, home of Whistler, BC. He does remote coaching and individual program design from the average person to the athlete. Did I mention he loves coaching?... As Austin puts it in one of his IG posts, “ it started out accidentally with a few contacts through the gym. Then it grew. Then I decided to take the OPEX coaching program to learn and grow more with individual design coaching. Now, it excites me more than ever when someone wants remote coaching. I love the connection, as well as being the guide to helping someone improve their health and fitness. It’s amazing! And it’s an easy process.” ~Austin This episode might intrigue other coaches. When you feel passionate about making relationships and connections with your clients, your forever building yourself as an individual by furthering your training and maybe considering hiring their own coach to guide them through this process. Learning what an individual needs to create a healthy platform takes a lot of research, strategizing and collaborating. Being that everybody’s recipe is going to look different it keeps us coaches on our game. To start with creating this platform is by finding out what our clients goals are. Then at that point the journey begins. Listen to what Austin’s specialty is when it comes to programming. It’s important to keep it simple but there’s 6 ✌
How we grew up believing what body beautiful was, well everything we learned was not true! What the magazines said, the look everyone was going for seem to be really hard to obtain. And, if you couldn’t obtain it that left most of us feeling not worthy. It’s only been in recent times that having a full figure or muscles was more of the attractive look. So now lifting weights seem to be what everybody was gravitating towards trying to achieve these body image goals. Something that Carina and I have in common (I know many others too) that we thought lifting weights would get us to these imaginary goals. But we then found out that there was more to it than just the way we looked. We have to understand that everybody is built so differently what works for one person may not work for the next. In Carina‘s case she was never a small framed female. In her head to get smaller was to start by lifting weights. Then she found that weights that were heavy for most were actually very light for her. At this point something clicked for her and seem to be very attracted to powerlifting. What she did notice was that there wasn’t very many female powerlifters at that time. But also at that time the Internet was not fully blown with all the access of information that we currently have. It was very limited! Because of her body image insecurities this was something that she only ever dreamed of and did not have enough confidence to persevere. After a near death experience with meningitis she then realized we only have one life to live so let’s just live it to our fullest potential. And that is when her journey began. Her first meet she was able to reach 1000 pounds as a total score. *for those who are unsure what that means it the total scores of lbs bench, back squat and deadlift. The potential after that was endless and it hasn’t stopped yet! Carina’s most favourite achievement is having the world record bench at 341 pounds. She’s hoping to beat this in August at another sanctioned Invite only event. How do you raise kids in the gym? You just bring them. In powerlifting and CrossFit gyms where there’s an open floor concept you could have full eye range on your children given that they are behaving themselves LOL The great part about this is it desensitizes them on how intimidating a gym could be and they get to watch their greatest hero of all time crush it. Her little guy is now a huge part of their culture and powerlifting family. As young as he is, everyone helps out when Carina is working towards stepping on the podium. Carina’s biggest message in this episode and in all of her programming she does for her clients is not just show up but she is a huge advocate of learning to love ourselves. This is an experience that majority of us have to learn because of our culture from the past and sometimes the present on what beautiful is. What it really is, is that YOU are beautiful regardless. And we need to find ways to believe that. It is easier said than done and it takes a little work but that’s OK. That’s just going to be part of the journey of achieving something amazing. When we love ourselves everything is limitless and we don’t care what other people say because we know it doesn’t matter. Speaking more on the negative terms. Now that I have made you think she is a friggin GOD lol please welcome my favourite female power lifter Quadzilla aka Carina ❤️ @quadzilla @boxtalkpodcast @tiff_fit_biff Love you all ❤️
The reason why this particular segment is so important is because our physical health has everything to do with our mental health. Meet Alex! Alex got his Masters of social work at a university of Calgary which landed him a job working with male victims of domestic abuse. He did a lot of work in counselling in advocacy while training organizations and how to work differently with men. He then taught at Mount Royal while continuing healthy masculinity work. He is now in Toronto with the private practice and doing monthly groups with men with an agency creating a branch of nontraditional conversations. Alex‘s message is mostly about being a strong male role model and challenging gender norms in toxic masculinity such as social constructionism. It is normal as humans to have excitable highs and depressing lows. But what is not considered healthy is being in these destructive lows for a long period of time. I personally can resonate with a lot of Alixis theory, philosophy and facts! He’s a well educated man with a lot to offer. What I like about him the most is that he steered his work towards men’s mental health. Sometimes going across the board isn’t always helpful from a business point of view. But when a man sees that another therapist who is a male that specializing with men’s mental health particularly, that man may be more inclined to share. Women as we know has fought for many years that we were more than what our grandfather said or our great great grandfathers said, so on and so forth and we have recognized the delusion of this pecking order that has been going on for many years. A part of what we have talked about in the podcast is that men have developed toxic behavior. In regards to that there has been a delusion around what expectations are of men. They were raised to never cry and only pussies would have feelings, suck it up all that good stuff. This is all very untrue. What we do have in common between men and women is that we all have ups and downs and the ability to develop mental health issues. We all have our own triggers and stories that have lead us to the present of pain and suffering. So it’s very important we seek help for this navigation as we are not born with these tools on how to come out with our head held high. Alex also mentioned an amazing non profit organization for our youth (our young men). I have a 13 year old son and we are considering this amazing opportunity! NEXT GEN MEN is a youth-led, nonprofit organization focussed on building better men through youth and peer engagement, education and empowerment. Website: nextgenmen.ca Please welcome the expert in all this amazing work... Alexander Cameron @thetattooedtherapist Thank you for all your loving support and listening ears ✌
There is nothing more fun than having an authentic conversation with a good friend. So many times have I wished I just press record in certain conversations. This time, Andrew and I planned to have such an authentic conversation we talked about Andrews experiences in life changes. As time goes on and you look behind you, you would probably call that a transformation. We all have them. They may even be called milestones. Milestones are the most memorable times of your life and when you use that as part of your life’s story it’s what makes YOU for who you are. During these heart aches and when life brings you low’s and what seems to be the end and how can you possibly move forward because it’s so challenging, these actually are what makes us so much stronger and so much better than who we were previously. Well, that’s what they’re meant for... We actually have a choice when these memorable times come. We can either sit and stay in that grieving process or we go through a time of sorrow and choose to move forward. It always sounds easier than it is. So don’t forget that everybody’s process (journey) looks different! Andrew shares all these experiences because this is where his biggest growth happened in the last part of his life. Don’t give me wrong, he still alive and well and thriving but there’s a lot of what he thought were dreams he had to learn to let go. This is the part of the development that I love to dive deeply into and really excited to share with everybody. I can guarantee that somebody can resonate with this. Thank you Andrew for sharing your vulnerability and thank you everyone for your love and support! Check out Andrew on his Instagram page. He is very inspiring and up to some amazing things, as usual! @andybeewarhol BOXTALK PODCAST With your host: Tiffany Garrigus @tiff_fit_ biff & @boxtalkpodcast #boxtalkpodcast Much love ❤️✌
What is holistic health? This is what google says... A Holistic Health Coach is a trained professional who uses an integrative approach to both diet and lifestyle changes to improve their clients' health. Working as a guide toward an overall healthier life, they will look at their clients' nutrition patterns, relationships, physical fitness, spirituality, and more. This is exactly what Marlon Azurdia is and he is very passionate about it. So much so he lives and breathes the full circle of a holistic approach in his life and his family. I had the pleasure of having the walk through of his sanctuary that him and his wife has built. It had a very calming affect on me. This podcast is a two part series on Marlon. The first half is about his career as a holistic coach and the second half is about his career as an elite athlete. In the first half we covered topics as a holistic health coach. 1. Ego 2. Limited believes 3. The importance to the circadian rhythm of our bodies. 4. Mindful thinking 5. And DIET So much value to all these spectrums. Part #2 Marlons story.... He is Guatemalan. From Central America. Crossfit change things up a bit. We are now allowed to represent our home country even if you don’t live there. As long as you have dual citizenship you got yourself a hall pass! So that is exactly what he did... His score is ranked top of Guatemala and is now waiting. At the moment he hasn’t received the official results but we are certain he is going. He sent in his videos the headquarters said is a good thing if you don’t hear back. Crossfit will announce the official champions of every country this week coming up! Very exciting! What sacrifice means to Marlon as he’s been an athlete all his life and right now has the opportunity to represent what he truly stands for. This responsibility takes great sacrifice and being a family man it takes his team (family) to create as much of a balance as they can. Balance in the way that assures nutrition, mindset and recovery is mostly on point. Marlon’s wife has gone through her own challenges and he shares. Being a cancer survivor they take the more holistic approach. This helps enables Marlons passion for holistic health and wellness. This approach has benefitted their health and careers. Disapline is something Marlon is very familiar with. In order to stay disciplined him and his wife have created a lifestyle that supports less than no distractions. They have a beautiful acreage with everything they need on it. It’s full of serenity and peace and it’s exactly the way they like it! This all counts for the everything in between that he has control over. Instead of listening to music all the time he will typically put on an e-book or podcasts on things that he is passionate about and has something to learn from. “I am always a student in this process.” ~ Marlon There is so much truth to this and everyone should resonate with that. When it comes to training this can vary. This will depend on what time of the year it is. Typically in between important times a year such as the Crossfit open to regionals and then in his case the games. When gearing up for these type of events training has different segments in the day because there is so much to cover. Sessions can start in the morning and then again in the afternoon or in the evening. But as we can both agree on that the recovery is by far the most important part of this piece along with high quality nutrition. In saying this he is also a huge advocate to intermittent fasting. He uses this method in conjunction for fuelling his body for performance. And clearly it’s working! Again I am so excited to share another valuable episode and want to thank Marlon for his expertise and time. Check him out on his IG page: @mapstrength And his website https://www.marlonazurdiaprogram.com/ Thank you everyone. With much love ❤️ BOXTALK~ Tiffany Garrigus
Morgan Chaulk Her back ground was event planning so this gig was really right up her alley! I feel like there’s a lot of life experience and the understanding of the philosophy of life to go feet in organizing and planning all these amazing CrossFit events. Morgan and her husband Brian have done such a good job organizing these events that Crossfit headquarters decided to make Canwest Games a sanctioned event! Meaning the winners in the elite male category, the elite female category and the elite team category will get an invite to the CrossFit Games! The rules have changed so much from a few years ago that it is too hard to reach even the regional event mind you getting to the games. But with grit and hard work this event has been honoured such an experience. This really isn’t all that Morgan offers. She is a huge advocate of women supporting women and loves, loves mindset development! Need I remind you, that is what this podcast is based around. She’s not only a boss babe in event planning but she’s also a mother of two beautiful children. How does one successful woman have and find a balance between work, children and family? Here is where Morgan shares how her and Brian accommodate their life‘s morals and values in with their little people! What does it mean to be venerable? Many still see it as a weakness but yet it’s a time for taking a breath and being humble. We don’t always have to know the answers but just trust that where we are in that moment of time is where we are meant to be and there’s a lesson in every part of it for you and you only. What do you want to be remembered for? ‘You can decide how you want to live your life. Every day is a new day.’ ~Quoted by Morgan Morgan is value driven alongside with staying within your integrity and being honest all the way through. This way of being and thinking leaves a legacy forever in the books. These type of lessons need to start within your home and then travels outside to everywhere you go and everyone you talk to. That is true impact! Family is so important to Morgan that all these values came on so much stronger when she had children. The purpose grew larger and her voice grew louder. Now the importance is bigger than her. Morgan and her husband/fiancé have a history of friendship before they ever decided to create a life together. How do you work and live and raise children with your partner? My favourite quote of this episode is “I choose you”. This is so powerful! We all have a life to live and everyone is in their own journey but it doesn’t mean we have to live in our own little bubbles. If your someone who is driven to make a difference and knows there’s something bigger than you, check out this episode. Maybe it will inspire you to finally put yourself out there with 2 feet in! With all our hearts thank you for joining us! ❤️ BOXTALK PODCAST @boxtalkpodcast Morgan Chaulk
How do we handle hearing someone say their ill thoughts about us? This is coming from someone who used to lose sleep over this. I cared so much that I lost focus on what the truth really was. Is it truth when someone make shit up about us? Obviously not! But we do get more upset about the ‘why’ they would do such a thing... But let’s face this fact: Hurt people hurt people. You’re someone feeling on top of the world and confident in your own skin you are not likely to sit in a space that would really judge anyone. You’re definitely not going to spit venom to others that’s for sure! So if you are feeling ill feelings about other women or people that you don’t really truly know, maybe you need to look in the mirror. Is it all really fake if you get your lashes done, lips injected, hair dyed, nails done, brows tattooed? Hells no! That’s just surface shit. But we really have going on runs so much deeper. Hearing what negative people say about us or others doesn’t actually make us feel confident they are not talking shit about us. So create those healthy boundaries for yourself so when this stuff does come up it won’t be affecting you as much as they would hoped to. Since we are on the topic of the ability of creating what we see as beauty with make up and surgery, we want to teach our daughters to be confident with who they really are. Where do we draw the line? Listen in on Tiffany’s experience with her 9 year old daughter on this topic! I’ve heard this many times, focus on what you have control over. This is us! Focus on yourself. Worrying about what others think distracts us from dealing with what is really important. Isn’t that the truth? Be true to who we really are. Or looks really mean nothing when it comes to the meat and potatoes. Beauty stems right down to the soul. But when we are judged based on our looks it really says everything about the person making the comments. Never know what’s happening behind closed doors and even though it seems to look so perfect it really isn’t. If you’re human you have ups and downs like the rest of us. So watch your dialogue, have compassion and know there is more to meats the eye especially behind closed doors. Excited for you to hear this rant! Sending much love and appreciation. Thank you for all your loving support: Tiff and Jill
So Jess is like a sister to Tiff. They have known each other since Jess was about 9 or 10 years old. Now Jess has an 18month old. Boy does time fly! We were so compelled to have Jess on the show because she’s not only well spoken and specializes in western medicine like essential oil‘s, but she’s also the founder of a popular Facebook group called Bad Moms of BC! This group was intended for open dialogue of parenthood. But it doesn’t stop there because what Jess noticed in other groups was a lot of cliques and judging. Know anybody who is a parent is knows that being a parent is the hardest job you could ever have on the face of this earth other than working on a marriage. The last thing any parent needs to feel is judgment from people throwing rocks at glass houses.
We are really excited to introduce This guest. He takes a huge stance for the fight against bullies and standing for what’s right. Not only that he has a heart of gold because he understands the philosophy of human compassion. He’s lived a life of many experiences that is brought him to this. But I’m also pretty sure we discussed that he is hardwired this way and was born like this too. There’s something to be said about yes-man. He seems to be that person. The guy is down for anything and lives fearless. He is a born fighter with his fists and his mind. He’s also looked up as one of the top training facilities in the lower mainland as far as fitness and MMA fighting goes. You’ll hear further in the podcast how this all started and how he is continuing to persevere against those who don’t believe in him. He’s a very large following with many well respected people in this industry. He’s found to be humbled but yet so full of energy. I bring that to the forefront because he is proclaim to be a one-man show with all that is happening in his world, which is A LOT! The most current thing happening right now is that he is just turned 40 and he’s about to fight his last fight. Now he has said this before but in the fighting world in the octagon, fighting at that age many would have already retired. This seemed to be a good idea one late night and the guy means what he says and he does what he says! I love it! We are so excited to witness this last flight of this monumental leader! His events that he holds for the rest of the community is at least annually and has been very successful within these events! We love his energy and his passion for all that we stand for! As we dive deep into what we always hear in motivational speeches and what we need to do to create these wins for ourselves. If you’re not sure what your purpose is maybe this episode will help. Being a parent has to be one of the hardest jobs ever! But yet the most rewarding. Today we talk about parenting from our experiences. Now we try to be diplomatic in the way we take in information that helps us be our best selves in this role. This conversation is important because there is a lot brought up sometimes we feel alone in certain challenges in motherhood. Heck even dudes could maybe take something from this too. Does baby fever ever go away? Some say yes some say no. It really depends on where you are in your life. How old or young or you? Have you had children yet? Is the biological clock ticking? Or are you totally content where your at? Either way what your feeling is totally normal. If it’s either a burning desire or a passing thought, no matter where your at, dig deep and sit with it and you know in the end what to do. EVERYONE has a funny baby or kid story! We had so many to pick from really. But it only seemed appropriate to share the first one that came to mind.
We are so excited to introduce some inspiring people who make a mark on health and fitness. Also these are things that make communities strong. Gathering outside of gym time and supporting a celebration of gratitude. We really felt that here! Meet our new friends in some small segments and learn what behind those fierce minds!!! Thanks Aimee and Nick and other guests for this experience!
How did you start your fitness journey? Such a good question to all sorts of answers. Everyone will have their own reasons. When you step toward better health naturally things come up and at the end you’ll here lots of success stories start with “I never though I would be here”. It’s hard not to compare yourself to the next person because that’s where you want to be but you have no idea what that person had to do to get there. You won’t know their background unless you ask. So we did? Meet Aimee! She is another boss babe taking action. Being a leader and composing fearlessness in her journey. Aimee shares her back ground in fitness growing up. But as time goes on and consistency isn’t so consistent we will naturally loose what we worked hard for. But don’t fret! Muscle memory has a way to make it back in a short period of time. Aimee comes from a competitive background. So competing has come naturally for her. Something she has done for sometime now! Her focus has changed now that she has become an intentional leader. She has put her self out there and listen to her calling to coach her very own gym. But couldn’t do it without her community! ❤️❤️❤️ Hear her story and what it took to be successful at this point! Check out Aimee and get gym on Instagram @aimeewiebe6 @grittathletics Thank you! Much love Tiff & Jill
In today’s episode we are more excited than anything because we were able to get out for the first time since this nasty flu took us over! We both were undertaken by the darkside! Cough cough lol (so we are sorry about that part!) How do you get back into your routine after falling off that bandwagon? Whether life gets busy or you get sick or injured there is those times that’s gonna take you off track. We like to share our experiences through this recent endeavour and ones from the past. Do these speed bumps keep you from feeling your best you? Well, why wouldn’t it? That is why you eat good and go to the gym and stay active. It’s because it makes you feel good. So sometimes when we get off track it should be a moment to realize maybe this was meant to be. Maybe it’s time to take a small break and rest it out. Listen to your body and what it’s telling you. Our minds can play tricks on us! But, if our bodies are saying no and our mind is working against that... maybe listening to this podcast will help calm that mindset. Now, what if it’s the other way around? What if your body is totally fine and your mind is really not feeling like doing much other than eating bonbons and watching your favourite show? Yeah, that’s when you dig deep and find the reasons why it’s a good idea to get those running shoes on and get out that door AND DON’T LOOK BACK!!! Lol What about what makes us feel beautiful? There are lots of things that we do to make ourselves feel beautiful. Like doing your hair, putting your make up on, dressing in flattering clothes or clothes that make us feel good. But what about enhancing our body under the knife? As a hot topic and a trend setting procedure, many sit wondering should I get my boobs done or I wish I never have. We share from both sides, Jill has hers done and Tiffany does not. There is a certain mindset that takes place before making a decision such as that. Many women undergo this procedure because they once had boobs before children. Or are you someone like Tiffany where you never really have them. You have to ask yourself, will this make you feel more beautiful? Why don’t you feel beautiful? Am I beautiful? There is deep rooted questions that everybody should ask themselves before going and doing such a procedure as that. We know lots of women that have had amazing experiences getting their breasts done but on the other hand there is many that have really struggled and regretted doing it altogether. Which one are you? Are you happy with your female flat chest or are you struggling with your rocks in your socks? Either way you’re not wrong for doing either! Let’s get that straight! At the end of the day the decision you make is based on where you are at in your life and that moment in time. My best advice would to sit with that and do your research and make sure that its something you were very certain of. We hope this resonates with you and anyone you know. Love, rate and share! Check us out on iTunes and give us a rate and review!!!! Happy Valentines Day everyone! BOXTALK PODCAST Instagram: @boxtalkpodcast #boxtalkpodcast Much love Tiff & Jill ❤️✌

In this episode we gain perspective in what’s happening in this world. A lot of these perspectives inspired Daniel to rebrand his business. Not just rebrand but showcasing a whole new philosophy of this culture. These are the things that get people thinking about how they could make a difference, about compassion, love, and anything else that really fills your heart. Here we talk a bit about the business side of things. Where ideas start somewhere and ends somewhere totally different. But the best part is it’s never the end, it’s part of the journey. This guy is still so inspired I can’t see the end of this journey anytime soon. Something that Daniel made a footprint on was giving back to the community. Because his brand is all about love and kindness and connection it was important to him to give back. I know there is hard times all over the world but from community to community it’s important that we touch base with those around us. Your community is your village and it is our job to take care of those around us. As much as you think you’re in this alone and yes we do need to take care of ourselves but we also need to take care of those around us. Truth! Daniel shares how he did that and I hope by the end of this podcast if you haven’t already, is to join this movement! Enjoy! This is a special episode and I say that because this was not a planned interview. I was away visiting family in California and where I was staying I did not expect to find a CrossFit gym. But who was I kidding, they’re everywhere LOL. When I googled CrossFit gym in the area I was at this one came up. It was the first and only one that I looked at and everything inside me said just go. When I got there at 5 AM to start my day there was this beautiful tall blonde babe welcomed me at the door. What I liked about this scenario was her love and kindness was real! It wasn’t a pretend face just to get someone in through the door. It was a genuine welcome and that’s really all I could ever ask for. As I did her class I paid attention to how she treated the ones around her and the way she said things and coached her people, it compelled me to learn her story. After I got a little bit of a background on Serena it was very apparent this was meant to be! I think even when sometimes there’s a little bit of resistance because of laziness or excuses tend to get in the way. In those times we really need to just check into what our initial reasons were. I was not motivated to get up at 5 AM in the morning but what gave the good experience of it all was the human connection when I walked through the door. And for me being a community based personality she won me over right away! Listen in on someone who is wise to living your life with your cup half full and not empty. I’m gonna take it from this one because previous to the interview I learned where that passion came from. Now she lives her life all around it. ~in a physical driven community atmosphere can teach all sorts of things about your body which can translate into real life lessons.~ stellarcrossfit.com Instagram: @stellarcrossfit CO-owners: Serena aka @kingstellar13 Jill aka @mtnwodgirl BOXTALK PODCAST Instagram: @boxtalkpodcast #boxtalkpodcast
I’m going to keep the write up simple on this one because the topics are simple but yet spread so abroad. “If you want to succeed in this life you need to fight for it with everything in your heart.” We are talking what it takes to be a person to make a difference in this world, stop using excuses and earn your respect by Ibbyali. He is a true believer coming from the east side, fighting on the streets, and knowing what it takes for success. He also quotes “you got a wake up every day and decide what it is you are living for. You have one life make it count.” These are his standards he lives by and preaches. He has a unique style of training his athletes. He’s made a name for himself and has attracted athletes of all sorts to his gym and other locations. He’s known to travel to Vegas to stand in the corner of the UFC ring with the fighters that he is trained, to the average Joe who just wants to get in shape. But what sets him apart from everybody else? We say it’s his true passion and how he delivers the message. Listen in on why failure is so important and what success really means. This episode speaks a lot of taking ownership of our actions. Lindsay had this epiphany to understand the concept of choosing. Choosing to have your cup half empty or half full. Choosing to own the fact that you missed the deadline with also knowing you chose the other thing that you went for instead of getting ready for the deadline! How about just choosing to get up in the morning? Maybe making your bed? It’s a good way to start the day that you might not be so excited about or maybe you are excited to get out of bed! Lol Check out how this comes into relationships especially if your single! We all have choices, to choose means in the moment of feeling you went one direction rather than the other. Excited to share Lindsay’s experience in this prospective
Gamba show notes: What is Gamba? Who is Gamba? Shaun Clark is co owner of Gamba Athletics. Gamaba is a community’s of like minded individuals. Gamba also mean warrior. To sum this up it stands for anyone who doesn’t let life get in the way of their passion of training. Just showing up! In simpler terms this would be considered grit. Did I mention there was no fee for this? Gamba has just launched only a few months ago. So far the direction it’s going its has grown really fast. So far they have 18 athletes that are supported in their craft. Which means there is enough knowledge in the group that form and performance should be improved by each individual. It’s not just a brand but a community. A village. Romy and Shaun weren’t always partners. They started as just acquaintances and have been for the last three years. They only ever saw each other at the gym they both went to. Romy has a passion in powerlifting and was about to attend a competition and preform on the platform. Shaun decided to come to support. Then the love for the vision started there. What attracts people to this community is the kind of love and support you receive. Because the unconditional love Gamba started with, only took a moment of time before many others wanted to be a part of this. Now they are at a point where you need to show and prove yourself worthy of such a concept. More or less speaking of a competitive athlete who wants to join. Now this isn’t for everyone. You have to show loyalty and dedication to the community and the team. And rightfully so! Many want and take and still haven’t learned to give. Takers can take but it takes a leader to give back and Gamba has developed a community of leaders. No reason why everyone can’t have that opportunity. Lets talk about what an opportunity looks like... Are you the person that over analyzes everything that crosses your path? Or are you that person that allows the universe to take its course. Meaning, if something comes your way are you open to that as a possibility? If you have troubles with this concept you have too much resistance to love and growth. Now a good leader like Shaun and Romy, they understand that they don’t have to specialize in everything. They know (as what this podcast is based on) they dominate in their specialties and let others do the rest. What is the point of community if this isn’t the case. Pretty sure last we checked the other ways of the worlds leaderships has holes in it. But if you go back to where we came from there was a panel who made the end decision but it’s the people who speak and everyone has something to bring to the table. Village mentality! Gamba isn’t just a group of people who lift together. It’s a group of people sharing their knowledge to help others be technologically sound in their movements. Working on techniques and form, nutrition and even mobility. Keeping people engaged. Not only that, staying humble and showcasing all what they leaned on the platform. When it really counts. Now Gamba has a heart. Life happens and if you can’t show up and support, as long as there is communication you will always have a place with them. It’s like a relationship. It takes work and communication. When it comes to this grit mind set it’s obvious it really matters on what your inner dialogue is saying. Instead of it might, trying, I can’t or I’m not; try saying it will, I can and I am! Does it matter the age? A common misconception to think your too old to do something. It we need to understand we all have our own journey at different times. Accept it and just do you. Now if your not a Gamba athlete it doesn’t mean you can’t support! They have a sick apparel line everyone is welcome to wear and sport. It stands for all we talked about. Why wouldn’t you want to support such a concept...
