Romans 4:18-5:5 - Matthew spoke about the need to 'Persevere ' through all of life's trials, using (Romans 4:18-5:5) as his proof text
Psalms 100 - Steve spoke about 'Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude ' using Psalm 100 in a very powerful, thought provoking way. As followers of Jesus Christ we can be grateful in the good times and hard times. Our lives are all about perspective!
- All Age Service today with Jason starting new series on 7 important people in New Testament!
Luke 15:1-2 - Jan spoke with real passion again this morning using great illustrations and (Luke 15).
- Phil spoke about his mission trip to Zambia where the team built a kitchen from scratch for a school there.
John 6:1 - All Age Service with Jane challenging us to 'Surrender All', using (John 6:1) and explaining that however little we actually have, it's always enough for the Lord to multiply and use!
Romans 12:2 - Lou spoke about our verse for the year, Romans 12:2. The theme was based around what kind of journey we are all on or are we just static?
Genesis 1:27 - This morning Steve's message was based on (Gen 1:27) 'Being made in the image of God'. Thank you to two elders and a youngster for helping demonstrate the point that we are all special, precious and loved beyond measure by the Lord!
John 1:1-14 - Steve spoke about the fact we can have peace this side of eternity and not be afraid. He opened up John 1:1-14 linking it with Luke 2:8-14.
- Kate spoke from Luke 2 about the various stages of waiting on the Lord. Simeon and Anna were good examples of what this means.
- Steve challenged us to think about, 'Is there a heaven?'' and if we believe there is, 'How are we going to get there?
- Jason finished off his series on the Old Testament with the book of Daniel. Our challenge was to "be not conformed to this world" with the exiles in Babylon as our example!
- Howard spoke about sacrifice starting with those we must never forget for their 'sacrifice ' to the ultimate life changing 'sacrifice ' of our Saviour, Jesus Christ!
Psalms - Liz Jermy used two Psalms 42-43 to speak passionately about mental health, the issues, stigma and positive ways to live with and come through in Jesus Christ!
Romans 5:3-4 - Lou spoke from Romans 5:3-4 and did an admirable job using this passage to speak about 'Pain' and how even though none of us enjoy it, we can come through victorious with a more durable, godly character! Jesus is our joy and He faced life's trials fixing His gaze on the finishing line which would bring us eternal life and freedom through the suffering, pain of the cross.
- Jason spoke about Jonah and the importance of obeying the call of the Lord.
Mark 10:17-23 - A very challenging Word from Matthew. Mark 10:17-23 asking the question, "What is the priority in our lives?" If the Lord, His Word and taking time to listen is not the answer then all else becomes meaningless and shallow!
Psalms 46:1-2 - Steve spoke powerfully from Psalm 46:1-2 all about FEAR that can stop us from moving forward. As we look to Jesus and seek to soar into His presence we can overcome!
- Mike from CARE, Christian Action Research and Education spoke a really challenging message about Christians supporting, teaching and, training those in Parliament and society today.
Hebrews 11:1 - Jason spoke passionately about how he came to faith which was very moving! "Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (Heb11:1)
- Well done Jane assisted by hubby Matthew speaking about our need to grow into our future. . The various shoes illustrated the point.
1 Corinthians 11 - Jan spoke a challenging Word about 'Communion ' using 1 Cor 11. She gave us the Pauline background to the Corinthian church, their issues and what they needed to do to be more Christ like. The challenge thrown out to us was this, "What needs to die in me so that I may be more Christ like? " We ended with communion together.
- Worship and Word in unity as Steve spoke about Phil 3:1-14. Our character is so important as we live as a follower of Jesus Christ!
- Great worship with a mission feedback from Jason and Lydia who recently travelled to Egypt and Jordan. We were all very proud of Lydia since this was the first time she has spoken at the front of church!
- Powerful, challenging Word from Jan. 'Don’t Look Back Move Forward ' based on (Phil 3:13-14) "A scar reminds us of our past but does not need to dictate our future", God’s strength is the key.
- Di spoke using the illustration from Scriptures of the fig tree and we ended our time celebrating Communion together.
Exodus 3:1-10 - Kate spoke from Ex 3:1-10 on 'Moses and the burning bush' and we must not doubt what God is calling each of us too. We should all aim to be the person He says we are.
- It was an all age service, and Jason shared the story of Naaman and how he had to humble himself, follow instructions and have faith in God
John 13:34 - Jan spoke a challenging, inspiring sermon from John 13:34 on 'Loving one another'.
- Ed Clay shared part of his testimony. He spoke about how he became a Christian and having trust in the Lord throughout the difficulties and challenges he has faced in his life.
Jonah 1:0 - Matthew Webber gave his first sermon at church today and spoke about 'Obedience ' unpacking the story begun in Jonah ch 1.
1 Kings 18:0 - Jason unpacking the story of Elijah as only he can! (1 Kings 18)
Revelation 1:0 - Steve Worthy spoke from Revelation chapter 1, the amazing final book of the Bible on the topic 'Everything will be alright in the end'.
- In this mornings service we heard Mike share his testimony, titled “Be careful what you pray for”!
- A great Jason style message based on the life of King David. The warning was to be aware of our decisions because they all have an affect on the rest of our life!
- Jane spoke powerfully from Numbers 13 on the importance of obedience even in the face of strong opposition.
Luke 24:13-34 - Kate spoke on Luke 24:13-34, 'The road to Emmaus'. Jesus helps us carry our burdens and we need to be aware of Him walking with us. Kate involved the children admirably, naturally chaos ensued for a moment as she demonstrated the point.
Luke 24:1-12 - Jan spoke from Luke 24:1-12 and even managed a powerful Titanic ship story of Rev John Harper who kept shouting for "the women, children and unsaved to get in the lifeboats first!" Our challenge is to give our life jackets away to those who need them too! Jason used a wonderful illustration of how the cross and Christ releases us from sin.
Luke 19:0 - Steve spoke from Luke 19 about the Power of Extravagant Worship to revive us and the need to be cleansed in our bodies as 'Temples of Holy Spirit ' The crowds were praising Jesus for the miracles that others had received. Are we like that?
Mark 10:46-52 - Lou spoke from Mark 10:46-52 and challenged us all to "enter in" to a deeper relationship and trust in Jesus Christ. A relationship not asking simply for short term sustenance of money, food or clothing but receive like Bartimaeus an eternal blessing that will sustain us for ever! Truly inspiring message to not let our fears hold us back from witness, worship and wholeness in our Lord!
Ezekiel 37:0 - Powerful move of Holy Spirit from the start. Lou shared from Ezekiel 37 (The valley of dry bones) and linked it in a very vulnerable, open way with her testimony and how the Lord will breathe new life into us if we trust him to.
Malachi 1:0 - Challenging Word by Jan on Generosity Part 3! The challenge was to use our generosity of time, talents and money so that there is a continuous flow through our lives to others. To be like the Jordan River not the Dead Sea! There was also a warning to learn from Malachi 1 and give our best not our left overs!
- Jane spoke about dedication and the importance of having a good church family who will encourage and support each other whatever our age.
Matthew 18:15-20 - The Rev Elfed Godding preached from Matthew 18:15-20. Authority and authenticity as followers if Jesus Christ will result in power and witness within our communities.
- It was a special service this morning as we blessed the marriage of Jems and Dyfan, who got married up in Cheshire last month. “Granny and Brian”, more commonly known as Jane and Matt, did a puppet sketch explaining all about marriage.
Romans 12:0 - Steve preached part 2 of our new Sermon series on 'Generosity ' which included (Romans 12). Very powerful challenge to stand together without fear in true Love and Generosity.
