House, Deep House, and Techno music mixes, mostly live from resident show at dogglounge.com Internet radio plus other recorded "live" sets from elsewhere.
It's been a while since I uploaded here. I'm playing at Balearic FM these days, and everything is in rotation there. BUT, I loved this Gospel House set, and thought it might be happy to share it here.
A delayed posting of a set played live 2021 May 14. (Sorry for the delay!) It's becoming clear (thus the set name ;-) that my station is attracting some new DJs. There are four that have signed up to spin, and a couple of more are submitting sets for review. But we need more, so spread the word. Hopefully this set brings some "clear"ness to your day, with tunes from Crackazat, Camilo Franco, a new remix of Days Like This (from Booker T), Sebb Junior, Viola, Ross Couch, Spiritchaser, Nina Kravitz, and many more. Enjoy!
Recording of set played live at Balearic FM on 2021-Jun-04. Lots of straight-up house with a good beat after the deep house warmup. Tunes from well known artists like DJ Seen, Kevin Yost, Even Ulusoy, Reelsoul, Grant Nelson and more, plus a bunch of tracks from great producers you don't know. Like and re-post the set, and follow the station - see https://blalearic-fm.com, or soundcloud.com/balearic-fm
Recording of my set played live at Balearic FM on 2021 May 07. As the warm weather returns and vaccines enable a return to traveling, many are making plans to go to Ibiza this summer. We hope you are! This set starts with some warm-weather deep house, and moves into an extended bunch of soulful house in the 2nd half with music from the likes of DJ Spen, Sebb Junior, Booker T and Brutha Basil, Frankie Knuckles and many more. Enjoy listening here, and be sure to tune into the station for 24x7 sets like this. Visit balearic-fm.com
This is a recording of the live set at I spun on Balearic FM on 2021 April 30. Spirits across *most* of the world are looking up as Covid recedes (as vaccine's get into arms). So this set is chock full of soulful, gospel-ey, deep house with a good bit of swing & funk to lift your spirits. Classic tunes from Ananda Project, Frankie Knuckles and Crazibiza, modern remixes from Dr. Packer and Seamus Haji, and new tunes from House Gospel Choir, David Morales, Michelle Weeks, and on and on. Tune into the station, too! balearic-fm.com, or on Apple Music (app), TuneIn (except UK), and many other internet radio apps.
Recording of my live broadcast at the station on 2021 April 23. Support the station by reposting this mix, and sharing the website with your friends (https://balearic-fm.com). This set starts off with some Deep House to get you started on your Friday evening, then works its way to some more straight-up house, thru tech house all the way to some full-on techno to finish the set. - with an awesome techno closer that eases you down nicely. Songs from all kinds of good producers you may know like DJ Spin, Pezzner, and more - but mostly songs by producers you *don't* know who are making good music, from Karizma, Ben Sun, Furious, Catz 'N Dogs - and that wonderful closer by Avoure. Enjoy, and be sure to tune into the station for 24x7 broadcasting of this kind of music. Find the station in Apple Music's "Internet Radio" listing.
Recorded live at Balearic FM radio station (balearic-fm.com) on 2021 April 16. LOTS of listeners from many places around the globe today. Good stuff! Tunes today from all kinds of great producers you know, including Kerri Chandler, Copyright, Jamie Lewis, and ones you don't like Toby Tobias, jovonn, Brame & Hamo, Salvia Commandos, and more. Tell your friends about the station, and encourage them to listen in at the station, which they can find on Apple's music app (just search for "Balearic FM" in the Apple Music area), or at the website - http://balearic-fm.com - where we've newly-installed a chat feature for the community.
Recorded live on 2021-04-02 at Balearic-FM.com, 3-5pm EDT. Reminder that this is a new station for me, and I'd appreciate you spreading the word. Good music plays 24x7, and a full live DJ roster is being built out. Tell your DJ friends to apply for a residency slot (website above). This past week was the anniversary of the passing of Frankie Knuckles. Are you familiar with his tunes? If not, you'll hear plenty of them in this set! (Also, are you familiar with island shown in the show cover image? Name the island in the comments!)
This is a set from the new internet radio station I've switched to: Balearic FM Come listen at either https://balearic-fm.com, or find the station on TuneIn (or other internet radio apps)). My live-play time slot is 3-5pm Eastern Time on Fridays. I'll have a bit more musical freedom here than at my old residency (dogglounge.com). I played there for many years, and loved every set I played with that team. But Balearic FM's format gives me the freedom to play more Tech House and Techno. And it's listener base is about the same as Dogglounge's (though the station needs to work on its website sophistication and podcast distribution. We'll get on that right away ;-) Still, though, THIS set would still fit in at the old station, with lots of great tunes from Motorcitysoul, Kruse & Nümberg, Reel People, and one of my all time favorites Everything But The Girl. Enjoy!
This is a 1-hour set (vs. normal 2) because of a time-schedule collision with the DJ on the station before me. This is more from the crate I assembled for last-show's "notable tunes from my first 150 shows". Recorded live at Dogglounge.com on 2021 Mar 19. Photo credit: Walter Mendez Rojas at Unsplash
As my 150th broadcast at the station, I collected 2-300 of songs I liked from the previous 149 sets into a digital crate from which to select this set of 34 as I went along. So the song style varies quite a lot, from straight-up deep house all the way to heavy tech house at the end. I hope you've enjoyed the last 150 sets, and will stay with me for (at least) the next 150. Photo credit: Sam Sommer at Unsplash.com
Recorded live on 2021 Mar 05, just AFTER I got home from Miami. I couldn't completely shake the high energy of Miami, so there was some "residual energy" in this set - less than my last one, but still some fun here. Tracks by all kinds of greats - Atjazz, Two Armadillos, Demarkus Lewis, Low Steppa, Keri Chandler, David Harness, and many great tracks by lesser-names like Boosh, Dee Montero, Mike D, and more. Enjoy! Photo credit: Sam Sommer at Unsplash
Recorded live on 2021-02-19 while I was in Miami, FL, filled with tracks that reflect the fun energy of Miami. Includes tons of new and old tracks from producers you know, and don't know - like Kerri Chandler, DJ Aakmael, Atjazz, Ben Remember, Anna Tur, Nicolas Masseyeff, and many more.
My normal Friday residency slot crept up on me, and I hadn't prepared as well as I maybe ought to have. So, this one is a bit ad-lib. But, it turned out pretty good. I hope you enjoy tracks from a WHOLE BUNCH of unsung producers that aren't household names, but are pretty darn good, including Lady Alma, Marquis Hawkes, Masaki Morii, Austin Ato, Phaze Dee -- along with others you DO know like Demarkus Lewis, Phaze Dee, Giom, Robert Owens, and Groove Assassin. Nothing major to say this episode, except that I really grabbed ahold of a feel, and ran with it. Pretty un-planned, but it came out good. Tracks from Sebb Junior, The Cube Guys, Shur-I-Kan, Hot Since 82, Dennis Ferrer, Atjazz, Ministry of Funk, and many more. Photo credit: Dan Gold at Unsplash
With a general theme inspired by my lead-in DJ (Voodoo Lopez), this set is full of tracks that have a good bass rhythm. Do you feel the funk & swing in it? Tracks include tunes from Junior Jack, Basi Grub, Photek, Kerri Chandler, The Deepshakerz, NY Stomp & more. Cover art by Ryan Christodoulou at Unsplash.
Tunes that I bought right before the set, and so were mostly new to me. Thus, I had to "wing it"
Recorded at the end of the week where rioters (first) stormed the US Capitol in a minor insurrection. So, this set is full of elegant, classic deep house tunes designed to calm us all the heck down, and spread a little love and peace. And if the tune had a Wurlitzer keyboard, it got high-preference in getting played ;-) Music from Roalnd Nights, dZihan & Kamien, Sebb Junior, Soul Designer, Jamie Lewis, Alex Agore, and more. Happy New Year, everyone! Thanks for all your support in 2020, and I hope I continue to earn and have your support again in 2021. This set was a "best of 2020" set. THREE HOURS of music. The first hour has new (to me) tracks selected from Traxsource's "Top 200 of 2020". The next two hours are replays of tracks I've played during 2020 that were RELEASED in 2020. There's a MASSIVE list amazing producers here - Atjazz, Opolopo, Shur-I-Kan, Ross Couch, Crackazat, Mark Knight, Hot Since 82, St. Germain, Erik Kupper, Purple Disco Machine, Dr. Packer, and sooo many, many, many more. Enjoy this, and happy 2021 to you! May it not be better than 2020 ;-) Photo credit: Meritt Thomas at Unsplash
Recorded live at dogglounge.com on 2020-Dec-18. This set celebrates the hope we have that the past - a world not stopped by Covid-19 - will return again later in 2021, so we can all dance to great house music. So, this set is full of tracks from the past - nothing new. I hope you enjoy these tracks by great producers like Atjazz, Iron Curtis, Seven Davis Jr., Jimpster, Intr0beatz, Rishi K, Riva Star, Shur-I-Kan, Jimpster, Ross Couch and many more. The first 90 minutes are laid-back, and the energy goes up for the last 30. Image credit: Eric Froehling at Unsplash
This is the set I'd play if I were spinning at Blue Marlin beach club in Ibiza around 16:00. It's after lunch, everybody has plenty of Rosé wine in their blood, and these tunes would make you get up out of your beach chair and dance just a weeee bit with a glass of wine or cocktail in-hand. (Can you tell I'm missing summer in Ibiza???) I hope these tracks from Sandy Rivera, Fred Everything, Giom, Shur-I-Kan, Tiger Stripes, Kerri Chandler, Kevin Fisher, Andy Caldwell and more will bring an Ibiza summer to you whenever, and wherever you are.
I like this set a lot. When pulling tracks into a crate, I didn't feel anything special; but the mix led the way, and the result ... well, I like it. 29 tracks from producers like Osunlade, Rishi K, Joshua Heath, Giom, Fred Everything, Jimpster, Kevin Yost, Demarkus Lewis, DJ Roland Clark, some vintage 20-year-old Miguel Migs vinyl, and a whole pile of other producer names you probably don't know. Recorded live on 2020-Dec-04 at Dogglounge.com Enjoy, and see you next week.
Recorded live at Dogglounge.com on 2020 Nov 27. Happy Thanksgiving to you in the USA! Tracks from Colette, David Harness, Kevin Yost, Rishi K, Lisa Shaw, Trentmøller, and many more. Photo Credit: Cheri Buller (SIG Winner)
Two hours of music recorded during my live set on Friday Nov. 20 that I hope will lift your soul as we end November in the crazy year 2020. Lots of old and new stuff here from Roland Nights, Gregory Porter, Atjazz, Fred Everything, Rishi K, Kevin Yost, Kerri Chandler, and even our local producer Boston Bun. If you enjoy this, please share the link with your friends!
Recorded live at Dogglounge.com on 2020 Nov 11. Summer is "still going", so this is an evening-into-night set. Lots of tunes from Kevin Yost in this one. Share the set with your friends! Thanks for the Likes & reposts.
Recording of live set played at Dogglounge.com on Friday, 2020-09-25. No catchy thing to say this time, but the set is Good Quality Stuff(tm). I hope you'll listen, and then share the set with your friends. I'd love more followers!

Recorded at Dogglounge.com on 2020-Sept-04. The days of summer (northern hemisphere)are coming to a close, but I still want to play some party music. Photo credit: Me!
Recorded live at Dogglounge.com on 2020-08-21 This could well be my most favorite set of the ones I've played recently. SO good! I hope you enjoy it. If so, please like & share it!

Recorded live at Dogglounge.com on 2020 July 3. Happy Independence Day weekend to those in the USA! Super fun set today full of soulful house from Susu Bobien, Roland Clark, the rare Pure Dub by Nikos on his Bread of Heaven album, some Eric Kupper, Jamie Lewis, Lisa Millette and many, many more great tracks. I even threw in the legendary Carry On by Donna Summer produced by Giorgio Moroder. I seem to have to play that at least once a year. She had such an incredible voice.

Recorded live 2020-May-08. Lots of really great old house here.
Recording of set broadcast live at Dogglounge.com on 2020 May 01. Fun set this one; comments in voice-over at the start.
Recording of live set broadcast at Dogglounge.com on 2020-April-24 I just had no musical "center" for this. It's kind of all over the place. A glass of beer or two during the set might have had something to do with that.... Photo credit: George Cox at Unsplash.com
Recording of live set on 2020 April 17 at https://dogglounge.com It's mid-April, and still more chilly & windy that I want. It's also mid-Covid-lockdown, and I can't wait to go outside in the warm weather. So, c'mon spring! Photo credit: Oluwakemi Solaja at Unsplash
Recorded live on 2020 Apr 10 at Dogglounge.com Mostly a straight-ahead House / Deep House set, but with some quality Gospel House & Soulful House about 2/3 the way through in recognition that this was played on Good Friday, and Easter was 2 days out. Photo credit: Gerd Altmann at Pixabay

Recording of set played live at dogglounge.com on 2020-03-27. Support the station! It's self-quarantine time. #covid19 So, here's some tunes to get you moving.
Recording of live broadcast from Dogglounge.com on 2020-March-13. A mix of house, deep house, soulful house, and a little tech house for grins. Photo credit: Dominik Dancs at Unsplash
Recording of live set played 2020-02-28 at Dogglounge.com One of the people who joined the chat room at the site said "Happy Fridayay!" (compared to the normal exclamation "Fri-yay"), so I decided that was a fine title for this set. This is definitely nightclub music; pretty much for you to dance. Recording of live set played on Valentine's Day (14 February) 2020. All the tracks have vocals, and all of them are about love - mostly for other people, but the closer is about love of House! Image credit: Jude Beck from Unsplash
Recorded live at https://dogglounge.com on 2020-Feb-07 I took the Friday slot for another one of the residents at Dogglounge. He may be taking a sabbatical, so this might become my new time slot at the station (at least for a while). I can play a bit harder party music on Friday than my normal on a Sunday, so I trended more Tech House in this set than my usual. Photo credit: Philipp Kammerer at Unsplash
