A faction of the People's National Convention's (PNC) National Executive Committee (NEC) has split to form the People's National Party (PNP) following a dispute over a High Court ruling on April 8, 2024. The Court ruling, suspended PNC General Secretary Janet Nabla due to allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination, and incompetence. The Court also reinstated David Apasera as the party's leader. The PNP also announced its interim executives, with Janet Nabla appointed as the party's National Chairman with Sulemana Seidu, as the Interim General Secretary of the PNP.

Washington has been in recess for the past couple weeks, allowing members like U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar to travel back to Minnesota.   In that time, she has met with President Biden to champion the bipartisan Infrastructure Act and visited the town of Winona as residents prepare for spring flooding.     MPR News guest host Brian Bakst talks to Sen.
