Join the journey on Talk Cosmos, Sunday September 6, 2026, 1–2 p.m. PDT (4-5 p.m. EDT) about “JUPITER FIRE TRINE SATURN”. This is the first trine in a series of three between Jupiter and Saturn since their Great Conjunction on December 21, 2020 in Aquarius at 0°29. They're called the social planets because their 20-year conjunction cycle resets social culture. However, their larger cycle involves 200 years in each element. The December 2020 conjunction ended their 200 years in material earth signs of Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. It initiated the future 20-year conjunction cycles in the non-material air signs of Aquarius, Gemini and Libra. Jupiter's the planet of expansion, making everything bigger, whereas Saturn's the planet determining what is essential and fundamental. Leo's confidence and generosity add to Jupiter's growth. Aries' thrust for honesty, and its courage, drives Saturn to work industriously. We have a year of realistic optimism channeling our efforts into manifestation. These fire energies operate instinctively, with courageous confidence. What if osteoporosis and heart disease have more in common than we realize? In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Keith McCormick, a leading osteoporosis expert and author of Great Bones, to explore the shared roots of bone loss and cardiovascular disease. We dive into why these two conditions can appear together and what your bloodwork may reveal about what is happening beneath the surface. Dr. McCormick takes us beyond the standard lab panel and explains why looking at patterns, trends, and hidden correlations matters when trying to understand the root causes of bone loss. We also talk about homocysteine and why this relatively simple test can provide important information about both bone and cardiovascular health. This conversation is a great reminder that bone health doesn't exist in isolation. Our bones, blood vessels, metabolism, inflammation, and overall health are interconnected. Understanding those connections can give us more information and more opportunities to take proactive steps toward stronger bones and better health. "Osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease can be comorbidities. You need to stand up for your health and speak with your doctor about these things, and ask for good testing." ~ Dr. Keith McCormick In this episode: [00:00] - Introduction and Dr. McCormick's experience living with osteoporosis [07:32] - The connection between osteoporosis and cardiovascular health [12:15] - MTHFR and homocysteine: why they matter [28:06] - The deeper lab testing approach [29:09] - Jane's case: severe osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease [35:38] - The RANK/RANKL/OPG pathway connecting bones and blood vessels [39:03] - Other labs to look at for bone and cardiovascular health [42:20] - Inflammation, metabolism, and cardiovascular risk [44:10] - Gut-bone-cardiovascular axis [48:14] - Sample treatment plan to support bone and cardiovascular health [53:55] - Advocating for your health and asking for the right tests Resources - Dr. McCormick's website - https://greatbonesconsulting.com/consultation/ - Margie's Strong Bones for Life Free Class on September 8 at 12:00 pm EDT - https://tinyurl.com/strongbonesclass - - Osteoporosis Exercises - https://tinyurl.com/bonehealthexercises - Discounted Supplements at Margie's Fullscript Dispensary - https://tinyurl.com/supplementsforless More about Margie - Website - https://margiebissinger.com/ - Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/p/Margie-Bissinger-MS-PT-CHC-100063542905332/ - Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/margiebissinger/?hl=en DISCLAIMER – The information presented on this podcast should not be construed as medical advice. "All good comradeship and friendship" [ABBE] The Illustrious Clients of Indianapolis, one of the oldest Sherlock Holmes societies in the United States, is celebrating its 80th anniversary this September. Today, we talk with leaders Shelly Gage and Mark Walters about their own introductions to Sherlock Holmes, and the remarkable history of the Illustrious Clients. It's a story that begins with the very young Jerry Williamson, who discovered Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce at the movies, sought out the Canon, and began corresponding with prominent Sherlockians. You'll hear about "Immortal Thirteen" who joined their first meeting, and the group's remarkable tradition of writing and publishing, which continues today. Shelly and Mark give us a fascinating look at how an organization founded in the 1940s has preserved its traditions while adapting to a new generation of Sherlockians — and they invite listeners to join the celebration of the Illustrious Clients' 80th anniversary on Saturday, September 19, at 6:00 p.m. Our "Learned Societies" segment kicks off with Sherlockian society activities coming up in the second half of October. Then, it's a new edition of "Examining the Pictures," with the film critic, journalist, and author Christian Monggaard, BSI, with his review of the second season of the BBC's Sherlock series. Finally, the Canonical Couplet quiz will test your Sherlock Holmes knowledge, with a copy of something from the IHOSE vaults for the winner. The Full Moon in Aquarius is a partial lunar eclipse, reaching its maximum at 05.12 am BST/ 00.12 EDT on August 28. This is (almost) the last eclipse in this sign until 2035. There will be another lunar eclipse on the cusp of the sign in August 2027. Rāhu continues to transform this area of your life.Collectively, Aquarius represents AI technology and its impact on society. Personally, whatever Aquarius represents in your chart is undergoing a similar upgrade. This can bring growth, but may prove too much, too soon, unless approached consciously. There can be an ‘all-or-nothing' approach. You may obsess about it and then dissociate. We tend to rush forward wherever Rāhu transits, and a lunar eclipse can accelerate this. Change is necessary, but greed inevitably creates losses later. Both lunar nodes are transiting lunar mansions associated with them in Indian astrology: Rāhu in Śatabhiṣāj and Ketu in Maghā. Rāhu is stronger in Aquarius, encouraging experimentation and innovation. Meanwhile, Ketu in Leo can diminish confidence or prompt us to reject what Leo represents as we pursue something in Aquarius. We can see this play out in mob mentality. The eclipse occurs in Śatabhiṣāj, meaning “one hundred healers”, symbolised by an empty circle. Healing is possible, but unexpected developments must also be considered. It may feel like taking medicine that cures one condition while creating another. Whatever Aquarius represents for you, this is where you are evolving, consciously or otherwise.

Many people with osteoporosis focus on strength training but overlook another key piece of the puzzle: mobility. Today's guest explains why staying flexible, balanced, and confident in your movement is essential for stronger, healthier aging. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr. Justine Bernard, a physical therapist, Master Trainer of the Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis movement methods, and creator of the Gyrotonic Exercise Applications for Osteoporosis course. For years now, our team members have joined Anne on the podcast in late summer to share the books they've been loving most this season. Last year, we split this conversation into two episodes: we heard really positive feedback, so that's what we're doing again this year. In today's episode, the first in our two part series, Anne is in conversation with three of our team members: our Resident Spreadsheet Queen Donna Hetchler, our Modern Mrs Darcy Book Club Community Manager Ginger Horton, and Modern Mrs Darcy Editor and Social Media Manager Leigh Kramer. Next week, you'll hear from the rest of our team. Our reading lives vary widely and we read across a range of genres that reflect the reading world at large. Today you'll hear about true crime and books in translation, a backlist novel that inspired an award-winning musical, a literary mystery from a fan favorite author, romantasy and thriller titles that captured our team's imagination this season, and more. Find the list of titles discussed today and leave a comment to share your best book of the summer on our show notes page. Fall reading is just around the corner and if you're curious about the titles that you may be hearing about in the weeks ahead, or what new releases might be suited to your TBR list, our Fall Book Preview was designed to help with those answers. We'll be gathering for our 8th annual Fall Book Preview on Thursday, September 17. A la carte ticketholders and eligible community members will receive a downloadable digital preview, as well as an invitation to the live Unboxing event happening that night at 8pm EDT. We're also offering a printed booklet edition of the digital preview: it's smaller and in a different format than our printed magazine-style Summer Reading Guide, and priced accordingly. "Those of good fellowship" [VALL] We return to Baltimore and the rich history of one of America's oldest Sherlock Holmes societies, the Six Napoleons of Baltimore. Greg Ruby and Mike McSwiggin join us to talk about the group's origins and its upcoming 80th anniversary. We hear about their first encounters with Sherlock Holmes and then travel back to 1946, when six Baltimore Sherlockians gathered for dinner and founded what would become the Six Napoleons. We also discuss the wonderfully complicated story behind its name, which connects a local Baltimore woman to Napoleon's family and, of course, to a famous Holmes adventure. Today, the group continues its traditions of scholarship, trivia, and, above all, fun. We talk about their memorable "inquisition" used to induct new members, its twice-yearly meetings, and its 80th anniversary celebration this September, which features our own Scott Monty as guest speaker. We also discuss Greg Ruby's Sherlockians of Baltimore (SOBs), a newer organization that meets quarterly, on Saturdays. It's a conversation about 80 years of Sherlockian friendship—and a reminder that the game is still very much afoot in Baltimore. Our "Learned Societies" segment kicks off with Sherlockian society activities coming up in the first half of October. Then, it's a new edition of "Examining the Pictures," with the film critic, journalist, and author Christian Monggaard, BSI, as he begins a review of the BBC's Sherlock series. Finally, the Canonical Couplet quiz will test your Sherlock Holmes knowledge, with a copy of something from the IHOSE vaults for the winner. He points out that the reef is the most exposed location in the Baltic Sea, “more rock than island, more sea than shelter.” To be dealt with before the first QSO is made is the weather, landing conditions, antennas, power and constant wind and waves, he says. They plan 80-10 CW, SSB and FT8. 3B8 – Mauritius & 3B9 – Rodrigues - SQ9UM, Alex, reports that “Everything seems to be arranged so far,” with flights and lodging now confirmed. 3B8/SQ9UM is August 14-17 and 21-27. 3B9/SQ9UM is August 18-20. Contest Updates August starts the contest season for me with two contests kicking things off. First is the Ohio QSO Party. I work every minute of this and have had some good rates the past few years. I could use your help if you are around the weekend of August 22nd. The contest period runs from 1200 EDT noon in Ohio (1600Z) to Midnight on the 22nd (0400Z Sunday). Secondly is the CQWW RTTY contest. This is the weekend of September 26th and 27th. This contest typically draws over 15,000 participants with over 3,600 logs submitted. If you can operate FT8, you can operate RTTY. Why not give it a try?
