Wisconsin's livestock market has been topsy turvy with incredible prices for any beef cattle. Curt Larson, President and CEO of the Equity Cooperative Livestock Sales Association, talks to Jill Welke about the marketing cycle they've witnessed at sale barns. He also projects what he's anticipating for livestock movement and prices going forward in 2025. Sunshine returns to the forecast today, according to Stu Muck. With high egg prices and limited supplies, many people have decided to try and grow their own. That's a great option, but you need to be aware of some of the regulations and laws that are in place to protect other farms and flocks. Stephanie Hoff talks to someone who's lived through a flock depopulation. Scott Schneider is an egg producer out of Lake Mills and he sits on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium. He knows firsthand how HPAI can damage a commercial flock. He dealt with it in 2015 when his flock was wiped out. This should motivate livestock owners to register and/or renew their premise ID through the Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium. For one, it's the law. Second, it's to protect livestock owners from disease outbreaks. The first crop progress report of the season was released on Monday. While there's not much to report for Wisconsin farmers, there's ample concern about weather patterns elsewhere. Matthew Bennett, co-founder of AgMarketing.net, says there's a 60% chance that drought could impact national production averages. John Heinberg, market advisor with Total Farm Marketing, joins Pam Jahnke to discuss the latest trends in tariffs and the impact it's having on the marketplace. The U.S. remains the place international buyers are going for corn, while South America's harvest continues. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How do you know if you're doing what you intended to do? More specifically- while working towards a health & wellness goal- How do you know if what you're spending your time and energy doing is actually bringing you closer to what you desire? As coaches and clinicians we spend years learning how to assess a person and choose initial interventions to achieve healing and performance goals. But as you work with someone can you confidently determine if your training parameters or interventions are bringing you closer or further away from your desired outcome? This episode of the Move Without Limits we interview Matt Bennett to give some light to the world of biomarkers- heart rate variability (HRV), in particular. As a psychotherapist Matt found he could measure progress with behavior and self-report but he had no way to “get under the skin”, as he says. For Matt, working in a trauma-informed environment, the true goal is to heal the underlying neurological injury left over by trauma. That's why biomarkers are a helpful measure. Originally Matt's interest in HRV came from working in special education schools, child welfare, homelessness, HIV & public health arenas. But what he cares about most now and what he doesn't think is given enough attention to is trauma-informed care of the healthcare practitioners. Matt is concerned with the burnout of professions in mental health, social services, education and healthcare. If the health and healing of the underlying neurobiological injury left over by trauma of the workforce isn't taken care of- how can we be expected to spend our lives helping other humans? I'm sure you've heard the saying- You can't pour from an empty cup. Today's episode gives meaning and helpful action to that phrase. Matt has a master's degree in community psychology and executive development (non-profit management), as well as a master's in business administration in health care. Matt specializes in the delivery of trauma-informed care, quality improvement, results-based leadership, and Motivational Interviewing. Matt has successfully combined his academic pursuits as a researcher, blogger, and published author with his practical experience in leading non-profit organizations and educational institutions to develop research-based solutions to improve the health of individuals and organizations.Check out the Optimal HRV App HereListen to the Optimal HRV PodcastFind Matt's Books Here:Connecting Paradigms: A Trauma-Informed & Neurobiological Framework for Motivational Interviewing ImplementationTalking about Trauma & Change: A Connecting Paradigms' SupplementHeart Rate Variability: The Future of Trauma-Informed CareThe Heart(beat) of Business: Positioning Heart Rate Variability as a Competitive AdvantageLearn about physical therapy services at Reload hereLearn about fitness services at Reload hereIG: @reload.ptDiggin' the intro/outro jam? How does the Qur'an, the Muslim holy book, compare and contrast with the Bible? What does it teach about sin, salvation, Jesus, and the possibility of knowing God personally? In this week's episode, I am thrilled to welcome the incredibly knowledgeable and HRV expert, Matt Bennett to the podcast. Matthew Bennett, MBA, MA, has a master's degree in psychology and a master's in business administration. Matt successfully combines his academic pursuits as a researcher, blogger, podcaster on the Heart Rate Variability Podcast, Trauma-Informed Lens Podcast and published author of articles and the books Heart Rate Variability: The Future of Trauma-Informed Care, The Heart(beat) of Business, Connecting Paradigms: A trauma-informed and neurobiological framework for Motivational Interviewing Implementation, Talking about Trauma & Change, and Trauma-Sensitive Early Education. Matt is a popular speaker on the topics of mental health, workforce resiliency, leadership, and trauma.Recently, Matt has utilized his vast knowledge on resiliency and trauma to found Optimal HRV. Optimal HRV is an app that provides a way to quantitatively measure Heart Rate Variability (HRV). HRV provides a research-backed method for measuring the health of a person's nervous system and is an indicator of overall physical, mental, and social health. Using the Biofeedback from this data collection, you can change your health with a mindfulness response, combating stressors and other stimuli. Now a simple smartphone application takes the data from the monitors, applies the algorithms, and provides users accurate data on their social, emotional, mental, and medical health. HRV becomes a practical and powerful tool that, with proper implementation, helps change lives. It has been my pleasure to have Matt join me, and I know, my listeners, that you will enjoy the episode. Join us for a conversation with Dr. Matthew Bennett, the lead scientist on a recently published article in the Journal Science that examined a set of human footprints preserved on an ancient lakeshore in New Mexico's White Sands National Park that date to between 21,000 and 23,000 years old. We discuss the fossilized human footprints, but we also talk about footprints of other animals including camels, mammoths, and giant sloths that are intermixed with the human prints at this site. We discuss how Matthew and his team determined that the footprints were those of children and teenagers, and how Matthew and his team have consulted with the 32 indigenous nations in the area and his commitment to an indigenous archaeology framework. Dr. Bennett brings this topic to life with his "evidence-based storytelling" so have a listen and enjoy our conversation about these ancient footprints that have pushed the evidence for the peopling of Americas back to at least 21,000 years ago.
