Faire Mauvais Genre (FMG) is a platform that seeks to elevate electronic music crews whose efforts are fertilizing queer club communities. Wacko, the mix series armature of FMG, is a collection of DJ mixes from some of those individuals who sustain the extraordinary queer spaces we value. Inside Wacko, we can dig deeper into the depths of what inspires us sonically. Here, no risk is too great; a similar sentiment that is embedded in the queer communities we admire. Wacko is fresh Wacko is crude Wacko is a kaleidoscopic occurrence Wacko is wacko Produced by Recto/Verso and Rachel Noon

FMG in conversation with Anna "La Chocha" Margarita Albelo on @stationstation (La Station, Gare des mines, Paris). Anna "La Chocha" Margarita Albelo is a Cuban-American writer, director, and producer, with 25 years of professional experience in film and nightlife. When Anna moved to Paris in the early 90s she founded the lesbian night "Ladies Room" which has become a legendary treasure in the history of Parisian queer nightlife. While Anna "La Chocha" had become quite a recognizeable figure through her work in the Paris experimental performance and danceclub scene, it is her film-making that has put her on the map internationally. Over the course of her career, Anna's body of work has been screened in over 150 international festivals. Her storytelling weaves narrative, documentary, and comedic elements into a unique story-telling style that has become her trademark. LA Weekly calls her work, “Riveting” and IndieWire spotlighted her as a “Filmmaker to watch!” Faire Mauvais Genre was lucky to speak with Anna days after a retrospective of her work was featured at the french film festival CINEFFABLE, which is the longest running international lesbian and feminist film festival.

Recorded by Mutualism for Faire Mauvais Genre at @quanticaonline. We are so excited for this month's guest: friend and kindred rave spirit, Mutualism! We've had the pleasure of sharing party spaces with her a few times and are in constant awe of how much positive energy she brings both as a DJ and as a fully-actualized rave FORCE on the dancefloor. Mutualism is a seasoned raver, event organizer, record collector, and DJ with a diverse style ranging from pretty to pretty bonkers. To facilitate ecstatic dance floor moments and community building, she created the family-friendly renegade park party Hernando's Hideaway as well as Real Love which celebrated femme and nonbinary DJs and live acts. As a member of the Strange Allure collaborative, she has worked to execute some of Buffalo, NY's most memorable underground parties of recent times. Now she spends her weekdays teaching music and art to the next generation—and yes, there are dance parties in class.

Faire Mauvais Genre in conversation with @bulto_co via - Radio StationStation (Paris) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ For our next interview, FMG tracked down the South American crew BULTO, whose name translates to the english 'bulge.' This Colombia based party is led by three vibrant individuals who share a strong vision of the queer underground in their hometown of Bogota. Although the scheming of these parties dates back much further, the first event happened barely one year ago and, in its short but impressive run, BULTO already attracts hundreds of ravers . The organizers thrive on their 'no holding back' ambitions which culminate in parties that are theatrical, wild, sweaty, and erupting with energy from start to finish.
